4/16/26 I've come here quite often, and forgot to post a review. I went for a double date night with my hubby and our friends. We came to see Tim Meadows. It was a great experience, we were kind of late coming in, and ended up right by the stage. I guess the later you come, the closer to the front you may get seated. So beware! They do offer drinks here, as well as soda products, and they're pretty good. No food options but the venue is very small so to be expected. Great place to have a good laugh and enjoy a night out. I believe there is a 1 drink minimum but I can't remember, regardless, it's a good time all around. Definitely plan to come here again in the near future. read more

Need a good laugh. Comedy off broadway is a small intimate venue. However, they have some very famous comedians on their line up, yet the tickets are reasonably priced. And I think its cool that the comedians are in the lobby after the show so that you can personally interact with them. What I really like is that none of the comedians are vulgar. The seating is pretty tight if you are seated in the front of the stage, more comfortable seating in the back and on the sides. The venue is intimidate, sized so no "nosebleed" seats, all seats are good. There is a one drink minimum which includes bottled water. The mixed drinks however, are just okay, but not great. read more

Ordered the required minimum of one drink, then went back and ordered another -- so two drinks total. After that, we got to overhear staff whispering about there being "no tip," calling us "just college kids," followed by comments like "yeah, it's the culture" and repeated "that's bullshit, that's bullshit." I had a wonderful experience! It's a smaller, quaint venue that's great for more exclusive, and intimate setting/style comedy. It's kinda an old school vibe too which I loved. The service was excellent. They were so kind and often walked around checking on your needs. Had basic drinks, beer, cocktails, etc. to choose from. Cost overall for tickets and drinks are pretty reasonable. Great option for your next comedy fix! read more

Nice venue! Lots of options for comedy shows. Food is not served but, a decent bar selection. The only "complaint" I have is that they do provide any rating or indication of content for the shows. Clearly, this is a venue geared to the 18+ crowd; however, it would be nice to know if the show is "explicit " if you aren't familiar with the comedian. . read more

I had a great experience last year when I went to see Sam Morril, went this past weekend, & dealt with maybe the most rude staff of any establishment I've ever been in. It was really one specific person, an older gentleman with long gray hair. I'm a bigger & in shape guy so sometimes people are more aggressive with me, even though I'm a big teddy bear. He was one of those guys. Extremely aggressive, rude, & will be the reason I won't be back & will be making sure to tell everyone to avoid this place. I work on a car lot so I will make sure as many people as possible know to avoid this place! Another one of those places in Lexington that used to be great, but just let themselves go. read more

Located in the Lexington Green Center, Comedy Off Broadway is amongst stores, hotels, a gas station, and man-made pond. The venue itself is really small and is comprised of one show room with a tiny stage. One entertainer is enough to fill the area. This venue attracts a variety of A to C list celebrities. Eat dinner before you arrive or you will find yourself fasting. There is no food service restaurant. This location has a one drink minimum and servers will happily take your order. You have the option to also purchase drinks at the bar. The lobby is small and entertainers can sell merchandise, but limit this activity to one table or you will not have enough room as patrons are filing out. Patrons can purchase tickets online and/or through the box office. Customer service is good. Large groups can request seating arrangements. For all other groups, assigned seating has been predetermined. Patrons are escorted to seats. Also, tables are close and chairs even closer. The seating is very intimate. No photos or recording. Put your phones away. Looks like this location is now operating at full capacity with no mask mandate. read more

Comedy off Broadway is the only venue in Lexington (that I know of) that exclusively hosts comedy acts! I have seen different comedians of varying levels of fame advertised throughout the years here but have never been to a show. My sister bought us tickets to see our favorite Instagram personality/podcaster Claudia Oshrey! She was hilarious and we enjoyed her show. The space itself is pretty small which makes for an intimate setting. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. That being said, you can tell the decor hasn't been updated in a while if it was ever- everything seems very dated and a little grimy. In addition, COB has that lingering smell of cigarette smoke even though there's been a smoking ban in Lexington for over 10 years. There was a one drink minimum for the show, not sure if it is that way across the board. Our waitress came to check on everyone discreetly throughout the show which was appreciated, however she didn't pass out checks until after the show was over, so we had to wait about half an hour after the show had ended to leave. Things happen, but it would have been nice to have gotten that taken care of before the act ended so we could have left right after. I would go back if there was a comedian I really wanted to see; but not just as something to do in town. read more

Lexington's Comedy Off Broadway is not my favorite comedy club, but it's hosted some terrific comedians, causing me to visit on occasion. I feel like the booking is quite erratic. Some of the nation's best will visit, but the club will also book folks who aren't top tier stand-ups, but rather are just coasting on their fame from other areas. But the club is well run overall, and crowds are generally good, so it can make for a good night out if the right act is in town. read more

This is one of my favorite date night options. It's pretty small inside, so if you hear of a big name act, score your tickets ASAP, those usually sell out. They don't serve food here, but there's plenty of options around Lexington Green... Bronte Bistro is my favorite option... they have a good happy from 4-7. There's also Palmers if you want something fancier. I just wish it was closer to my house so that the Uber and Lyft rides weren't so expensive. read more

The vibe sucks! Even after two whiskey cocktails it wasn't funny. The headliner interacted with crowd and the club kicked a couple out on their anniversary. Headliner walks into crowd and front row individual was inappropriate after consuming drinks from said club. And he apologized and was clearly embarrassed about rambling something about anniversary. He had been previously interacted with by headliner as most people in front get picked on. We were in the back and the strangers next to us admitted that they were kicked out the last time they were there in the front. Later in the show she spoke out in response to some relevant topic ( not heckling, interacting in a way that seemed positive) and was threatened to be kicked out by headliner and reminded of couple celebrating anniversary in parking lot. Then staff came and spoke with her. Clearly waste of all the money I spent. so uncomfortable as the couple who was there knew the other doctors and medical professionals in the audience because we heard them talking before the show. We enjoyed many nights here for years and it's not the place it was. I will go to funny bone or drive hours to find entertainment. So disappointed. It will be funnier when they go out of business. read more

Comedy Off Broadway is small in size but big on fun. They bring in a ton of big name national acts at reasonable prices. While they don't serve food, they do have reasonably priced drinks. There is a one drink minimum (even if it's just a soda) so be prepared to order something. Being a small place, they do fill it up so you will be sitting close to someone you likely don't know. A typical show starts with the house MC, who uses pretty much the same routine as he's been using for the past 5 years. It would be nice if he mixed it up some but you're there to see the other acts anyway so it's not a huge deal. read more

My wife and I have been going to Comedy off Broadway for over twenty years. Tonight was the worst show we've seen there. Not sure if they are under new management or ownership, but it seems like they are quick to tell people not to talk back to the comedians. Even when the comedians engaged the crowd. The first two comedians were a little funny but the headliner wasn't at all. The wait staff was good but not sure if we will ever return. read more

It feels so good to laugh and it's good for your health. If you are looking for something fun to do, then I highly recommend Comedy Off Broadway. What a great way to spend an evening! Often the comedians are very well-known or famous. The calendar for the comedians is nicely done and is rated so that you can see the level of rowdiness of the comic, as some are more clean-cut than others. If you are easily offended, just check out the calendar, so that you can pick your preference. They have a drink minimum, but the drinks aren't overly priced anymore than any other bar. There's plenty of parking and tickets should be purchased in advance, although you can get tickets at the door at times, depending on the popularity of the comic. read more

Nice club. Recently visited for a Ryan Hamilton show. The tables and chairs are really packed in there. We didn't have many issues other than a rather tall gentleman we had to ask to move a bit, but he was nice about it. We also were lucky enough to make friends with the couple we shared a table with. The club is clean but seemingly on the older side. The service was great, and the staff kept the drinks coming! I get impatient pretty quickly, and they were on it, despite a huge crowd! One thing I would add is a coat check. I don't like keeping my large winter coat on the back of my chair where people's shoes will likely get it dirty just because it hangs off the rather small chair. As with most clubs, they have lots of autographed photos of other comics who have performed there. I would not hesitate to come back for other comics! read more

Came here for the girl with no job show this week and it was sold out and you could tell. This place squeezes people in so you are sitting right next to the person. I would say this place needs a bigger bathroom and more servers. There was a line at the bathroom all night and it took probably 20 minutes to get a drink. read more

My husband and I had a date night here last night 7/31/21. This was our first time here in several years. I'm not sure what I was expecting as far as seating with the whole covid thing but, if you are a person who is concerned, not vaccinated or at high risk....definitely wear your mask or don't come here until we are beyond the virus. It was absolutely packed wall to wall. You have maybe an inch of space between yourself and your neighbors. If you are alone or party of 2 like we were, you will be sharing a table with others. Our table for instance had 5 people. There is also a ONE DRINK MINIMUM per person and the venue is 21 and over. Ticket prices are not bad at all though. We went to see the fantastic Mike Epps and of course, he made the evening and was hilarious. The venue is small but, I actually liked that aspect because there are no bad seats. No matter where you sit you are close to the stage. There is a bar when you enter and several wait staff make there way through the club about every 10 minutes for whatever you need. We had a great time and are looking forward to coming back very soon! read more

Great headliners! Went here for the 7:15 show to see Drew Lynch. Got stuck in line while my boyfriend parked the car and he made it into the show before I did because he came in another door (the exit). Server waited until show time to ask about drinks. Otherwise a pretty run of the mill place. It was a little chilly so bring a jacket if your probe to getting cold. read more

I would select negative stars if this site allowed. We were treated so poorly by the staff, even called names. You wait in line to get in and wait in line for a drink then you wait in line to get into the room where they perform. The talent was like a kid from your moms basement, not funny at all!! This place is AMAZING! They are very polite and accommodating with quick jokes peppered in their speak:) the club is very nice inside with a very comfortable feel. They have active servers, so you don't have to leave the show for a drink! The only negative thing about the venue was the bathrooms. One toilet with stall, and two open urinals with no partition. This proved to be a challenge lol, so after the show I ended up using the bathroom at the gas station. Ultimately this place is so awesome with such a fun and lively feel. It feels neat and secure, I am totally comfortable at this place and will be returning many times in the future! An easy 5/5 read more

Enjoyed our evening at Comedy Off Broadway seeing the WellRED Comedy tour. We got there shortly after the doors opened because, knowing it was sold out, we wanted to get settled into our seats. We were at table 42, which was on the center aisle and three rows deep. Lucked out on that one since we didn't get to choose our spot. We grabbed drinks from the bar on our way (every ticket has a one-drink minimum). Once we were in the room and closer to showtime, there were servers to handle everyone's drinks. Our server was polite and not intrusive at all. I had a refill on my soda and husband had a second beer. Prices were reasonable. The room was clean and the show started on time. It's definitely crowded but I get it--nobody's really getting out of their seats anyway. The guys were hilarious. Kind of a bummer that we had to drive to Lexington from Louisville to catch this show, but COB really is a top notch comedy club, attracting acts that Louisville just doesn't get. Management is Completely Unprofessional. There is a one drink minimum at this club which we are completely used to and expecting. What we were not expecting was the quality of the drinks. Our server was understanding and trying to accommodate but three strikes and you're out. The beer was warm, the wine selection minimal and the soda flat. Paired with mediocre talent, I felt our money would've been better spent bowling. When I tried to explain our disappointment to the manager on duty I was told that 'I was clearly high maintenance.' When I return to Lexington it will not include a visit here. read more

Went to see DC Curry one weekend. There were two couples sitting next to us. One couple really let his wife get so drunk she was profusely loud during the entire show. She was up at least three or four times yelling out during the entire show and then she had the audacity to wobble to the bathroom and knocked over my drink. I was sitting in an end seat. I informed the bouncer that she knocked over my drink and I was not refunded my drink. She was really drunk and must've had about six drinks. Comedy off Broadway was too worried about selling drinks that they over sold to her which made an uncomfortable show for people sitting around her. read more

I have only been here once last summer, as of now, but hope to go back soon!! I was taken here for a first date to someone who is now the absolute love of my life so that alone makes this place pretty special to me :) Other than that I thought it was a really fun place, great service and great entertainment! I thought it was really cool how you walk in the door and straight to a bar haha, and let me exaggerate just how much they "hook your drink up" we order a bourbon and coke and needed another coke on the side to be able to drink it.. If your looking for a fun night out this is a terrific option! Comedy Off Broadway features top comics from the national circuit as well as local talent. We receive their flyer in the mail and watch for our favorite acts but you can also check their website for upcoming shows. On this night the performer was Tracy Morgan of SNL and "30 Rock" fame. There were two other comics opening for him but Tracy was the star of the evening. His act wasn't for the faint of heart and included bits on sex, Walmart (he was almost killed by a Walmart truck in a traffic collision), race, and family. Comedy Off Broadway has a 1 drink minimum and we ended up trying two Whiskey Sours ($4.92 each), a frozen Strawberry Daiquiri ($5.74), and a White Russian ($5.74). The drinks are what you would expect for the price and with tax and tip came to $30.00. If you're tired of dinner and a movie give this live entertainment venue a try! read more

Ok, there is not much to do in Lexington in my opinion so I checked out this place one night. You could easily get tickets at the window no need to order in advance as long as you were there on time. I do recommend getting there a bit early and here is why- the seating is tight and the tables are little cocktail tables that they sit you at to share with another couple. So get there early so you can get the better spot at the table. The seating is all on one level with a tiny box platform for the comedian to stand on. This place is really outdated and smells of cigarette smoke and kind of like an attic. The waitresses are quick and friendly and the comedians can be hit or miss. Literally, after my 2nd drink, the jokes were pretty funny. Would I return? Probably with a different comedian. read more

We had such a fun time at Comedy Off Broadway this past Saturday night! I we with my parents to see Ian Bagg for my dad's birthday. It was so fun! The staff was very nice and accommodating and the space was nice. I was impressed by the MC, opener and Ian Bagg's jokes. I, along with everyone else in the audience was laughing until tears. There is a one drink minimum but you can order as soon as you walk in. There are also waiters that circulate throughout during the show. I really enjoyed this place, I've been several times. Some acts are better than others. The first time I went with my sister, we saw Mike Armstrong, and we were laughing NON-STOP, I had to force myself to stop laughing because I was in pain. I went a different time and watched some older guy with his guitar, I didn't find it too funny. I do like the open mic night though, because it reminds me of watching the NBC show Last Comic Standing. Overall, it is a good place to go for fun, especially since it seems there isn't much to do here in Lexington. read more
