Wow! Learned about this place at the last minute and was able to snag a reservation for that evening. So glad that we did. Had a cocktail and their delicious lemon poundcake. The atmosphere was amazing as well as the service. Will definitely return and enjoy dinner at some future point. I just can't comment enough about how spectacular the space is. If it weren't raining, we would've sat outside, but fortunately, due to the rain, they moved our table inside. Top notch and I highly recommend.

My review is only for the restaurant as I did not stay here and I also never ventured inside. My friends and I came here recently and enjoyed a decadent dinner with fancy cocktails. We sat on their lovely outdoor patio and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and the fantastic service. I elected to try one of their featured cocktails and it was really good. I also dined on the Gulf Fish entree and it was an absolute delight. I look forward to returning soon with my significant other.

We came on the street car for an afternoon drink, and this was the perfect place and atmosphere to do so! We wanted a break from the St. Charles street car, so we stopped at the Columns Hotel because it looked so beautiful on the outside. Right when we walked into the patio area, we were greeted and were offered to sit inside or outside on the patio. Because of the beautiful day we decided to sit outside. The patio is very nice and has nice tables, chairs and umbrellas. I felt like we were in our own oasis with the trees everywhere and a courtyard like vibe. We just wanted drinks so I got the Tommy's margarita and my friend got rose. The margarita was ok, nothing special, and my friend had to keep sending her glass back because there was cork residue in her wine. She had to do this twice. Service was decent too. After drinks, we explored inside. It is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. The bar inside is so intimate and cozy. There were different rooms with one being a coffee shop. I really felt that I was in a New Orleans mansion. This was the perfect place to take a break and get a drink!

Beautiful place to stop in for a quick cocktail! The interior is amazing! We would recommend coming here and sitting on patio too!

Columns is an amazing place if you are looking to dine outside and enjoy the New Orleans weather. Best in the spring and late summer before it gets too hot or too cold to sit outside. Had reservations for the restaurant and was seated immediately which is always nice. Got an amazing seat in the greenery by a fire pit which was a nice addition. The view of the building and St Charles with the streetcar is what makes this place special as well as the amazingly decorated interior and exterior. The food here is good but in my opinion nothing to die for. An $18 cheeseburger is steep, and while definitely a good burger, it better be astounding for that price point. In addition I order the chopped salad which was also good, but again a $17 salad is steep for something I could have made at home honestly. Not a knock on the food because it was still great, just pricey, but I guess that comes with the venue. Definitely more of a place for the vibes than the level of cuisine but still a must in NOLA!

Cocktail on the porch in the rain was wonderful. The inside is equally as beautiful as the outside. We only visited for the porch drink however I could have lingered here all day!

Columns is a gorgeous hotel located in the Garden District. I did not stay in the hotel but popped over to the restaurant for lunch. It was pretty empty and quiet. I opted to sit inside by the car but they have outdoor seating. I had their apple salad and cheese plate. I also had a drink, the St Charles 75. Everything was delicious! The cheese plate had an interesting floral cheese with flower petals in it. The St Charles 75 was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. The venue is really just so stunning. They had a bathroom next to the bar that was also beautiful! Unsure if there's ADA accessible entrances. The main entrance to the hotel has several stairs.

I am definitely adding Columns to my list of "must go to bars" when I'm in NO!!! My girlfriends and I stopped in for a drink on our streetcar bar crawl and this spot was amazing. The decor and inside was historic. We were greeted very warmly and immediately seated. Our waiter brought us some drinks and the party continued! We had a good time here!

We stopped by The Columns for some quick birthday drinks, and they absolutely delivered. The whole place is seriously Insta-worthy--from the beautiful historic details to the cozy, elegant setup. Total photo opps everywhere. They were so sweet to us--gave our group a comfy sofa setup and even brought out champagne to celebrate the birthday girl. Such a thoughtful touch! We ended up spending a lot of time at the bar (because obviously), and let me just say--that espresso on tap is everything. I'm still thinking about the espresso martini--it's easily one of my all-time faves now. My friend couldn't stop raving about her Pimm's Cup, too. The bartenders and even the manager were absolute dolls. So friendly, fun, and somehow always there right when we needed something. We were never thirsty--ever. Can't wait to go back!

Highly recommend the happy hour, the seating is beautiful wherever you are. The drinks where only 8 each and strong. Not a light weight but I was feeling it after the first one & took my second to go. We also got the fries which were super good.

Reviewing just the bar (and the atmosphere overall). Whenever we come to NOLA, we make sure to drop in for a cocktail - in great weather it's lovely to sit on the front porch, but the bar is great as well. Service is always good as are the cocktails. Easy to get to on the St. Charles streetcar.

Beautiful, from the patio area to the bar and the little nooks in between. We came for a nice date night to enjoy the food and cocktails. Pretty busy but great atmosphere. The food was only ok. I had a salad with shrimp and my bf had the steak and frites. For cocktails, we had a Sidecar, Old Fashioned, and a Whiskey Sour. Drinks were also ok. Izzy was our waitress, and she was amazing. I may come back to enjoy the patio area or experience their brunch, but that would be it.

This place is TOP NOTCH. The ambiance is so perfect and the drinks/food are superb. The gift shop areas are unique. We went at night and it was absolutely breathtaking. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I cannot wait to go back and maybe even stay there. Must go! A true hidden gem

Is your patio seating covered / do you have umbrellas? Wondering if it'd be too hot for outdoor seating in June...

Do you need to make reservations to just enjoy a Sazerac or three on the porch or patio without dining?

Good morning. You do not need to make a reservation for our patio. We do recommend making a reservation for our porch. This can be done via Resy.

Is your Happy Hour still around?

If you are not a guest, are you allowed access to the balcony for drinks/dining or are you limited to the porch and brick patio?

Unfortunately the second floor is only for hotel guests and those looking to do a private event.

Can we stop by and grab drinks from the bar and sit on the porch if we do not plan to dine here?

    Yes! Absolutely!

I want to start by saying how excited I am for the development of the entire Oretha Castle Haley corridor. I think in a year it is going to be one of the hottest areas in the city. It took me a few minutes to actually find this place at first. My good ol' GPS just led me to the 1400 block of OCH and left me to find the actual building on my own. Just a note: it's on a corner and I took a picture of the door, so that you can be on the lookout. The venue itself is lovely. It's a wide open space with a nice bar and plenty of seating. There is gorgeous art on the wall and I like that there is a lot of space to move around. Big selling point: the air conditioning here works like a champ. A lot of times you get into these old buildings, and the ac can't keep up with the space, but that was not the case here. Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.
