Large brisket platter
Laurie M.

Best BBQ we've had around here!!! The brisket platter and smoked turkey sandwich were both outstanding!! Love love love the western decor, wonderful ambience all the way around! The prices were a tad bit high, especially since no sides were included. One slice of bread with the large brisket platter seemed kinda skimpy.

We have been enjoying just stopping in for lunch at places that look good when we drive by. This was another fun experience. We stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed the food. I had a Cajun burger that was really tasty. My partner tried the Verde bowl with an add-on of brisket. The brisket had to be handled with care as it was fall apart tender. Really tasty. We had to bring much of the bowl home for another meal later. Very nice place and great food.

Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits is a new BBQ joint in downtown Foley, Alabama which is part of a small chain based out of Arizona where they have three locations. I sampled their BBQ brisket and a burger. The burger was alright but it didn't come with a side. The brisket was also alright but it doesn't compete with the local area's best BBQ joint which is Hog Wild Beach & BBQ in Gulf Shores which has better brisket! The price difference between the brisket and the burger at Colt Grill was so small that I found the brisket to be a far better deal so I would stick with that instead of ever getting the burger again. There are just simply a lot of better burgers in the area so no need to eat a simply alright burger here when the brisket is a superior choice. Colt Grill does have an impressive selection of BBQ sauces but sadly they were out of some of them during my visits. They do have a nice bar inside and they have done a nice job of creating a cool ambiance here. The service was alright but a tad slow on refiling my iced tea. Overall if you don't want to deal with the beach traffic to head down to Hog Wild Beach & BBQ then Colt Grill can give you a decent BBQ fix in downtown Foley.

Great food and big portions! I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, and it was fabulous! They had a lot of BBQ sauces to choose from. I had the Smoked Whiskey brownie, which wasn't my favorite. The brownie was more of a cake. You order when you come in and they call your number/name and you can either go and get your food OR someone will bring it to you. But overall, I loved the atmosphere and the great BBQ! Will definitely be coming back!

Food here was amazing, I found this place researching good bbq places to eat in the area, the service was outstanding, as soon as we entered we we're greeted and the staff asked was it our first time so that she can explain the menu and ordering process, the dining area was larger as well as the bar area, and the chairs where extremely comfortable.

Combo platter, zero flavor except the turkey.

Wow, overall experience was horrible. The pulled pork tastes like mush. The supposedly clean plates were gross dirty. I mean disgusting. The baby back ribs and brisket had great texture but zero flavor. You might as well bring some wet shredded paper and put sauce on it. Lots of sauce options so if you don't want to taste the meat and just pour sauce on the stuff, this may be a place for you. The smoked half chicken was okay at best. Definitely will not return.

Meat sampler platter. Great for the price.

We went Saturday. It wasn't our destination but we passed by and decided to try it out. On one hand, many complain about self service (me not really something to complain about) when we walked in, we were greeted and given our option of a self service dining or full service at the bar. We chose the bar. Alex, our bartender/server/conversation maker was polite, friendly and welcoming. We ordered drinks and food. Enjoyed the atmosphere and company. They've done a really nice job fixing the place up. I had the meat sampler. I liked the ribs, pulled pork and sausage. The turkey was amazing. The brisket was good. Nothing wrong with it. Just needed a little more flavor IMO. I'd still order it again. My forever date had the 1/2 chicken, sides and an order of sweet potato fries. We enjoyed it all. I didn't mind getting up to get my own BBQ sauce. There were several to choose from and all were good. I liked the Carolina and the habanero sauces most. I have no problem not tipping if I don't get served. We appreciated the full set or at the bar and the drinks were great. I can recommend the huckleberry and the mule. And the strawberry margarita. We will be back to support this local business.

Cold reheated Smoked Mac and Cheese. $4.75 !! Horrible smoked brisket and dry Turkey Sausage

Placing your order was clumsy at best with one person answering phone while taking orders. Was not informed that you needed to acquire your napkins while placing your order .... It's bbq.... Really? Ordering a drink from the bar was also a challenge as bar tenders only paid attention to those seated at bar. It was 4:30 pm ...... Have to pick up your own food as totally self service. Very high price for self service. Food was substandard, Smoked Mac and Cheese was micro waved in plastic cup $4.75 a serving. Tasted like left over Mac and cheese reheated in microwave and it was. Plus was cold in center. Best thing on smoked sampler player was turkey. Brisket was steamed to obtain tenderness and totally lacked a smoke ring. Zero flavor. The bread , onions and pickle were soggy and old. Extremely disappointed, especially after spending $67 for two people. Will not be back

Very nice ambiance. Humongous bbq sandwich which was the lunch special for $10. Great value and was delicious with great homemade fries. Was visiting my friend in Summerdale and will be back next time I'm in town

Love this place! You can get full service at the bar or order at the register and pick it up yourself.. no server. Brisket is smoked to fork tender with pecan wood. Specials daily. Beer, wine and full bar.

Brisket was 10/10 melted in my mouth Baby back ribs 10/10 were very tender and flavorful . Some of the best bbq I've tasted around here . Also get the cowboy cookie !! It's amazing

Food was great! My only issue is cashier's station asking for a tip when it's a self serve restaurant

Food Poisoning - Friday night Feb. 7. The BBQ tasted great, but it gave me the worst food poisoning I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.

BEST!!!! Bbq ever!!!!!…read more Chris, the general manager is super awesome came and chatted with us for a little bit! We've been back multiple times!

Food: I'm actually gonna rate each item because this is my Yelp account and I do what I want!…read moreColeslaw - 6/10: It was missing something, like some heat or like raisins (kidding, kidding...). It wasn't bad just not the best I've had. Brisket Sandwich - 8/10: Big PLUS for offering a "lean" version! Nice. The only thing I would say is that the sauce was a little soupy. I prefer a thick, tangy BBQ sauce... but that's just me. Overall a great cut of beef! Mac n Cheese balls - 10/10: I've had cheese balls before, but these were friggin' awesome. They put brisket in with them! The outer layer was perfectly crisp, delicious Mac n cheese inside... I probably should not have eaten all 4 but I couldn't stop! Dang those were good. Cheesy Cornbread - 10+/10: It goes KFC biscuits, Red Lobster biscuits and then blowing both of those out of the water are these bad boys! Let's just say I'm glad they only gave me two. If I would have known how awesome those were, I probably would have ONLY gotten a meal of only biscuits! The cornbread wasn't too sweet, the edges were crispy and chewy, cheese in the middle... dude... I was done after those. Epic. Service: Good service, no complaints. But I saw another post on here about the "you order at the front but then they bring food to you" feel. So you feel obligated to give a tip...? But they didn't take your order at your table. It's just one of those places that is in between a fast food and formal service. Regardless, they were still nice and professional. Shout out to Eric for suggesting the Mac n Cheese balls! What an epic name! Atmosphere: It's like a cabin-ish feel inside, kind of like other BBQ places. It would be really funny if there was a BBQ place that had like, I dunno, an Anime theme or something...? I mean, that's a bit off the wall, but I'm just Sayin (see what I did there?) that all BBQ joints have pretty much the same feel. Cozy enough and clean so that's a plus! Price: Middle of the road. Solid meal will run you 25$ plus tip. But obviously it gets pricy if you get different cuts or more meat. Still even those prices weren't horrible. Oh and also CRUSHED ICE!!! Overall: Just three words for this one. "I'll be back," A.Schwarenegger
