My husband and I decided to check out this place out yesterday after touring Concord. The food was surprisingly good! Husband ordered chicken parm with ziti and I got a veggie wrap. Both tasted fresh, clean, and delicious! We were both pleasantly surprised and we even purchased a jarred sauce on the way out. The low review is because a family of four entered the restaurant and sat down. They seemed confused as they looked at the menu on the wall. The person behind the counter saw them and did not even greet them or ask if they had any questions. After a long time being ignored by the employee, they all stood up to leave. While visiting Concord, we were just looking for a casual, easy place to order a little something to tide us over until our later dinner reservations. We ordered at the counter and picked a table. The staff brought over silverware and then our dishes once they were ready. I had the Italian wedding soup and my dining partner had a chicken parmesan sub (taking 1/2 away for later). The soup, which they said is made in house, had more mini meatballs than I had ever had with wedding soup. The broth was flavorful and not salty. The chicken Parm was tasty and the sauce was good. Great little restaurant for great food at a reasonable price! Ordered the Awesome Avelina Pizza and added grilled chicken as well as the regular spaghetti with meatballs and it was delicious! Tried to order online but their website wasn't accepting orders, so I decided to call and was on hold for 10 mins before speaking to someone. Couldn't even try the food because the nasty lady taking the order on the phone hung up because she was "too busy with a tour bus" to take my order. I called to order a delivery to a friend who has a sick child but found out that they don't deliver the 4.5 miles to my town. When she told me that, I wanted to change it to pickup but Karen on the phone hung up on me before I could place the order. She told me to use DoorDash if I wanted delivery. As an FYI, the cheese pizza directly from comellas is $13 but through door dash it is $18. read more

So I was excited to check this place as my kids love Italian, but the moment you walk in you realize the ambience is terrible. There's no music and it honestly feels like you are in a slightly elevated cafeteria. The space was also not air conditioned so eating hot food in a hot room wasn't going to be ideal. Ordering was also painful and the 2 staff members made it that way. One was ok the other was not. When I asked if they had ice for my drink the cashier said "no we don't" very upset and walked off in a huff. It didn't seem like the staff wanted to be there. So I would say if staff were friendly, the space was cooler, and music was playing it would have felt better. When we sat down the table was so sticky we moved, and the second was also super sticky. My daughter said "we are in a sticky situation!" It must be the cleaning products. Finally, The food was just ok and definitely felt like frozen food just microwaved. Been coming here for years, came here with my gf for takeout and they gave me a pizza that wasn't cooked. Like, it tasted like dough, and the cheese wasn't fully melted. She and I had to put it in the oven at 375 for more than 15 minutes (!!!) until the pizza was edible. I don't normally give one star reviews on this app. I think this is my only one, ever. I'm not even going to try and get a refund this time. I'm just not going to go back. We ordered a pizza, Pa's mess, and Ma's mess.. The pizza was not great, but it was the two pasta dishes that did not deliver, again.. Pa's mess, which is a pasta dish with meatballs, barely had any meat I would say, approximately half a meatball and very little pasta. It was mostly sauce. And Ma's mess, a pasta dish with vegetables had not one vegetable in the entire order. It was mostly sauce very little pasta, and no vegetables. I have been disappointed by this place so many times in the last couple of years and I wonder why I keep going back. Probably because years ago it used to be good. Definitely go somewhere else. If I could leave a 0 star I would. We ordered 3 pizzas, one large cheese, one large vegetable, and a personal pepperoni. They managed to mess up 2 of the 3 pizzas. We received a large pepperoni and a large pizza with only onions along with the personal pepperoni. When we went back in to ask about the mess up, they took the pizzas back and simply tossed raw spinach on top and brought out another large pepperoni. They AGAIN had to take it back and remake a cheese pizza. While the lady working the register seemed calm, you could tell she was annoyed by her physical actions. This whole experience resulted in the personal to become cold while we waited for the kitchen to correct their multiple mistakes and we also had no idea what to do with the raw spinach on the pizza so we tossed it and went to a different place to get a proper vegetable pizza. Comella's used to be a backup to Sorrento's just down the road, but recently I've been finding myself going here more. Sorrento's still reigns supreme in terms of pizza quality, but only by a small margin. The staff at Comella's is far friendlier, the prices are more competitive, it's easier to order over the phone, and the hours are better. When I'm ordering a pizza, I want it to be both straightforward to get and tasty to eat. Comella's delivers on both of these while Sorrento's does not. read more

I was appalled by the horrific customer service they have. I ordered a chicken ceaser wrap for $8.99. It was presented so carelessly I couldn't even pick it up without the whole thing falling apart. The ingredients were far from anything I'd call "quality food". I was very displeased because the price and the fact I wanted an easy thing to eat without a mess. Our order is often messed up - wrong ingredients in the mess, no gluten free pizza crusts and they don't tell us until pickup, etc. 10-15 years ago, Comella's was wonderful. Just got the worst lunch take out in a long time. Ordered Italian wedding soup. They asked if I wanted cheese..I said sure .. didn't get it. I asked for bread (free a Via Lago in Lexington) they asked if i wanted a slice of garlic bread..well that is an up charge and it's meh. And for the soup. Don't even bother trying after 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Something in your order will be wrong, you may have something left out or [BONUS] maybe they mistakenly add a random sandwich! You may wait 45 minutes, 70, or even 90 minutes for your food! PLAN AHEAD. Food is mediocre. We like the tomato and mozzarella sandwich because, well, you can't screw it up. If you order a pizza on a weekday non-rush hour your chances are higher it'll be actually quite good. I want nothing more than Comella's to get their act together and hire someone over 18 to actually run the place. We all want them to succeed. read more

We went here for takeout. We ordered the chicken parm with ziti, veal parm with mess, shells with mess, fried calamari, fried mozzarella and desserts. Everything tasted like it came from a package. The fried mozzarella and calamari tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Do not get their signature dish called "the mess". It was horrible. Tasted like week old leftovers all mixed together. Been going here for 20 years in various locations, 10 or so here. Quality has fallen off in recent years, the food is now only average, and service is spotty. Most recent experience was calling a phone order including a small salad, and being charged $26 for a "bucket" of salad, called immediately about the mixup, but the manager refused to do anything saying the employee verified it twice. If you want a "small salad", someone verifying twice that you want a "bucket" of salad should be pretty obvious. They also did not say the total price of the order on the phone which they normally do. When I suggested it was due to poor English skills on the part of the employee, she started to shout and swear at me and hung up. I could care less what language someone speaks as long as they get the order right, or if they get it wrong, the company makes it right. The attitude that they'd insist on keeping the money for something that wasn't ordered or wanted is probably exactly the reason their quality has dropped so much in the last few years. read more

The various Comella's have always been a kind of "utility food source," stuff shaped like pasta and pizza at just-barely-reasonable prices that the kids will eat and the parents will tolerate. Those days when you have to feed a family but don't want the kids to frown? Comella's. Yes they sell pizza - when they're cooked long enough they're crispy and tasty, but some days they need a few more minutes and it's a disappointment. It is absolutely not a destination restaurant for pasta, either. Instead, people buy whole or fractional "buckets" whose serving sizes I can no longer find definitions of on the websites, often filled with "messes", odd mixtures of multiple overcooked pastas with various meats depending on whose gag-inducing mess-name it is, like "grandpa's mess." Poor grandpa!, in whose mess the unremarkable tomato sauce only gets flavor from the lucky random piece of sausage that was allowed to cook long enough for a bit of crispy browned casing. I have been eating at Comella's for 3 or 4 years and have tried a couple of their other locations, away from Concord. It's not fancy, it's not gourmet, but without a doubt, Comella's has the most consistent, freshest and tastiest Italian food in the area. You absolutely won't be disappointed and you won't go broke having lunch. They also offer their sauce, frozen and to go. There's so much meat in their sauce, it's a meal in itself. I'm not a huge fan of their pizza, but it will surely be the best $5 pizza you ever ordered. read more
