I was not told that I ordered a item not stocked and now we still haven't received it and is costing our project significant delays since we can't pass inspection without this item so construction has been stopped. I've called my rep Valerie multiple times and left voicemails and also called the store directly. No one answered or returned my calls any of the times. (They are not eager to respond to emails either.) Horrible customer service. Our contractor recommended this place and he is very disappointed now too. I do NOT recommend.

We are building a home remotely in the mountains of North Carolina, but are fortunate enough to live close to Dominion. It is certainly overwhelming to consider the scope and scale of a new build, and to think about what you would like the lighting to look like and how you would like it to function when the space doesn't even exist. We had the absolute best time working with Josh. First, he helped us hone our aesthetic vision, and to build cohesion into the lighting design. He also helped us wrestle with the technical challenges of recessed lighting in high slope ceilings. Through the entire process, he gave us the confidence we needed to easily make decisions and to put the vision into action for our home. Throughout the entire process, Josh was highly responsive, he communicated with clarity, and he had a fantastic sense of humor, challenging each of us appropriately when we were stuck in some kind of rut. His efficiency is remarkable and his design eye and skill is obvious. On top of all of this, he produced documentation that clearly conveyed the plan to our electrician, making our recent electrical walkthrough the best one he had ever been on. The electrician told us that most of the time people arrive with little to no clue of what they want, and it is a laborious, frustrating and overwhelming process. We arrived with our Josh plans and knew exactly where things were going to be and what they would look like. We are very excited to see this house come into reality. We know the lighting we selected will bring warmth and beauty to to spaces, both interior and exterior, and we feel that Dominon and Josh provided great value to us and our project.

Responded very quickly and offered to come the same day, on a Saturday, no less, so we appreciated…read morethat. We needed curtains hung. I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.
