The first time I walked by and saw the chandler I had to go in and see this lobby. I thought to myself that this was a place that if you had to ask what it cost to stay here you couldn't afford it. But I was wrong and it is very affordable! In those days it was filled with stunning antiques, the bar was drop dead gorgeous, and the rooftop pool was so much fun. Then it closed, was purchased by Marriott, and made to look like any other middle of the road hotel. Gone are the antiques, the bar that came from Paris and the rooftop pool. The bar is all red velvet walls, the pool leaks so they walled it off along with the fitness center. Rooms are blah. Lobby is boring. They did keep some paintings which they hung upside down because that's what they did to the hotel. I wasted 5 nights of upgrades. The only thing upgraded in our room was a air purifier in the corner! What a disappointment that was. As was the entire experience of staying here. It's not a Grand Dame anymore. I won't be back.

They assisted with luggage and walking my 93 year old grandmother up the stairs and through those luxurious doors. The ambiance and esthetics are breath taking. The lobby is adorned with antique gold and cream crown molding with high back contemporary Victorian style furniture, red sapphire inspired lounge and marbled floor dining room. The check in process was seamless. Ms. Stacey and Meliana welcomed us with open arms and kindness. We were provided detailed information about Wi-Fi, amenities, room service and dining options. Arthur the houseman helped with our bags, guided us toward the elevators to view our room for the night. Once we arrived to our room, the aroma of cleanliness with refreshing with luxury curated scents of citrus and herbaceous scents of white tea. There was a large computer desk with huge wall to floor lamp and Keurig tea/coffee maker to help complete computer work. The queen beds were adorned with down plush comforters, four fluffy pillows and a multicolor decorative pillow. The full curtain and sheer drapes offer a majestic view along with a solemn nightcap without limited sunlight to disturb sleep if you are a late sleeper. The bathroom is marbled tile shower with vanity sink. Towels are large and full. There is also a large highback chair near the windows for relaxation. There is a flat screen tv with apps. A refrigerator/freezer sits in side of tv console. The room is spacious and gorgeous. We dressed and left hotel for dinner but really did not want to miss the nightly main attraction "PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICH" from 8-9pm, but we were still out dining. Upon our return, we were greeted by BRE and TIA with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The thoughtfulness of these two angels. We checked out the next day with Marquita and she was so delightful and a pleasure to meet. We received food choice recommendations before we were headed to our next destination. We decided to leave our luggage in storage until we return from lunch. Then we were greeted properly and with a smile by Joseph the Bellman. We returned from eating and gathered our luggage and said farewell to all of the staff. My grandmother experienced one of the best birthday's ever. She turned 93 years old and could not stop bragging on how well everyone treat her with kindness. I cannot wait until we return.

She coordinates your arrival to make sure she can check you in when you get there and give you a little tour and explain how all the keys work. She also provides small breakfast snacks in the morning. Her banana bread and cupcakes were delicious! The house itself has such an authentic feel to it, which we really appreciated. I do agree with others saying the bathroom being outside of the room on the top floor was a bit weird, but you don't share it with others so it's OK. There were plenty of towels provided, as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner. Inside of the room, there was water, orange juice, a mini fridge, a microwave, glasses, cups and cutlery. There were also AC units in the windows, so you can stay cool as it heats up outside. The one issue I personally had, is that I have a massive dust mite allergy that started acting up from the first night I spent in the room. It's an older house, so it is to be expected. The allergy only got worse as time went on and I had to take Zyrtec for the duration of our stay because my eyes and throat were very itchy and inflamed. If you suffer from the same allergy, either bring your meds or be prepared to deal with potential issues. Apart from the allergy issue, I highly recommend staying at the Garden District Bed & Breakfast because you won't find a more authentic NoLa experience than this!

So my basic plastic cup of lemon, sugar, and a splash of vodka (I can't even call it a lemon drop) was $20. I wish I had taken a photo of how tiny the cups are.

I was hoping to get a picture with my sister as indicated on the website but I didn't see anyone offer that or see it as an option once we made it there. I thought the mini story in the elevator was fun, short of course but they need to restructure this place I honestly was unimpressed. The website suggest it takes an hour and a half to experience the whole place, we walked the whole place, took pictures, watched 2 videos in well under an hour and a half. The employees were very nice and helpful; maybe I expected to much of Vue but I say temper your expectations.
