    Sad cheeseburger

Second time ordering a cheeseburger here - the grill is too hot because the outside is burnt and it's undercooked. When you send it back to be cooked they literally char the crap out of it, including the cheese and send it back out and it's expensive!

An option that was not offered to the table.

Went into the establishments at 4:50 with my adult sons and it was before the dinner rush. We were promptly served water and bread. However it took till 5:25 for our drink orders to be taken. I ordered the chicken piccata that was delicious. My sons ordered the bacon pizza and the Cuban. Pizza had very little bacon and it Market basket pizza hot and fresh is better than the pizza that evening. My oldest was just hungry and ate it. Also he ordered a skull drink and the black salt was on the back of the drink where hands were. The drink was all ice, two sips most with a wine floater. Asked for a vodka upgrade on the floater and it couldn't be done. The point of a floater, is to be added on the top of a drink. For $16, it should of had less ice and more of a drink. The waitress said it was pre made. Very disappointing. The atmosphere was clean, however the server was annoyed and she had just started her shift. Tip reflected service. The Nashua establishment is much more proficient in service. First come should be first waited on and not last. Very disappointed. Also, specials and promotions were not even mentioned.

Average Joes is just average like they say. Scallops were boring, scallops on a skewer cooked over a flame and then served with brown rice and broccoli was just okay. Best item is their coconut breaded fried shrimp. Crab cakes were average but tasty enough. Even my ice cream sundae could use better ice cream and hot fudge as it tasted like the ingredients came from the supermarket.

It's quintessencial central Mass. bistro dining, where the waitress is the bartender, the maitre d' is the owner, the empire and mid century china is mismatched but matches the food that is presented on the dishes, and where that food is delicious. Many, but not all, items on the menu are gf, several are vegetarian, and one main and one dessert are vegan. We tried the well-balanced "Red Skies at Night" cocktail and would have it again. We also tried some of the new dishes that are rotating through the menu. The gf seasonal watermelon and feta salad is a particularly savory example of this summer favorite. Crab salad with avocado, hard-boiled egg, and real remoulade sauce, was a nice interpretation (served on a period luncheon plate). The main course artichoke spinach cheesecake was outstanding. Among the desserts, the gf chocolate mousse, which was served in an old-fashioned metal sundae dish and garnished with a fresh violet and real whipped cream, was rich and delicious. We will be back.

We started with cocktails, arugula salad and bread service. Everything was fresh and bread was yummy, drizzled with honey butter. For our mains, I had the tuna poke bowl and my husband had the pork Milanese. The tuna was fresh, over a bed of perfectly cooke rice, avocado, edamame and lots of healthy goodness. My husband said his pork was as good as his German Schnitzel! I really love the small pours of high end wines. I had a Barolo to wrap up my meal. The place was quiet, which allowed Ben to sirens time talking to us and giving is the ones and outs of his creations. Our server was Sienna, who was bright and personable, and worked side by side with Chef Ben to make our meal memorable. We started our meal with oysters. Chef gave us his recommendations and they were has delicious as he hyped them up to be. Then we tried the lobster guacamole, which the star of the shows was actually the bacon lardon that's layered in. A must try for anyone who loves this dip. I had the pineapple braised pulled pork tacos. I could barely finish two, yet alone the 3 healthy sized tacos. And my girlfriend was treated to both the crab cake and the specialty salmon cakes. She proclaimed the salmon the winner of that cake battle. For desert, which we didn't finish either, was the berry cobbler. I compared it to an oversized toaster strudel, but homemade and much more flavorful. Overall, we love it here. This is our 2nd trip and we'll be sure to come again soon! Pro Tip: sit at the Oyster Bar, watching the kitchen working is a phenomenal experience. Thank you again to Chef Ben and Sienna! And look, they also have events coming up!!
