Vanilla light with banana, coconut, and pineapple
Scott H.

I don't know how this place has such a low average score. I found it to be a very positive experience. The three guys behind the counter could not have been more friendly and helpful. They were super fast. When the store was crowded they didn't lose a beat. The store is clean and there's convenient parking right outside the door.

Learn to be professional and don't laugh at customers for no reason.

What can be better than delicious ice cream that you can control? Friendly staff, nice options, great flavors and many options.

Then choose the flavored topping! They have all kinds but my favorite is the lemon, by far. Just the right amount of tart and not overly sweet, this is a perfect donut! I tried a chocolate one on an earlier visit and it's also delicious, with a rich dark chocolate frosting. They've got homemade toaster pastries that look great, but I can't help myself with the lemon donut! They have gluten free donuts as well, but I haven't tried one yet. Everything in the case looks spectacular! Cute little shop to sit and chat with a friend over coffee and pastries. They're open every day 8am-2pm. Definitely give Too Sweet Cakes a try!

The person behind the counter said her favorite was the maple, so maple it was, accompanied by an iced Americano, extra cream. I'm not a donut person, but I am a croissant lover. I'd say that if you love a light, many layered donut croissant, you won't be disappointed. The location is just off the main drag, plenty of street parking. The sweet treat was $4.50, my total, with the beverage and a 20% tip was just over $10. Next time I plan to try a savory breakfast item. I saw a few others enjoying them, they looked yummy and are surprisingly well priced in today's world. I think this would be a great place to have cater a breakfast meeting or add yumminess to a bridal or baby shower.

Had his legs spread, hands in front, and pulled his pants up a little when a car pulled up. Do y'all not let your employees have bathroom breaks? Could be wrong but looked pretty distinct. Promptly changed course to go to 76 instead. Yikes.

You think? I can tell you from the angle of the vehicle, that the driver really had to work to plow through the front windows. The store is off the road at an angle and behind the pumps. Then he claimed there was a bomb in his vehicle?!? This is going to be one interesting day in court. I've been a regular customer at this station for 15 years. As a Shell cardholder, I save $$ every time I buy gas at one of their stations. During the past six months they've also been running a promotion with Fred Meyer so you present your Fred Meyer Rewards card to the attendant and save an additional $.10/gallon. This location is great because it is right on I-5 at the eastside of the Nyberg exit. Unfortunately it became a little less convenient several years ago when they built the Nyberg Woods Shopping Center across the street. Rather than being able to enter/exit from both directions, they constructed a barrier so now you have to drive backwards through the La-A-Boy parking lot to reach the station if you are heading west on Nyberg. Lame. Gas is a necessity. Saving money on gas is really nice considering the way the prices have been creeping up lately. A double discount (Shell and Fred Meyer) ensures I'm still one of their regulars.

There are a few tables outside too, complete with propane heaters and umbrellas. We have been coming here with our kids since they were in highchairs. The rotating Waffle of the Month specials have always been a hit with them. The menu offers a lot of flexibility regarding component selections and preparation. Favorites include the Smoked Salmon Avocado Benedict, the Iron Miner's Scramble (eggs, red potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, black beans, and gravy), and the Lake Grove Breakfast (omelet or scramble). The food is tasty and high quality, as are the coffee and the Bloody Marys. Service is friendly and competent in our experience. Babica Hen takes reservations for parties of eight or more - otherwise, it's first come, first served. The restaurant is located next to the (formerly COVID mask-wearing) large elephant statue which is part of Lake Oswego's Gallery Without Walls outdoor sculpture exhibition. Our kids compliment my wife's homecooked breakfasts by exclaiming, "We're eating at Mama-ca Hen!"

The highlight of our visit was definitely the service. Our server was absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, quick, and always checking in at just the right times. Honestly, 10/10 service and a big reason we'd come back. As for the food, I'd say it was solid. We skipped some of their popular waffle dishes and stuck with more traditional breakfast options. Everything was well-seasoned, the portions were generous, and we left full. Nothing really stood out as a "wow" dish, but it was a good, satisfying breakfast. The drinks were decent as well. The atmosphere is pretty simple and doesn't have a lot of wow factor, but it feels like a neighborhood breakfast spot where the focus is on good food and even better hospitality. Overall, a solid local place with outstanding service, and next time we'll have to come back and give those famous waffles a try.
