I was thankful to get in when salons started opening up again and even with a haircut. The two stars come from that and they really did try hard to keep things clean and safe for the customer while there....I have been going to Colorific for over 15 years. Stylists have come and gone but I stuck with the company even under the new name & owner until now. First reason is I was given a $25 haircut that took less than two minutes. After washing the color out of my hair I went back to the chair where she proceeded to rip my hair out trying to straighten it with comb and then a brush... I saw clumps of my hair within that comb. The two minutes were her simply straightening out the length of my hair in the back cutting off about an inch, pulling the two sides on either corner of my head to the front to make sure they were even...snip, snip....done. No attempt at blending the layers that were still left, removing any other dead ends I might've had throughout the rest of my hair....nothing. When it came to color I tried something new called melting. I probably would've liked that had she not demolished the all over color she put on my roots. I now have INCREDIBLY dark roots that do no blend well whatsoever with the highlight melting effects. I even showed her pictures of the color I was going for which was caramel. I did have a lot of gray grown out but I had caramel/warm brown to begin with everywhere else so to end up with this dark color is just so....Ugh. They've burnt my hair in the past and I told her this but she never once checked on me during the processing. No, it did not get burnt but it would've been nice had she reassured me by checking because she was new to me and my hair. She wasn't even reassuring when I told her she just remain silent....awkward....and yes, she did hear me. Also, I had totally forgotten that toner is not necessarily a must. My past stylist always explain this as an option. It's an extra $20 charge. I rarely take it. This time it was just done and on the bill. That was definitely not appreciated. Typically I don't mind when a hairstylist doesn't talk. I started the conversation twice and then gave up. She never started any of the conversation unless it was a tell me to do something. I've never had a stylist that didn't ask me at least one question about myself. I went at 3 PM. Must've been a long day..... I drive a heckuva long way to get there and had thought it worth it but by the time I was done with tip and everything it was $181. I think I can get a better haircut and color for the same price anywhere else. I doubt I will ever be going back. This time it was just too much of a disappointment. Below is a picture of what I showed her of the coloring I wanted and the dark coloring I got.

Haircut.

Color is always good and appointment time is always kept. Nicole does a great job, but so do others when I can not get Nicole.

Found our spot and we are not leaving…read more Beauty Addiction has become the go to dad daughter spa day destination for us, and after a few visits with Jessica we are fully converted regulars. Jessica is the kind of nail tech who makes you feel like your nails are genuinely her art project and she is invested in getting it right. Always open to creative nail art designs, executes them cleanly, and brings a warmth and sweetness to the whole experience that makes the appointment feel like a treat rather than a transaction. The space itself is large, clean, and put together. Crystal lighting and black accents give it a polished aesthetic without feeling stuffy. You can tell the techs here actually care about their craft and it shows in the work coming out of every chair. One area with room to grow: the color selection is on the smaller side. For a salon this dialed in on nail art and creative designs, a broader variety of colors would take things to the next level and honestly feel more in line with the talent behind the chair. Pricing is fair and reflects the quality well, which is refreshing. If you are looking for a reliable, creative, and welcoming nail salon in Plainfield, this is your place. Bonus points if you can make it a spa day with your kid.
