I don't have dental insurance so this was a great deal! Debbie the front desk lady wad super nice and welcoming. The gal who did the x-rays was very nice as well (sorry I forgot her name). Karen was the hygienist! I scheduled my 6mo follow up with her! She was great and helped me understand what was going on with my teeth and spent a lot of time with me. My front teeth on the top and bottom have been crooked and crowded for years. It finally got so bad that I was noticing a bit of a snaggle tooth sticking out when I smiled, even with my lips closed. I asked about Invisaligns and Dr. Gutnick pointed me towards Reveal brand clear aligners. You'd imagine that these would not be cheap, and you're right, but every single person who works at this office is amazing, and between my insurance and Care Credit, we made it happen. I'm on my last set of trays now, and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. I'll share before and afters once I'm done, but for now here are some facts: - Reveals are super clear, super thin, and don't require you to get those little nubs put onto your teeth as you might have seen with some Invisalign ads. - You will be told that you should not drink wine or coffee with them in, as they may discolor. Mine did not. I drink coffee every morning with them in and it seems to have no effect. Yay! - Yeah it is pretty uncomfortable when you put a new tray in. Especially the first time! And getting them off your teeth can be difficult when they are new as well. Plan on having yogurt, smoothies, etc for the first couple days of a new tray, as biting into something like a sandwich is pretty much out of the question. - You will likely have to have some teeth filed down on the sides before your first tray, and maybe again in the middle of the whole thing. That's to make space for your teeth to move around a bit. It's not the most comfortable experience (imagine flossing with sandpaper), so take some ibuprofen before your appointment. - When you take them out to eat, it's a pretty drooly affair. Now is the perfect time to get them, since nobody is really eating out much and you don't have to worry about fiddling with them at a restaurant. I have absolutely no regrets about going with the Reveal aligners. They are clear, unobtrusive, thin, and they work! Oh if I could award 10 stars. I am having total dental reconstruction, or at least it feels like that, and I have to tell you all. The team at Columbia River Dentistry is far and away the best. I am feeling so good after my first extractions and can hardly wait for the process to continue and move to the next phase. Dr. Dustin and the team are so cool. I heard about Parkrose via Groupon and my first thought was, "NE 122nd Avenue?! I'm not going to Pendleton to get my teeth cleaned!" And then my never-subservient index finger clicked and I was going. Very glad I did. I scored a great 10 mile bike ride in the sun on the way (I'd recommend taking the bike path along Marina Drive, which is great...and beats the hell out of sucking fumes and dodging irate vehicles (and their equally angry drivers) near Columbia and I-205) and arrived a scant 2 minutes before my appointment. Sorry for the long parentheses...what was I talking about? Right! Dentists. The receptionist was cheery and friendly and even brought my parched self some water. Stephanie the dental hygienist was quick, cheery and totally professional...and their digital x-ray machine (along with all the rest of their equipment) was the best you can get. (Not that I know medical equipment - I'm not in dental sales! - but it was shiny and my brain didn't simmer when they x-rayed me.) After my teeth were shiny and (almost) white, Dr. Nathan Dustin checked out my cavities and sent me on my merry way. Apparently my PREVIOUS dentist had made a mistake with a couple fillings and I needed to have them replaced because there were cavities brewing beneath their white facade. Thumbs 100% down... Don't be skerred. Parkrose is a short jaunt off the freeway, Sandy Blvd or Columbia, parking is free, the office is spotless and the service impeccable. Check it out! read more

I have been a patient here for many years. I found Dr Dustin after a trauma, looking for a specialist in dental implants and have been a regular patient ever since. Dr Dustin did an amazing job with my implant, he is very attentive to details, extremely courteous and always making sure he listens to concerns, answers questions and overall taking the necessary time needed to ensure you're well-informed and at ease. The rest of the staff are just awesome too. From the office administrator Debbie, to the hygienists Karen and Krista and the rest of the staff. I've had Karen several times and Krista once, they really do a thorough job cleaning, explaining what's going on, making sure you're comfortable and giving overall great advice how to improve your oral hygiene. Overall the core staff has more or less remained the same throughout all the years i've been going here. I really recommend this place. I keep going here even though i'm 30+ miles away from their office on the west side of town and there are plenty of dentistries over here too. read more

I have been going here for years! I started when I used to work around the block and coworkers had recommended this office. Since then I have changed employment but still drive here for all of my dental needs. Dr. Dustin is a gentle dentist and his staff are caring and upbeat. They have been the same core staff from when I started going here which is nice. Makes me less anxious seeing familiar faces. Yes, I am an anxious patient! They have made modifications in their treatment plans to accommodate for this - things I didn't even know were possible before they mentioned it to me, thanks guys! :) Another plus is if you need a crown, Dr. Dustin makes it right there on the spot. You leave the office with your permanent, beautiful new tooth and can start eating with confidence right away. No more temporaries popping off during inconvenient moments. read more

I purchased the Groupon for this office as well. Like many of the other reviewers, I don't have insurance, and finding an affordable place was a struggle. This location is waaaay out of the way for me, but I was so happy with my experience that I'll make the trek out there whenever I need to. Karen was my hygienist and she was so friendly and knowledgeable! I was a little worried about going to the dentist with a Groupon, thinking that I might get sub-par service or be "upsold" on more expensive procedures. That wasn't the case at all. My visit was very pleasant. I have one problem area that needs to be fixed, but there was no pressure to get it done right away. Dr. Dustin explained the options and before I left, the receptionist printed out a summary of what I needed to have done, including the cost, so I can determine when I can have the work done. I began visiting Dr Bergeson in April 2017. After more than 4 decades of dental care at other facilities, I was very pleased to find a dentist with integrity, who really cared about giving the best service, considering my pocket book. I trust him completely. My last visit in December was my first with Dr Dustin. This visit included an assistant who obviously had zero experience using the suction, filling cure light, and all other equipment. He was in need of constant instruction on how to hold the equipment, and left me doubtful with the quality of my fillings. After replacing 2 fillings in 2 of my front teeth, Dr Dustin remarked that they were large and should be capped, and he wanted to do all 4 (one of which already has a post in the root) however one of the teeth merely had a chip. I explained that I was not there for aesthetic dentistry, was a single, cash client, and could not afford the $4000+ for those crowns. He added them to my 'patient plan' anyway, along with an implant, never once discussing the possibility of a partial denture. As I sat with Debbie to pay my bill, in cash, it was discovered that she had 'forgotten' to post the last $600+ cash payment I made to my account. She seemed puzzled why the ledger was showing I owed all this money. I mentioned I was curious as well when I had received a bill from them, but thought it was a mix up with the insurance company. After some searching, she found her portion of the hand written receipt she had given me and applied the money to the account. My front teeth are more sensitive now than before, there is a ridge at the back of one of the teeth where the filling is not flush with the enamel, and it is sharp. Upon a second opinion visit with another facility I was told that it is not necessary to cap the front teeth unless I was wanting cosmetic dentistry, which I am not. Needless to say, my records are being transferred to the new facility where I will get the remainder of work done. Dr Dustin "lost" me when he suggested capping a perfectly healthy tooth just so it would 'match' the other, unnecessary work he wanted to do. I am quite saddened to have to say goodbye to Dr Bergeson, who again, is the best dentist I have ever visited in my 50+ years. read more

I had been shopping around for a dentist for several weeks because I don't have dental insurance and it had been a year since my last cleaning. As luck would have it, they offered a $59 x-rays, cleaning & exam on Groupon. I hesitated to purchase despite the great value (the next cheapest place I had found was going to cost at least $120 for the same services) because of their location. I live in The Pearl and don't have a car. Also, I will be leaving Portland this month and will not be back for about a year as I'm traveling around the world, so I had a very narrow window to get in for the appointment. The day I purchased the Groupon, I call Parkrose to make the appointment. Already they were booked up until September so I put myself on their cancellation list. After not hearing from them for about a week, I decide to call them once a week to remind them I needed to get in quickly if there were any cancellations. My efforts finally paid off and I had my appointment today. While it was not terribly complicated to get to their office from downtown (you can take a combination of buses and/or the MAX), it still took about 80 minutes door-to-door from The Pearl. Also, it's worth mentioning that their location on NE 122nd is in a bit of an industrial area with a lack of sidewalks from the nearest bus stop most of the way to their office. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist and given a few pages of standard paperwork to fill out. That took less than 5 minutes and soon an assistant led me back to the room to start the process. She introduced herself and settled me in, then took all the x-rays (full mouth) which took about 10 minutes. Then the hygienist came in and introduced herself and we proceeded to chat (as much as I was able) during my very thorough cleaning. Karin was super friendly and extremely diligent with the entire process (plaque removal, power cleaning, flossing). I really appreciated the extra time (almost an hour) she took to ask questions in the beginning then make sure my teeth were as clean as possible. Immediately after she finished, Dr. Dustin came in and chatted with me before taking a good look at my teeth and my x-rays. He made sure to thank me for coming in because of the Groupon and indicated that he hoped I would come back the next time I need dental care. Overall, I highly recommend Parkrose Dental Studio. Their offices are very clean & modern, with all the latest equipment. The entire staff was super friendly. Of course, I understand if you are in urgent need of dental care, you may need to consider the possibility that it could be several months before you can get an appointment due to the popularity of the Groupon. But this was a great deal and I had such a great experience that I would still go back even if I had to pay out of pocket with no Groupon. read more

I have worked with this office for over 2 years now and have had many dental procedures done. I was looking for a dentist who would be with me for the long haul and I have found him. Dr Dustin and the entire staff at his office have been very kind, helpful, and informative. I have had a lot of dental work for the past 25 years and his office has been one of the best. He is always honest with me about what is going on; when my teeth are causing problems, he has always been there to talk to me and check in both in the evenings and on the weekends. I try to be a good patient, and my teeth are super high maintenance and cause me a lot of anxiety so I am super grateful to have found this office. I was a patient here about 2 years ago and I had a few things done. First, I was looking for a dentist who made crowns on the spot and dr Dustin did. Second, I was looking for a place that was open on Saturdays and his practice did. But I'm posting this review not just because of those. I had a few crowns done and when I went for a checkup now 2-3 years later, the dentist was wholly impressed with the work dr Dustin did: very precise and perfectly matching the tooth. I knew he did because I trusted him then and I never developed any issues since. But having another dentist tell me that someone else did a truly fine job on my teeth strengthened my conviction about dr Dustin's excellent work. He's kind of a perfectionist when you're there but you want that for your teeth and that's why I wanted to post this review to recommend dr Dustin's work to others. All Im goin to say is if you offer a coupon for $20 for xrays, exam, cleaning then honor it, not just to lure patients in then try to rake them over the coals, very dissapointed, all i wanted was to get my teeth cleaned,and was really looking forward to it only to be told that my cleaning was goin to be more extensive and that the cost was goin to be significantly more not including that dr. dustin after examining me recommended thousands of dollars of work. (This update was delayed (considerably) because I misplaced my yelp password.) Shortly after my initial review, I was messaged by the dentist. I responded by telling him that I stood by what I said in the review. I also asked him if it was their normal practice to apply new charges to a credit card which had been given to them during a previous visit without approval from the cardholder. I just assumed my card data was destroyed/deleted after use, but they apparently hold on to the information. I noticed new charges to my account BEFORE my daughter's next scheduled appointment, without notification and without my consent. The money had to be refunded because the appointment was canceled. He replied that that is not the way his office does things. Well, I beg to differ, and have credit card statements to prove it. read more

What fantastic and phenomenal people! I have SEVERE anxiety when it comes to dentists. The first visit both Shasta and Dr. Jung were amazing and helped to set my mind at ease with their kindness. When I went back in for my root canal, the young gentleman (I'm so sorry I don't have your name) and woman (yours too :/) helped Dr. Jung and they both were very comforting by just chatting with me and bringing me a blanket. Even Dr. Jung went to get my girlfriend in the lobby to come calm me down! I just went back today for my temporary crown and was met again with such kindness and professionalism. Dr. Jung even tucked me in lol. I met another young girl for a few minutes this time and she was also very sweet. The financier is also a very kind woman. I know her job cannot be easy, but she is really good at it and doesn't force or pressure you to do anything. I drive really far to come here but I think it's worth it! read more

I have been looking for a new dental office for months! I am a bit nervous when coming to the dentist, due to bad experiences in the past. When calling Columbia River Dentistry I noticed their enthusiasm about welcoming me to their office. I do not have the best dental health and was embarrassed about coming in. When speaking with Debbie she made it very clear that everything will be ok on my first visit. This is what helped me to actually "show up". As I walked into the office I noticed the receptionist was very warm and welcoming as well. They then brought me back to the operatory where they started on x rays, which is usually an uncomfortable experience. Though with their state of the art technology I was able to watch the x ray pop up in front of me, this made the process a bit more interesting. Dr. Dustin then came in with yet another warm, welcoming hello. We started to discuss the treatment that was going to be needed and of course I was a bit nervous. They offered me Care Credit, which a great way to help with a payment plan to fit what I can afford at this time. We have now started on my treatment and I am more confident than I have been in years about my smile. I want to thank the whole Columbia River Dentistry team for helping with my dental phobia.
