Man oh man! I am so thrilled to see this as a new addition to Clark Street! We have no shortage of fantastic coffee shops in this neighborhood, so Colectivo fits right in. I made my first order here a nitro cold brew which really livened my senses (this will wake you right up!). The place was pretty packed around 10am, and there was a good amount of white noise if you are concerned about that. For me personally, I love a little bit of white noise while working at a coffee shop. The interior is very nicely lit, a little moody, and perfect for gathering. On nice days, they'll open the windows, and the patio is available and looks pretty dog friendly if you want to bring your pooch. I'm looking forward to coming back soon and trying other things on the menu. It seems like this spot is going to become a Clark Street staple. I've been waiting to come here for a long time. I was not disappointed! I've been going to the Colectivo locations in the MKE for 2 years and they are great! I look forward to working from here in the future and trying out items from their lunch menu. For my 1st trek to this location, I went with the MOCHA MEXICANA. It was ok as I was not wowed with it but it's my fault because I don't like chile in any coffee type drinks. Shame on me. This locale has charm and the staff were very friendly. Another great coffee shop hitting Chicago by storm. Had this place up in Milwaukee few years back and so happy it is now in Chicago! The place is nice and cozy and a great spot to do work/study. They have lots of tables and counter space for you to work. I sat by the high top against the wall facing Clark street and it was nice. It was nice to people watch as I had my morning cup of Joe. The staff is friendly and the lines move really quick. I had a medium cold brew and I thought it was just right. The flavor was not too strong or too watered down. They also had lots of food like sandwiches and baked goods. I would definitely recommend this coffee joint but definitely come early if yo want a good spot because it fills up fast! read more

Atmosphere is so nice and welcoming. Not as stark as Starbucks. The staff is very nice. Very engaged and friendly. I got a wrap and a sandwich. Both were..... very healthy tasting. You know what I mean - grainy, lack of creamy dressing. Everything was high quality but unfortunately their interpretation is a little too healthy-tasting for me. Iced matcha latte was not good at all. It was maybe 5-10% milk. I'd like to go more often because of the atmosphere but I haven't figured out what to get except maybe plain coffee. Colectivo looks like a cute little spot to grab some coffee and a sandwich. But once inside, you realize they don't do coffee very well and they need to work on their general cleanliness. We stopped in for lunch and the first thing that we noticed as we approached the counter to order were the several flies in the pastry case. Yes, they had their big windows open so insects are going to get in but they left the doors of the pasty case open so there were about four flies crawling on the cinnamon rolls & muffins. Kind of gross. I ordered the turkey club sandwich with a "Sparkling cherry cold brew". The sandwich was decent but I would have preferred more of roll than thin slices of sourdough. The cherry cold brew was gross. It tased like those cherry cordial candies which I don't like. So that's on me for ordering something that I didn't like. My husband had the chipotle chicken sandwich and a nitro cold brew. He liked the sandwich but felt the number and size of the pickles overwhelmed everything. As for his nitro cold brew, it was flat with no hints of sweetness or creamy that you expect from a nitro cold brew. The two sandwiches and coffees came to over $35.00. When it comes to coffee, I think there are better options in the city. Colective did okay with their sandwiches but they may want to be a mindful about the cleanliness and how it makes them look. read more

Great food, and the coffee's not bad. As for staff, rather uneven when it comes to professionalism and care, and this may be due to a fairly quick employment turnaround. More often than not, I have experienced attitude about my service dog, despite the multiple times I've been in there with him. Either each new person is not getting properly trained, or as with one particular chap there, they have an issue with it on a personal level. When it comes to being accompanied by a Service Animal, I find it is quite common for people to judge by appearance. They seem to assume the handler is being dishonest and trying to pass off their pet as a working dog simply for their own pleasure. It is this type of attitude I repeatedly get from staff here. Every time I have to meet someone there, I'm literally rehearsing my responses in case I come across another attitude and challenge of my S.A.'s validity. I shouldn't have to feel so concerned about the same exact issue after all the years I've patronised this location. For this reason, I give it 2 stars. read more

Good coffee and good pastries. I had an iced coffee and a cookie. Both were delicious. I want to try more of their coffee and sweets menus-they have nitro, cold brew, and all sorts of other types of coffee. Interior was nice. It felt very classic/homey with mostly wood and earth tones. It was a bit full inside when I went, so I wouldn't bank I'm getting a seat during their peak hours. Staff members were friendly. I think this place would be amazing when their outdoor component is available. So, I'll be back the next time I'm in Andersonville. read more

I got the Iced Cold Brew Oat-Chata and it was on point! Absolutely delicious! My husband got an iced decaf latte and it was also really good. The coffee has a burnt sugar/ caramel notes that you usually don't taste in decaf roasts. If we had room in our suitcase, we would for sure have bought some coffee beans to take home with us. read more

Love this coffee shop. The ambiance is great a very welcoming and relaxing environment. Not too stuffy or sterile like some other places. Sub par service and disorganized ops at the ordering counter make this place very odd and unpleasant. It seems to be bustling most days, so perhaps I'm in the minority here ‍ The $1 refills for 8 oz of coffee seems ridiculous when you've paid $3+ for the first coffee. The food I've had (two different sandwiches on two different occasions) are fine - nothing truly original, but good enough. There are just so many other great places I'd rather go to for lunch in the 'hood (First Slice or Dollop would be my recommendations). I love this Colectivo location. It's such a nice addition to Andersonville. The atmosphere is very pleasant - a great spot to stop in for coffee or a bite to eat, either by yourself or to sit and talk with friends. The drinks I've tried have all been great, including their hot chocolate. On my recent trips the coffee of the week was Burundi which was great and when I was feeling a bit too anxious for caffeine, I enjoyed the decaf roast called Dream Harder. I haven't tried their actual food, but I've had a few of their pastries which have never disappointed and are so beautiful they're just fun to stare at! The staff is always super friendly and laid back. It's always a treat when I'm able to stop in when I'm shopping in the neighborhood! read more

Pros -Sparkling water on tap -Friendly and down to earth staff (seriously) -Good oat milk Cons -Minimal vegan options: dessert or bagel, that's it! No muffins or scones just high sugar or empty carbs. Not very collectivo. -No airflow in entire place; body odor easily dominates and stuffy/hot air makes the environment intolerable! -No reusable glasses by the water station. A quick sip will cost the environment a plastic cup. La Colombe uses glassware and it is very neat. read more

One of my favorite places to study! It opens late and they don't really care how long you stay or how much you order. The place can get really crowded though (thus a little loud & the music is a bit off) but there's a lot of space. I usually just grab a random spot and keep my eyes open for a better table that frees up later on. But, you could also go there early in the morning or later in the afternoon when there are less people. The bakeries are delicious! I had the blueberry muffin and it's close to perfection. Not too rich or sweet. I'm not a fan of cinnamon rolls either, but this one only had a slight flavour of cinnamon and I thought it was very good! For food, I would actually recommend their Smoked Salmon Sandwich which comes with fruits on the side. The Avocado BLT is something else to try as well! Last but not least, absolutely love their smoothies. I've also had their Matcha Latte, which I can say I've had way better. All the rest is gucci though! read more

I've been drinking Colectivo coffee for years as other coffee shops brew it around the city. However the shop in Andersonville is disappointing. First of all, everyone behind the register has an attitude and acts like they are being bothered. Next I order the avocado toast and you cant even bite into it. It's hard, and drenched with this disgusting cold egg and pesto. YIKES. They has decent coffee sometimes, but it isn't worth their overpriced items to be treated like dirt and to order food I can't even eat. read more
