Stopped into Cold Stone on a Monday night after a trivia game. It was late, around 9:15 PM, but luckily they are open until 10 PM, even on. weeknights! My wife and I have been huge Cold Stone fans who have frequented this location for years. They moved into a new building since the addition of the Reno Public Market. The service when I visited was fast and friendly, even though they were fairly busy. I placed my order- cheesecake with pie crust. The nice gal prepared my ice cream quickly and got it rung up. You can eat inside, but there aren't a whole lotta tables. I took mine to-go to share with my wife at home. The ice cream at Cold Stone is always amazing. My usual order is sweet cream with chocolate cake, though I noticed chocolate cake as a mix-in is no longer an option. Sad :( The cheesecake with pie crust is a great option though, and my wife's favorite. Happy ice cream-ing!

This location is always busy, but they do their best to make the line go quickly!! The employees are always enthusiastic and excited to take your ice cream order. I always get the same thing cake batter with raspberries and it's always good!!

For a national brand, Cold Stone really does have a product that is better than most other chains. From creative combos to fresh flavors there is always something interesting happening at Cold Stone. My go to favorite is Cake Batter Batter Batter. The new location is way better than the last.

I have to admit I was loyal to BR, but this place had always caught my eye. I'm such a huge ice cream fan, so going to a new spot? Of course, why not! There was a long line but that didn't stop me. I patiently waited my turn while carefully checking out the menu. I love that you can customize your ice cream just the way you like it. Even though it was super crowded, the girls at the front were super friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. OMG, the amount of ice cream they give you is insane and it tastes amazing too! I have to say... I just found my new addiction.

We decided to stop in here on a Saturday because Scheels ice cream/ gelato place was busy with no place to sit. Glad we did because there was no line and plenty of chairs to sit in. My kid picked the cotton candy flavored ice cream and loved it. He was happy and enjoyed every bit of it. The girl helping us with the ice cream was nice and helpful.

Super Delish! All the girls in the front were super friendly and quick. My son's new favorite place.

A little sweet for me :)

You can enjoy a great variety of ice creams from simple single flavors to a mash of flavors and toppings from their signature mixes like Birthday Cale Remix like I get or create your own. It's always a treat to visit. They also have ice cream cakes. They have a loyalty program. If you are a regular it might be worth it. Service was welcoming and quick to help. Te restaurant was clean and several places to sit and enjoy.

Rarely ever am I disappointed with coming here. My go-to is a Sweet Cream with Oreo and Banana. Very delicious. Service is pretty standard. Mostly just teenagers working here and it is a chain store, so I really don't expect much. The one girl that was working the front was pleasant. However, I'm not sure why the other girl ran and hid in the back and didn't step in to help out with the line. Especially when it takes a few minutes to mix in one order.

I stopped in for a sweet treat with my kiddos. My daughter has loved this place since she was a toddler. This is our first visit to this store. With as many employees as they had working; the line moved extremely slow. The girl helping me was a younger red head, and she made the "stuck together like caramel and fudge," when I went to order my second ice cream she said to hold on that someone else would make it and left. Service was definitely better in their old location. Two stars were for the poor service tonight. I had to ask to use my rewards, and then the girl told me to pay on the screen without deducting my BoGo deal. It was still less than what it should have been, but I took that out of the tip they would have received. I was inclined not to tip anything since I still tip on service. It's been years since our last visit, and I can't say I'll be rushing back anytime soon. It's way too crowded, and trash was overflowing.

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

Getting in touch was a bit tougher than it should be. -- Great ice cream. Terrible followup. No one updated the online ordering system, so after driving twenty minutes to pick up a cone someone bought me as a takeout order, I arrived at an empty store, during what are normal business hours. Called to ask what was up and got voicemail. No one has returned the call several hours later. When someone finally picked up at the store, rather than apologize, he told me "well, your order is probably here, so come on in". Updating here: My friend said they ordered the takeout order online, and there was no "Special Hours" posted this morning - Handel's took the order because they didn't update their online availability. It appears they updated the hours listed here this afternoon. Sure. I'll just jump in my car and drive the ten miles back to South Reno - an hour round trip with traffic - because Handel's didn't bother to cover all the bases. Thanks, kid.

The service here is pretty fast. As soon as we ordered, our ice creams were assembled in the back and brought to us. I opted for the dark-chocolate-raspberry with vanilla on a peanut-dark-chocolate cone. It was delicious but too much to finish after a big meal. One of my friends had the dairy-free coffee ice cream and said it wasn't very flavorful. His wife tasted it and agreed. We originally planned to eat outside because it is very noisy inside between the hard floors, music, and kids, but it was raining a little and too hot, so we went back inside to wait out the rain. There was plenty of seating but it was REALLY hard to hear anything anyone was saying because of the noise level. Great spot, excellent speedy service. Don't forget napkins, though! You'll need more than you think.

YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I enjoyed it and that is what makes me want to return to try the chocolate chip cookie.

I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.

They also sell soaps and bath products shaped like realistic desserts, which I love and thought were such a cute touch. My daughter chose the pink strawberry ice cream with the pink strawberry cone. The flavor was great. It tasted fresh with real pieces of strawberry throughout and nothing artificial-tasting. I also liked that the cone itself had strawberry flavor woven into it rather than just being dyed pink or coated in toppings. I originally planned to get a second flavor to try, but the single scoop cone was over $10 so we decided to just share. We also came after seeing an Instagram post about their seasonal Lucky Charms cone and thought it included the ice cream shown in the photo, but it turned out to just be the cone. The advertising appeared to be made with AI and, for that reason, was a bit misleading when it came to representation of the ice cream available. Parking was probably the biggest challenge. The lot is very small and with the one-way directions in the lot, and around the block, it took a bit to find a spot. Inside there are only a few seats. There were four stools at a counter, and with another family there we ended up sharing a single bar stool. The bright interior makes it a place you want to hang out, but the limited seating makes that tricky. Still, the ice cream itself was very good and it was a fun outing with my daughter.
