They made planning my event so easy! I went into the Color Me Mine in El Segundo to ask about hosting a group event, and I was helped by Leah, who was great. She took the time to explain all the options like open studio vs. private party, how many people each option can fit, the studio fee, and how the pricing works for the ceramics. She even walked me around the studio, showed me different pieces (including mugs and other fun shapes), and gave me ideas for setting a per-person budget. She was super patient with all my questions and never rushed me. She also showed me how they set up the tables for parties and how we could bring food, and she explained how to book online. I felt her enthusiasm for art and for helping people have a great time here. Because of Leah, I'm excited and confident about bringing my group back for a party. First impressions matter and the Color Me. One was clean, organized, ready, light and bright. The space felt good. I had called ahead with questions which were answered clearly and in a friendly way. The staff was helpful and supportive but not too involved. Jen brought a high chair for our little one but then went about her work, which was appreciated. We were there for togetherness and were supported in that. I really wanted baby footprints on a plate and Jen gave great advice on how to do that. I just hosted my daughter's 8th birthday party here and all the kids had a BLAST! The studio is very clean, organized, and endless pottery options. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and very efficient! They kept the flow of the party going and touched base with me throughout the party. I would suggest bringing an extra activity as some kiddos finished painting quickly. I brought beads to make bracelets and hired Sprinkled Cookie by Janice - AMAZING! Checked your opening hours here, your website AND google. Drove all the way from west LA with my super excited son. Show up at 4pm and you're closed for a private event. Son is heartbroken and I'm irritated to say the least. All the staff looked at me like I'm an idiot for showing up during the private event. No apologies or anything. This was our first time going to Color Me Mine and we chose El Segundo instead of Santa Monica. I told the girl it was our first time and her instructions were rushed. Not detailed. She pointed to the back wall regarding videos and paint. She needs more customer service training. I ended up watching people around me and copied them. Another girl came out and I overheard her tell another group in detail what to do & what to expect. That's when I knew the girl we had needs more training. They did not check up on us once or ask us if we needed our water replaced. I had to ask one of them to replace our water. Only because I saw her go to 2 other tables and asked them if they needed their water replaced. The worst part my husband gave a tip at the end. What are we tipping for, honestly? I regretted not going to the Santa Monica location. We came here to do something fun & tap into our creative side. The experience was far from that. Honestly this place has terrible business sense. I called to rent out a partial studio rental for 9 people in a week's time, and they said it was "past the deadline" to reserve that, even though they don't have reservations filled for that date! I was super excited to get my vampire back which I took about two hours painting lol , I was anxiously waiting with my daughter for the phone call and or email and just to be told they broke my vampire and " it's super rare the vampire must've had a crack " which it didn't because I was so into painting it lmao but regardless , I expect a full refund on top of the value of the vampire in which I spent and received nothing , fortunately they did not break my babies cat which honestly so happy about but to they do have a worker or manager named Jesse who sounds extremely condescending when speaking to people and is super rude , I will definitely never take my money back to this establishment, not only are they careless they're rude , don't come here if you want to spend money to receive nothing !
