I have been going here (FG Naperville, IL Rt 59) for perhaps 15-20 years--mainly for hair. HAIR: Anne has been my stylist for that duration. She has done an amazing job with my hair--she's quite genuine and nice. I am a brunette with fine, long hair that I have dyed vibrant pink all over. So, my hair needs to be lightened/foiled then dyed pink, which is kind of harsh on hair, but Anne has kept my hair in great shape. She takes the time needed to do it properly, has a plan for future visits, advises product/product usage, shapes my style well and does an amazing blowout. Very happy!! SPA: The services I've had: massage, pedicure, waxing and manicure. Massage: I haven't done a massage service since my favorite well-studied masseuse left, but it is a wonderful experience that I need to get back to. Pedicure: Pedis are my favorite spa service. It's SO relaxing with massage chairs and excellent & knowledgeable pedicurists! Friends from out-of-town always request I book this service for us. They rave about their pedi experiences! And I do, too! BUT here I must take a star away: Scheduling for 2 or more people has been impossible over the past year and a half; even with two different spa services (one mani & one pedi; or one pedi, one hair appt). Front desk staff has not tried to work with me in figuring something else out; no advising on options like reconfiguring services, add an extra tech for a day or anything else--and I've been going there for 15-20 years! Many out-of-towners have been disappointed; as have I. Waxing: I have always been pleased with their waxing services. Especially my bikini area being extra sensitive. Actually, my skin is very sensitive and I never had an issue with pain during or after waxing. No rashes or ingrowns--from brows to underarms! I've tried waxing at home without success so FG is my go to. Sanitary conditions, skilled waxers--quite good. Manicure: I used to get a regular manicure weekly. I could bring my own polish and get a perfect result each time. I've been trying to save money and do it at home, with poor results, so I need to go back for weeklys. They offer many kinds of manis! I have stayed with regular polish, but if I wanted to try another type, it is available. Overall: A pretty great salon & spa! I've had some appt results that I wasn't thrilled with, but nothing horrible--no botched spa or hair services. I would definitely recommend this location! read more

The service was really nice. However the receptionist who took the appointment was so rude and unpleasant. She was completely dismissive , displayed a very rude tone, and saw another colleague laughing at reception while we were standing at the desk. Hospitality is about making guests feel at home, and unfortunately, this interaction ruined our impression. I hope management addresses this behavior read more

Frank Gironda Salon is getting a makeover! Wow do they need it- the salon has been a little stuck behind the times. But I've seen construction and hopefully this glow-up will be amazing in the end! My stylist Jessica is my favorite. I look forward to our time together, catching up on life. We're at the point where 1. I don't have to tell her "please don't round brush my bangs!" (She knows not to) and 2. I trust her to try new things like a long bob or a slight hint of purple in my color. There's always easy parking outside and they always offer me coffee/tea/water. Post-Covid they have magazines! One of my favorite parts about a visit to the salon is catching up on print magazines- it relaxes me. They've got them. I bought a Groupon for a vitamin C facial. The salon is modern and clean. The aesthetician did a good job on the facial overall. However the person who books the appointments and ring you up at the end leaves a lot to be desired. Having to put a card on file is inappropriate and distasteful at best. Charging a "surcharge" fee - even with a Groupon - is completely inappropriate. It is not my responsibility to pay a "surcharge" fee because of inflation. Do Groupons say anything about a surcharge fee? No. Do they tell customers about a "surcharge" fee? No. There is a cost to doing business. Now we are supposed to pay for the service itself, tips to pay your employees, and a "surcharge" fee as well? I can see why this salon is struggling. While it's convenient as I work close by, there are numerous other salons that won't nickel and dime me and won't force me to put my card on file and pay surcharges. Jordan completely destroyed my hair today. Not only did she butcher the cut, leaving it horribly uneven, but they also pulled my hair so violently that I thought my scalp might rip off. It feels like they were trying to yank my entire head off everytime she washed it. Now I'm sitting here with an ice pack on my head because it's throbbing from how hard they tugged. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Save your money!!! I came in a week before my graduation and showed the stylist a picture of a very simple haircut. (Bangs and some face framing) She did absolutely no face framing, no layers and did not style my hair even when I paid for it. She brought in a senior stylist for a second opinion and the stylist told her that she can add more face framing and definitely can add more layers. What a horrible place. They won't even let me exchange an item for another. That has their freakin tag on it. What a joke. It's right after Christmas. I'm sure many unsuspecting people purchased items as gifts and now they won't even let you exchange them for a different product? I've recently moved to Bolingbrook and knew this place via Groupon. I got a Groupon for a haircut with scalp massage. Staff were super friendly and nice and the place was clean. However, the lady who gave me a haircut forgot to clean the hair around my right ear which I found out after I got home which was funny. First of all this place is not following the mask mandate with their employees or their customers. I did not realize this until I was seated and the stylists next to me and their clients were unmasked. The stylist who worked on me highlighted my hair for 3 hours did an awful job, it looked fine under the light in the salon but when I saw it in natural light it looked so bad I wanted to cry. Then day two I noticed that the hair that she cut was choppy and uneven. Will not be going back. My daughter fixed my color and now I have an appointment to get my hair cut tomorrow. I moved to Naperville a year ago. I always get nervous finding a new salon and stylist because my hair always needs toners (it gets that yellow brassy color often) and is very sensitive. I saw Christina and ugh I just love her. She not only did an amazing job with my hair but she is just a beautiful soul inside and out. I'm rating the five stars solely on her because I was so consumed in conversation with her and just love how my hair looks I don't remember much about the salon itself, Lol. They did squeeze me in, but Nina did the *exact* opposite of what I asked her to do. This place is charging COVID fee, it's pathetic! My daughter recently got a haircut, the junior stylist cut her hair uneven and I had to tell her where it was uneven. She kept on fixing it and cutting it shorter! I am a teacher in the Plainfield school system that has been going to Frank Gironda Salon for 12+ years. Because I had a staff meeting that was going to run long and was not going to be able to make my hair appointment, I was told I was going to be charged 50% for the appointment. I asked if I could reschedule, which is what I was hoping to do. The girl I spoke with spoke to the manager, who would not make an exception for me. Frank Gironda is not my go-to place for hair as I'm very loyal to my salon, but I am a sucker for a good deal when it comes to blowouts. I'm a busy gal with long, thick hair so anytime I don't have to wash and style it myself is a win! My first visit here was for a wash and blowdry on the day of my sister's wedding rehearsal dinner. I was looking for a salon that could get me in last minute which is where Frank Gironda came in. My hair was styled nicely and the stylist I had was very fast and friendly. I think the blow dry and style was like $40 which was a bit more than I'd prefer to pay. It would be one thing if I was getting the whole blowdry bar experience with a scalp massage, hot towel, etc. but that wasn't the case. It was just what it said - a wash and style. What brought me back to Frank Gironda was a Groupon I found that was offering two Redken Heatcure hair-conditioning treatments with a blow dry for $49 which was listed as a $116 value. I called for availability and was able to get an appointment the same day! I wasn't too sure what the treatment entailed exactly, but it said that it helps restore damaged hair to its former glory. Sounds good to me! I was offered a beverage when I arrived at the salon and was quickly taken to one of the stylist's stations. He was very nice and explained the process to me before getting started. First he washed my hair. This was pretty much your standard wash, nothing like the washes I've had at blow dry bars before. Then he applied the specialized formula to my hair and we went back to his station to dry. The formula is actually activated with the Heatcure tool (which is basically a hair straightener), so he ran that through my hair wet. After that he blew it dry with the hair dryer and a big round brush. Apparently the treatments can last up to 10 washes. My hair did look and feel good that day, but it usually does whenever someone else does my hair! I can't say the Redken Heatcure treatment was life-changing, but for less than $25 a treatment and it includes a wash and dry, I'm a fan. I told my stylist about how I was having issues with a dry scalp and was looking for a good shampoo to help with this. He asked what my price point was and gave me a couple suggestions. I felt he was a tad pushy with the products, but I do realize that's part of his job. I ended up purchasing the shampoo, but not the conditioner because I felt it just cost too much. I have one treatment and blow-dry left, so I will be back at some point to utilize it! read more

My 5 pm appt. was changed to 5:45, which I graciously agreed to. Got stuck in traffic, gave the salon a courtesy call that I was running 5 min, late and was asked to hold while she asked my stylist if she would still be able to do my hair. I was so excited to try a new place for nails! I grew up in Naperville, yet never had tried Frank Gironda. My friends gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, and I held onto it until a special time to use it! My experience at Frank Gironda fell so far behind every other place I've gotten my nails done. There wasn't a huge section of no-chip nail colors, but I was pleased with the color I found. I was surprised that after filing and buffering my nails, I didn't wash my hands before color was applied. It made for a gritty experience. It had been 4 months since I got my nails done, so my cuticles needed some work, and I didn't feel like much time was devoted to them and they weren't cleaned up. You can see that in the photos. My nails were given two coats of color without a top coat. Maybe Frank Gironda doesn't do top coats, but I'm just not used to that. The color and strokes were applied unevenly, and the day I got them done, it already looked grown out. Parts of my nails didn't get painted, especially the sides. It is my understanding that no-chip polish should last approximately 2 weeks, but within 6 days, 3 nails were significantly chipped. The day that I got them done, my husband was trying to make me feel better about my nails by saying that I used a gift certificate to cover most of it, but I felt sad to report to my friends that gave me the gift that I would never go back. When I showed them my nails, they didn't hold back their opinion of them! Not good! They truly looked like I had done them myself. Now that my nails are chipped, and it's only been a week, I will confidently say I would never go back nor recommend Frank Gironda to a friend. First three pictures are taken the day I got them done! Toula and Kelly (from the Frank Gironda in Naperville off Route 59) came to my parents' home to do everyone's hair for my wedding day; I am so very grateful that they did! Both Toula and Kelly have such wonderful, kind demeanors and we had a BLAST with them. My parents' house was full of singing, dancing, and lots of laughs. It was so special to have them there with us to partake in the fun and also to provide their hair services. I'd recommend Toula and Kelly of Frank Gironda not only because they are so much fun, but also because they are extremely skilled in doing hair! All of my bridesmaids looked gorgeous with simple, hair down curls; some of them were worried because they've had issues keeping a curl in their hair, but they needn't have worried! Toula and Kelly made sure their hair stayed the whole night long. The mothers also looked perfect with their updos; Toula and Kelly used as many bobby pins as were needed! Lastly, my hair also was perfect and stayed perfect the whole night; I really felt beautiful and owe Toula a huge THANKS for helping me feel that way. read more

Kelly (hair), Summer (skin) and Bianca (massages). Unfortunately, I'm unable to write 3 different reviews for each individual to boost the salons ratings. It seems that I have been going to this salon for somewhere around 17 years?? It doesn't seem like that nor do I want to admit it, lol. I have never ever even experienced any of the aforementioned women any less than a professional and friendly mood. We go here atleast once every 4-6 weeks for a service(s). Kelly is the 3rd person in my life to cut my hair, so with that being said.....I don't need to elborate. Summer - Kelly referred me to Summer. I have had a few facials here and there, but broke out every time. I have never broken out after one of Summer's facials and I haven't been to a dermatologist since meeting her. I referred my boyfriend to her and he is there every other month now. His job clogs his pores extremely bad on a continuous basis. His skin is beautiful now even in the summer, thanks to Summer's magic and advice. Bianca - Both Summer and Kelly referred my boyfriend and I to Bianca for massages. We both have several issues considering we lift up to 400-500lbs at any given time at work. After one massage with Bianca, I was able to sit up on the table and rotate my legs off the without several pain, actually I had no pain.....that hasn't happened since I've been injured. At one point, I was unable to put my underwear on without leaning against a wall and sliding down the wall to a squatting position. I feel I was fixed in an unheard of amount of time. I've kept it short and simple because these women are nothing less than absolutely amazing. They speak for themselves. I've also been in a couple predicaments that both Kelly and Summer went out of there way to help me re-situatute. My very expensive blow dryer decided to sear off 3 inches of my hair while round brushing my mane and of course, it was right in the middle of the top of my head. Needless to say, she somehow managed to rectify it the same day and I couldn't tell.....believe me, I was like a baboon trying to find where my damaged hair was lying. Nothing. One Friday morning, I woke up and my face somehow had several acne overnight. I went from a few normal blemishes here and there once in a while to thinking I needed a dermatologist. Summer luckily got me in that Friday. She performed some kinda of magic and went home to sulk in my own misery. I washed my body and dry shampoo'ed my hair every day, but didn't wash my face until Monday morning. Everyday, literally 1/4 of the acne cleared up with no scarring or redness and Monday morning at work no one was the wiser. Now, I even asked Summer if I was over exaggerating and she politely informed me that this was no where near my normal and that I may break out afterwards and it may take a few visits to get the issue under control. Summer is also the only person I will ever go to for a facial. She is very good at what she does and I have never broken out after one of her facials like I have in the past with others. Only 2 reviews for this place? jeez. this is why its so hard to find a salon when u first move to naperville :/ when i had first moved to plainfield, i would drive down 59 and always see frank gironda. but before trying this place, i tried the head hair stylist at michael graham. he decided to totally thin my beautiful indian hair out which took forever to recover from :( anyways, i gave him one more try and this time he totally screwed up my bangs (im so picky about my bangs) anyways, i stopped in at frank gironda and asked if anyone could fix my bangs asap (i was leaving out of the country the next day) and thats when i met Jodi. Jodi totally read my mind and has cut my hair ever since. Theres just no pretentiousness at all here and its so refreshing. i was actually scared to voice my opinion at other places but Jodi made me feel so comfortable.. she cuts my layers so well and i always have great conversations with her :) since then, i've moved to chicago where i have had other haircuts, but i recently found myself back to Jodi for a bang trim ;) read more
