I love when you walk into a place and you just know it's going to be good. This was the feeling immediately got opening up the doors at Combs BBQ Central. Tucked away in a neighborhood that "time forgot" Combs BBQ Central is a hidden gem. Between the simple menu, to the kind, helpful young woman behind the register and the eclectic decor- I was smitten. I ordered a brisket sandwich with two sides and an extra "Bo e" to try their ribs. They did not disappoint. The brisket was exceptional. Lean, tender and flavorful and cut semi thick. I think it shows you're in an honest house when the meat is of quality and not too fatty. The bun was tasty but almost superfluous. As expected being in Ohio, the Midwest style molasses-based barbecue sauce was tangy and flavorful. The beans were pretty standard, but the vinegar based coleslaw was very nice. I'm sorry they didn't have collard greens, that would really have been a treat. I'm always looking for hidden gems while touring and will definitely come back here!

The exterior and interior of Combs blew me away. I loved it! Parking was easy and free off street., Service was at the counter and if you want a brew you can walk to their sister business beside. The cashier was very friendly and assisted with selections since it was my first time. I decided on a full rack of ribs with sides of Mac & baked beans. A fountain Mountain Dew to wash it down. I settled in a booth and admired all of the cool music memorabilia. Food delivery was in like 10 minutes. My rack looked ok, but underwhelming with bbq just poured on top. The taste would prove to be extremely disappointing. A cheap quality product imo was used. The bbq sauce saved it. The beans & Mac were average. Not a place I would return to, but would not discourage either. A flat 3 seems to fit my experience the best.

My friend won a $75 gift card and we are from out of town so we tried to to spend all of it and had a hard time doing so. So #1, totally affordable. The restaurant is joined by a breezeway to a full bar with lots of dart boards, a couple other games and a digital jukebox. The food was really good. We all agree the nachos were out of control and the best deal by volume. There was a ton of meat and tasty, tangy bbq sauce. Sides are good. Some bbq places skimp on sides - this is not the place. We liked all sides (esp beans and slaw for me). We had a lot of fun, service was fast and pleasant. Def would stop by if I am driving through another time.

Okay so I ordered from Combs on a whim because I didn't feel like packing my dinner today. They were super fast from calling in my order to being ready was 10 minutes. I ordered the brisket sandwich with baked beans and of course mac and cheese. The brisket sandwich is HUGE!! So big I only ate about half of is. It was so good. Full of flavor and so tender. The baked beans are bbq baked beans so they have a little extra something in them and they are delicious. The mac and cheese is fantastic as well it has a little spice to it and is super creamy. I got carry out but the way the inside is set up currently it looks like there is no dinning in currently. There are some tables outside though. The customer are required to wear masks and the staff are wearing masks as well. There is a small parking lot at the back of the building but it's mostly street parking. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu.

In town for the WGI percussion championships and I was wanting something outside of the chains. Found this place on Yelp. It was delicious! I got the smoked brisket sandwich and Mac-n-cheese and jalapeño cornbread. There was so much meat on the sandwich. I highly recommend this place. It's well worth the drive from Dayton. The atmosphere was really cool in this little place.

Its as good as it gets! BBQ and chicken & pulled pork. Always have had great food here. They cater as well. This has set down area or take out. You order your food, they bring it to you. Fast, hot and fresh. A whole lot easier than roasting a pig in the back yard! Prices are reasonable. read more

I'm a big fan of this place. The brisket is my favorite. Wide loves their pork nachos. Want something smaller? Get the pork slaw hot dog. Baked beans and cole slaw are perfect. Tip: if you want to try the 3 sauces available at the take your have to be very clear you want it without sauce. read more

Here for a couple of soccer games. Showed up at noon expecting a long wait. Got right in, hostess was sweet and hustled!! Rhinegeist beers in cans and BBQ was amazing. Well done Combs. Food A+, friendly staff. read more

Went there for first time. Have to walk up to counter to order. Menu is on chalk board and is hard to see. Staff brings the food to table when ready. Pulled pork was luke warm. Not very many tables more of a take out place. read more

Love, love, love combs bbq! You must try everything on the menu! They offer carry out, have a nice outdoor patio. The service is always great, staff is friendly & professional. They have a nice selection of beer(nothing not tap) but do carry some IPAs and wine and naturally soda and water! The prices are very reasonable and you tell it's all fresh! Best bbq I've ever had! Take all my friends and they also rave about how good they are!! read more

The wings were incredible however they told at least 15 people that came in yo eat, that they ran out of food. Not sure how you plan that poorly. Because I live very close, I'll try again. But if I had driven a distance, I probably wouldn't go back for a long time. No ribs, no brisket and I got the last wings. read more

This is a big fish in a little pond. Ribs tasted oven baked not wood smoked. Had some bark but kind of one note. Got to see 4 sides between me and the wife. All cookie cutter and basic with nothing special or unique about them. Northern bbq lacking soul but if you are in the area and BBQ hungry give it a try. Sauces were really good. read more

The food is always top notch and fresh. We have used them for catering a party and everyone raved on how fantastic the food was and it stayed fresh for hours. Their prices are very competitive and fantastic for the amount of food you get. Must try the corn bread and mac n cheese. read more

Pulled pork nachos --- off the chain good. Pork is super moist and tender. Beef brisket --- awesome. Tender and flavorful. House made BBQ sauces are really good. Chicken wings --- probably the best I've ever had. A must if you like wings. Overall....AWESOME!!! read more

Went there for the first time today. Ribs were wonderful. Baked beans were served hot and nice flavor. Will be going back again soon to try some of the other items. Rib prices were a little high $25 for a full slab....however, the quality made them worth it. read more

Great food clean restrooms cool building and decor. I came in thru by using groupon. Everything was perfect except that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. I came in for seconds and was disappointed. I give them a five because of that as they would have had a 6 star if they were open on Sundays and Mondays. Thanks read more

A decent BBQ joint with great prices. I had the beef brisket . It was a very lean cut, so fine for the health conscious folk out there. That lack of outer fat makes it very dry however. Too lean for my taste, but I did eat it all. Brisket not easy to get right, especially with no fat layer to absorb spices, smoke and caramelize a bit . This one is just "ok". On the positive, Generous portion with baked beans and very tasty green beans on the side. read more

Great food I agree sometimes things are slow. One of the employees said she thought the owner was looking for second location. If I were them I would head to Monroe. Fast growing and a lot people leave the casino, flea markets, shopping and the prisons either working or visiting. This is next to I75. read more

Made a special trip to try this BBQ out. The whole experience was great. Great food great staff. Had the pork nachos, a huge platter with lots of pulled pork and plenty of sour cream, jalapenos, onions and cheese. Got the pulled pork with mac & cheese and cole slaw sides. Great food. Seating is limited though so coming during rush hour can be daunting if you're planning to stay and eat. Usually not too bad unless there is bad weather and the outside seating area isn't useable. Well worth the waiting though. read more

I have had Big Arts, City BBQ, and Elis so this is based on a comparison with them. It was just ok. We had ribs, brisket and pulled pork. We got the last of both the Ribs and Brisket that day.The salad with Pulled Pork was very good. It was very generous for only $4. All the rest including the sides were just ok. Service was slow and not enough containers of extra sauce or paper towels out on the tables. We wouldn't go back. read more

Great lunch today - pulled pork sandwich was tender with the sweet bbq sauce. They made up a spicier bbq sauce for me that worked perfectly. Baked beans were excellent with a little kick. Slaw was solid as was the iced tea! Highly recommended - will come back when I am in the area again. read more

I liked the building and all the memorabilia inside. The staff were all friendly. Cozy little BBQ joint but that's about all the positive I can say. Came in on a Saturday and ordered a rack of ribs. The taste was good but the meat wasn't cooked very well. It was really chewy and didn't fall off the bone at all. The mac n cheese was ok, nothing spectacular. I'm thinking I may have just got a bad rack since the person i was with had ribs that seemed a little more cooked and had the membrane taken off. read more

But when arriving we still waited like twenty minutes for our food and they still thought our order was something else entirely. Needless to say this place is literally a waist of time. I saw maybe 3-4 tables sat and all were waiting on food. No one got their food while we waited...I wish we had reliable bbq around. On top of all of that, I'm just getting to my destination now noticing they gave me six ribs and two corn muffins. I don't understand how they got this wrong because we told them to their face as they were packing it and they still messed it up.

When the server realized that the order wasn't ours, he took the plate that our friend had started eating on and placed it in front of another customer - not even bothered that our friend had touched and eaten some of the food.. At that point we cancelled and left hungry. Absolutely cannot recommend this place.

What use to be my favorite bbq place in ohio is now a shell of itself. The last 4 times I have been they have been out of half of their food. Tonight they took my order at 745pm but told me they were out of beans. So I got mac and cheese and green beans. Then 5 mins later they came back and said they would refund my money because they already put everything up. This place is ran by lazy kids at night and the Owner should fire the whole bunch. They are messing up what I think is a great bbq restaurant. Please try to have atleaat 75% of the menu available going forward. Normally I come in around 6ish and they should not be out of anything with 2 hours to go. Great Sauce. read more
