All solid, but the apple pie was the standout for sure. The shop is small and charming with a bunch of kitchen items and old school goodies. Almost everything had a Made in the USA sticker which I appreciated. There are picnic tables outside with beautiful views and plenty of wildlife wandering around. My favorite part was that all the trees are labeled. Almond tree, apple tree, everything clearly marked. Honestly every farm should do that so you know what you are looking at when you pass by. Definitely worth stopping for pie and hopefully a cinnamon roll if you get there early enough.

The rest of the house is a little store that sells jams, syrups and other food. More importantly, there is the selection of cute personal sized pie on different flavors, cinnamon roll and homemade ice cream. You queue up to the register and tell them what kind of pie(s) you want. We chose the peach pie and a cinnamon roll. They take credit card but add the 3% merchant fee btw. There's picnic tables at which you can enjoy your sweets. The pie.... Wow! The crust was so flaky and light and the peach filling had just the right amount of sweetness. No wonder the pies sell out quickly. The cinnamon roll was so soft and the frosting was so good! It was a perfect way to fuel our day in the park! Parking is across the street.

This is a room that isn't advertised in 3rd party sites and has to be booked on the property website only - it's something like 50% cheaper than the rooms in the hotel. The room comes with unlimited tea, coffee, and hot chocolate from the General Store/Cafe. We were a bit confused with how it worked since other customers have to pay for drinks, but the clerk assured us we could go whenever to get drinks (which we did multiple times!) While we checked in too late in the day to eat at the deli and left too early in the morning for Chuckwagon's famous lunch boxes, we did hit it up in the morning for breakfast pastries, which according to the cashier are all baked in house (and why we were attracted to them in the first place). We were having trouble deciding between the Kouign Amann and the Chocolate Croissant, eventually deciding on the former, but the cashier tossed us the latter for free! What great service! Chocolate Croissant (Complementary, normally $6) - This is a gorgeous looking croissant, golden brown with a drizzle of sweet chocolate on top, still soft and gooey thanks to being fresh from the oven. It's baked hard, so croissant shards fly everywhere while eating. I'd say it's baked a tad too long, so while extremely flaky, the interior isn't quite as chewy as I'd like. The lamination does look quite good from what I can tell after having some difficulty slicing through with a plastic knife. As is traditional, two chocolate batons are baked inside. (5/5) Kouign Amann w/ Cream ($6) - Again, this pastry has a really hard bake, so almost the entire thing shatters easily, except for the stellar caramelized sugar layer covering the bottom. It's hardened, sticky, and sweet with a great crunch factor. The interior is actually correct for a Kouign Amann, which is really surprising for a small-town bakery. It's not laminated nearly as much as the croissant, and instead seems to be a nice enriched brioche interior, albeit not particularly airy and soft in texture due to the bake. There's a really tangy and somewhat sweet cream cheese frosting that's piped into the center. I'd actually prefer the pastry without this extra flourish, but beggars can't be choosers! (5/5) Both pastries are more of a 4.5/5 due to the bake, but the ingredients and technique (other than bake) seem to be well thought out. We were not expecting much from these baked goods given that the Chuckwagon Deli isn't exactly a specialty bakery, but in the end we were extremely surprised by the quality. I'll definitely be revisiting if I'm ever in town again.

Royal's had my back and offered up plenty of options for food and snacks. What sets this place apart from other grocery experiences is the service. I visited twice in a matter of a couple days and on both visits the customer service was terrific. The cashiers (different folks each day) were both chatty and welcoming, even to an out of towner. (Sometimes small town shops don't care much for city folks, but I didn't get that vibe here.) I'm happy to stop by and stock up on treats and provisions any time I'm passing through the area.

Torrey surprised me in several ways, including this cool spot on the edge of a tiny town. Etta Place serves up delicious cider. They offer a large variety of flavors and are very good at describing them so you have an idea of what you're getting into. You can order a large pour or a flight. I chose a flight and my favorite was the Fig! The inside is comfy and lots of places to settle and enjoy your beverage. Or you can venture out to the back patio and look at a lovely view of the wild Utah landscape. I'd say the prices are comparable to other cider places I have visited. My favorite thing was the info they post about what apples are coming next and what they plan to do with them. How fun to have a peek behind the curtain.

This is no ordinary pit stop in the middle of nowhere. High-end groceries, regular c-store goodies, camping supplies, local art, a bakery, and shockingly, the thing we needed most--Flonase. Two sprays twice a day keeps the allergies at bay. Past the welcoming shaded patio were the cleanest and roomiest bathrooms I've found in a gas station. These could be found in someone's home. Hills and Hollows was a bright spot on a gorgeous Utah day. Stop and enjoy as long as it suits you.

Next to the Mini Mart you can see Boulder Bakery in the works making fresh sourdough and donuts - THE BEST DONUTS ON PLANET EARTH - Additionally, Cache Cannery has a spot here where they sell fresh jams, marmalades and more.
