Service is always super busy, which isn't really their fault but there should definitely be someone on phones for only service. So; We brought the car in running fine. My wife had just driven 5 hours to Maine and back a week before and it was running fine. We brought the car in to check for a possible leak and a recall that our mechanic had mentioned. The car would not run when we got it back and the engine light was on.We asked Tom who was dealing with us why the service light was on. He was like" you have problems with the car. It should be towed" Not the way we brought the car in. We are very disappointed with the service and will never use the dealership again. SERVICE My truck broke down 10/10/25. I had it towed here. We paid to replace the entire thermostat housing. My truck broke down again the next morning with the same symptoms. I had it towed back here. The Service Manager (Garret Ondo) said he couldn't take in my car that day because it was a Saturday. He said, "Do you expect me to tell all these other customers to go home?" Finally, he agreed to maybe looking at my truck in 2-4 hours as I sat in the waiting area worried. My truck was put in the back of the dealership (not in the mechanic's bay) where a well-meaning diesel mechanic misdiagnosed it as needing a part Ford no longer makes. I should've been made a priority given that their prior work failed. There were 5 techs there and it wasn't very busy. I was alone in the waiting area almost all afternoon. Mr. Ondo agreed to let me keep my truck there til Monday when I could try to find the part needed or they could take a closer look at my truck. He knew I was in a very vulnerable financial position. I was forced to spend hundreds of dollars on hotels, Uber rides and DoorDash to get food - a luxury I can never afford - during a Nor'easter. Mr. Ondo and others refused to communicate with me all day on Monday as I sat in my hotel. I was told twice when I called that someone would call me back. They never did. Later it was found by a friend who curiously looked at his Facebook page that he had been in Boston getting a tattoo. Mr. Ondo finally called me Tuesday to say my car was ready. He didn't know what had been done to it. I asked if it was roadworthy. He said, "Yes". I was refused paperwork when I picked up my car. I was told "Mr". Ondo was in a meeting and couldn't talk with to me. He was my Service Advisor for the job. After I left with my truck, he avoided my calls all day. I wanted to know what had been done to my truck. Jackie (who answers the phones) helped him "keep me in the dark", saying he was unavailable or putting me into other people's voice mails. Finally, I had to drive back to the dealership to get him to communicate with me. He said that the part I was told I needed on Saturday just needed to be reprogrammed. This should've been resolved on Saturday when I towed it back to them. Instead, I had been put on the way back burner without a proper Ford technician and therefore left with major expenses. I have asked the General Manager of this dealership for a very fair reimbursement of these expenses. I will remove this review if I am recompensed. UPDATE: The GM responded to the negative. My experience with Colonial Ford. I moved to the area in 2003, and at the time we owned both an F-150 and a Ford Escape. When I asked around about where to take our vehicles for service, the message was loud and clear: avoid Colonial Ford. I took that advice seriously--at first. Eventually, I decided to give them a chance with our 2013 Escape, which was experiencing an overheating issue. After multiple visits and a number of parts blindly thrown at the problem, they finally discovered it was a damaged fan. When we picked up the vehicle and drove it the short 8 miles home, I immediately noticed the engine panel was hanging off. Upon inspection, it was clear that the technicians hadn't bothered to reinstall all the fasteners. I called the service manager, Bruce Kelly, who defensively claimed his tech would never do that and dismissed it with, "Those fasteners are cheap." That arrogance set the tone, and I avoided them from that point forward. Fast forward to 2019--I decided to give Colonial another shot with our F-150, Eco-sport, Fusion (only vehicle I purchased from Colonial), and Escape. For a while, they managed to handle basic service with very little incidents, nothing major. Then came our two 2023 Mavericks. We didn't buy them from Colonial because they were shamelessly marking them up by $4,000 over MSRP--something many dealerships were doing, but it still told me everything I needed to know about their priorities. Even so, we brought the Mavericks there for oil changes, recalls, tires, and minor warranty work without issue. Then we encountered a known issue within the Maverick community: water intrusion on the passenger side. When we brought it to Colonial, they flat-out refused to look at it because we hadn't purchased the vehicles from them. After filing complaints with the FTC, the Massachusetts Attorney General, and Ford, their story changed--they claimed they were "booked out" and used that as justification for denying warranty service. Fortunately, another dealership handled the issue professionally and promptly. Colonial Ford has repeatedly shown that customer service is not their concern--unless you bought the vehicle from them and even then, it's a gamble. The service manager, Bruce Kelly, is dismissive, arrogant, and unprofessional. I will avoid buying and having a vehicle serviced at Colonial Ford again--and I strongly advise others to avoid them as well. read more

Don't usually make a post like this but I want Colonial Ford of Plymouth Ma to be publicized for their shady behaviors and terrible customer service. Purchased a 2020 f550 from them in February of 2026 with 25k miles. Drove the truck home and locked it in my shop, I was the only one to drive it and only one in my shop. Next time I ran the truck it died(the next day) After back and forth with them, and after they said they would send a tow truck that never showed up, denied setting that up but also said "oh yeah it was canceled" they said "I don't know call AAA or something" I sent it to another dealership and it was determined that there was gas in the tank. Colonial ford is denying everything and said they don't even put fuel in used vehicles (although I test drove it with 3/4 of a tank or so and picked it up with a full tank) "we have your truck ready, all detailed and fueled up for you" $14,000 repair bill coming my way because Colonial Ford will not stand behind their vehicles they sell. I recently moved back to the Plymouth area and needed somewhere to bring my 2020 Ford Escape for warranty and recall work. My first visit was on a Friday and I was there from 7:30am to around noon for a recall on my car. I got a mile from the dealership and my check engine light came on. I called the dealership and was told that sometimes the recall doesn't take or that a wire could have been worn out because of the recall so I had to go back the next day. Another few hours and they said I should be all set. Less than a month later my check engine light came on again but this time I was told that it was a wire that was worn out but it wasn't covered by my warranty so the cost was $565. I didn't have a choice but to pay for the repair to be done so I did. I was back less than a week later because the check engine light was back on. This time I was told that it was my catalytic converter that needed to be replaced but it was still under warranty and they needed to order the part. I was told that Ford would cover a rental for a few days when the part came in so I didn't have to wait at the dealership again. Sounds great! When I scheduled the appointment for my repair, I asked what time I needed to get there in order to check in, get the rental car and be out of there in order to be home in time to start working at 9am because I live rough 20 minutes from the dealership. I was told that 7:30am would allow plenty of time. I pulled in the service area at 7:20am, dropped off my car and asked if I would be picking up the car that day or the next. I was told it might not be until the next day so I grabbed everything that I needed for my Saturday plans out of my vehicle and was told where to go to sign the paperwork and get the keys for my rental. I proceeded to sit there for over an hour with no help. 3 different dealership employees said that they were going to find the gentleman who worked at the rental counter and send him right in but he didn't arrive at the counter until 8:45. I expressed my frustration to one of the managers while I was waiting and was told that the rental company is a separate company and that they can't control them. ZERO APOLOGIES from this manager or the rental agent. Because of the delay in getting the rental car not only was I not home in time to start working at 9am, I spent my entire day fuming. When I dropped off the rental and picked up my car, I was told the same excuses about the rental company being separate and the dealership can't control them. The rental company has a desk in the service area so they are representing the dealership at that point. The horrible experience with this situation and lack of apologies from anyone is why I will be going elsewhere for service and recalls. I was thinking of trading in my Escape for a Bronco Heritage but I'm looking elsewhere to make this happen. read more

We encounter occasional delays with their service dept. No big deal in the past. One day job, day one This week we brought in car for one day prearranged service. They actually called us 5x in one day and talked us into bringing going in car for this work. One day service was promised. No call from them day one, we call late in day, everyone had left. They tell us they will call next day to confirm. One day job, day two (we had reservations for ferry with the car) No call day 2. We called them 830, mechanic not done, status unknown, mechanic not due in til 930, yes 930 Found out day one they brought it into the bay at 130, not 830 as guaranteed. So, both recalls not started, all the service schedulers guarantee of one day, we have the parts was bs The cat converter and rear camera will be done by Jannell. The re-occurring passengers window issue wasn't fixed, they said it was. Jannell will do that as well. I don't recommend them, we won't work with them in the future and the GM Ron Almeida who stated he was next to service guy when he called back to uncluster their cluster fluuuk screw up didn't do his homework nor did he perform due diligence to fix it. As Ron said, we really screwed up guys up. No apology, just excuses and zero follow up. We own a lot of vehicles, I've never written a negative review on anyone or any business. DO NOT BUY from Colonial Ford! The only thing worse than the junk they sell is their customer service. I bought a brand new F350 a week ago. It's been pulling to the right since I purchased it. I spoke to my salesman Charlie and let him know and he told me to bring it in Tuesday at 10 and they'd take care of it. Well, it's Tuesday at 10 and I took time off of work to bring it in only to be told I don't have an appointment. So now I'm stuck with a brand new 60k truck (which I paid over MSRP for) that has a messed up alignment. WAIT! It gets worse! I purchased this truck specifically to tow trailers for work. Ford, the manufacturer requires that it comes with a 3" hitch receiver. This one has a 2.5" hitch receiver. That means I'm forced to tow without the equipment that the manufacturer requires and I lose 5,000lbs of towing capacity! Dangerous and not what I purchased. Colonial won't fix this either! I have a brand new F250 Super Duty that has a water leak in the top of the windshield. I called Colonial Ford last week to set up a service appointment for today, when I arrived they took my truck and sent me into the service department, after the service agent reviewed my file he said "you didn't buy the truck from here did you?", I said no. He walked into his service managers office and came back out and told me because I didn't purchase the truck from them they wouldn't service it. I worked with a sales man named Dylan. I looked at a Jeep I loved. I asked for the running boards to be pout on. The finance department was amazing. Upon picked up the Jeep things were not as expected on Saturday. An hour and a half later the jeep broke down on 495. When I called and spoke to Dylan I was asked to use my own AAA and told that a loaner was not an option. I tried to co0mmincate my concerns to Dylan the next day and I was told he would by in the office until 8:30 am. I did not here from Dylan again until I spoke to someone else. I want to make this clear the SERVICE department is AMAZING and I would bring my vehicle there to be repaired. On Friday I was offered a loaner for the weekend by the service department. Once again AMAZING people after spending the week using a bus and paying people for gas over $100 when my sales person DYLAN reported the day I bought the car that loaner's where not an option. I had to bring the Jeep back and once again the SERVICE department was nothing but receptive, welcoming and understanding. I have not heard from my sale4sman DYLAN since he sold a car that broke down an 1 1/2 hours after I received it expect for the day I mentioned my frustration to someone else. I've been purchasing new/preowned vehicles here since 1985 and have always been happy (if I've ever had an issue, they handled it promptly and correctly). But on Thur, September 1st, 2022 I (for the first time EVER) locked my key inside my truck, along with my phone! I'm a Facilities Manager at The Pinehills in Plymouth and am constantly the move! I have AAA, but called Colonial first, hoping they had a quicker suggestion. Beth A. answered the call and I quickly explained the situation; she was very nice, professional and was pivotal in the success of how this ended. She politely put me on hold. If you've ever done this, you understand how I felt, having to knock on someones door, ask to use their phone and then make calls while they're eating their lunch. Bruce, the Service Director, promptly picked up the call: "hey Paul, where exactly are you?" I gave him the address and he states that he's 'sending someone over." Exactly 25 minutes later, one of Colonial's technicians by the name of Trey, a 10 year United States Marine Veteran, arrives. He get's out of his truck with a "lockout" kit and bada-bing, bada-boom, door's unlocked! The incredible teamwork I witnessed was EXACTLY why I've been doing business with Colonial Ford for the past 37 years and will continue to as long as I'm around! That kind of "old school" customer service experience is just unheard of in today's world and so much appreciated! If I could give them 0 stars I would. At the beginning I thought they were a good dealership, nice new building, comfortable and welcoming waiting area, and the service was good. But over the past 8 months having to keep going back for the same problems, I've decided that its not my truck, its the S***Y service dept. Nothing but incompetence. Today (5/28/21) was the last draw. I brought my truck in for a simple service, fix a broken wire giving me a fault. Should've been a quick fix, 6 hours later I can finally get my truck. Didnt charge me for the service, I thought Nice, come to find out that the POS that worked on my truck updated my ECM when I specifically asked them not to. My truck is stock, but I have a programmer to add more power when I'm towing heavy. I forgot to remove the programming, so when they did the update, it wiped the computer and now my programmer doesn't recognize the truck and may not ever work again. Just purchased a brand new F150 for 55k with LED lights. They swapped OEM non LED for non-performing aftermarket LED that operated so poorly I returned the truck next day for repair to which they did. These adjusted/repaired aftermarket LED's do not refract the light correctly as now it refracts 2 spotlights instead of a spread beam of light. The response by personal and well trained in deflecting issues were given by 4 different personal, Joe Dziedzic sales manager, Joe service, Del Roderick sales and Joe Murphy sales "But the lights are brighter". I didn't realize with a purchase price of 55K that it also included FRAUD too, what a bargain! Next step, small claims COURT, wow, what FUN! read more

I went into Colonial for an annual service on my Super Duty. The service team is great and always tries their hardest to get me in and get me out. While I was walking though the showroom I saw the new EcoSport. I also was greeted a few times and met Jake Eldredge. Jake isn't a pushy, high pressure salesmen, more of a consultant and educator. Long and short, the car I was going to trade in wasn't onsite due to my truck being in service. The car was pulled up, showed, drove and when it came to the painful part of negotiation, there was none. He was a gentlemen and negotiator at the same time. We put the deal together in a few minutes and none of that back and forth or, "If I can do this, if I can do that would you buy today, give me a credit card to hold, etc."... When it came time later that day to bring the trade back, and my mother...everything was ready. Easy, no time or lagging. No, a car dealership or any business isn't perfect and has issues, but Colonial Ford, Jake, Dell and service has a heck of team. As you know, there's many places where you can buy your car or truck, all dealers pay the same from any manufactures. Brought my 2016 Ford Fusion to Colonial Ford of Plymouth with an engine light on. The code said P1450 indicating a failure in the evap/fuel system. They gave me an estimate of $600. I unknowingly agreed, thinking that $600 was what it cost for the repair of the fault code. What was not clear was that they were planning to do a "Multi-Point Inspection" to the tune of $225, something I neither wanted nor knew that I was agreeing to. To add insult to injury, Colonial Ford of Plymouth, added Fuel Injector Cleaner to my fuel tank at a cost of $74.01. What does this item cost at Auto Zone? Labor to "clean" the fuel system was $127.95. I learned that I had better question each line item on a price estimate at Colonial Ford of Plymouth...in the unlikely probability I ever return there again. PS: It may take days to get a service appointment as the phone just rings and rings when trying to contact the service department. I have been going to Colonial Ford for service on my Ford Explorer, Mercury Mariner, and Lincoln MKX. Their new service facilities are a huge improvement from their previous location. The technicians have always done a fantastic job at a fair price. I've had the recent misfortune to have to take my Lincoln to their body shop for a repair. The work was done quickly, and at the estimated amount. At delivery, my car was spotless inside and out, and the paint match on the bumper was better than from the factory. Unfortunately, just two weeks later I had a repeat visit for damage to my front end. This time the work required was more extensive, but the Collision Shop again did a fantastic job and my car was returned to me spotless. Thanks to Mark and his crew. I purchased a Ford Explorer here in March 0f 2021, my sales agent was Glenn Smith. Everything went ok with the purchase, until almost 90 days later I asked Glenn how come I haven't received my registration sticker & paperwork, car manual, and rear cargo net; which were all the things Glenn said he would have mailed to me. Since I began asking for my paperwork an registration sticker, Glenn has refused to respond to my calls, Glenn does not follow up with me or reply to my text messages. I even called Colonial Ford and asked to speak with a supervisor, all they did was make false promises and forward me to voicemail. I have expressed to Glenn that I cannot park my car on the street with license plates and no registration without getting a ticket, I have even told Glenn that I am getting pulled over constantly by the police for not having my registration. Had to get my car fixed there when the ignition in the wife's car no longer worked and it had one of those chipped key that need to be programed. Colonial Ford fixed it with no problems at all. Yes they charge a LOT but that is the price you pay for doing to a dealer. Considering you can't trust an independent shop to properly program the chipped key this was a wise decision as far as I am concerned. I took a star off because as much as I have tried to unsubscribe to their emails it doesn't seem to work. We don't own a Ford anymore so we have no need to get their emails. I've purchased with this dealer my 2019 (used/almost zero miles) transit connect cargo van for my small business in CT just recently. This was the most HORRIBLE experience I ever had in my life. I did purchase my other cargo vans at different dealers across US, but this specific dealer been less then even unprofessional. The sales person did delay and lied about every aspect of this deal. It started with above the normal interest rate, I t is been fixed when I called Ford USA main office and complained. It is been lost (by the sales person) purchase agreement. It been false statement about the working condition of the installed electrical equipment, It is been more than a month waiting time until I got the licence plates. And, actually, it is been confirmed with the sales person for several times that I will need the COMBINATION plates, but I did receive COMMERCIAL only by mail. And more and more and more....
