The service response was amazingly quick--same day service--and during this heat, this was definitely appreciated! The technician knew what was wrong with our air-conditioner even before he looked at it as he said it was a common problem with A/C units. He quickly fixed our A/C unit by replacing the capacitor, and he also suggested I rinse off the exterior of our compressor to get rid of all the dust. We had IMMEDIATE cool air coming from our unit, and even more impressive, we weren't price gouged like we've been in the past. My AC was blowing hot air under 95+ degree weather, and a family member recommended this company. I texted Nathan and he was up front about the on-call AC tune-up at $245 + parts, and they were available the same day. On a hot summer day and googling/you-tube that it's more than likely the capacitor, I agreed to the price. The technician came out, did some tests, and indeed found out the capacitor was dead so he replaced it. He swapped it out in under 30 mins (I was happy he got it fixed that quick!) and he called Nathan for a final quote. Came out to be $485...I had to ask the technician 3 times if that's the correct amount and he said he'd gladly put in the dead capacitor back if I didn't like that quote. I ended up calling Nathan and confirmed it was $485. Having did some research on a capacitor, it's easily a $20 part on Amazon or Home Depot. Honestly, I expected to pay a bit more than normal but having to charge $240 for a $20 part is pretty outrageous. He said he "doesn't get rich off a $245 house call" but apparently he gets rich off his parts mark-up, and that he would be happy to put the dead capacitor back in. This tells me this isn't their first rodeo, when the technician said the same thing. Anyway, I have always been supportive of small businesses but they make them look bad and really questions their ethics. I could have been more direct for a quote on the parts prior to install so that's my bad as well. Giving this place two stars since I don't question their knowledge or experience and that they were available the same day but, man, please don't treat your customers like we're dumb. Daniel with Comfort Breeze came out to my home in Columbia for a Home Warranty call. He serviced my A/C by changing a capacitor. Gave us some advice to set us up for "success." Then told us to call if we needed him. Two days after his visit, our A/C broke completely and he never answered our calls or texts. He is dishonest and unprofessional. Be aware of using this company. My central air unit stopped blowing air. The outside unit was coming on, the inside unit was coming on but did not sound normal and no air was coming out of vents. I have a Choice home warranty so I contacted them and placed a claim. My inside air handler unit is inside a room with no door and half a wall in a bathroom has to come down in order to access the unit and it is a bit of an ordeal to do. So I did that to be helpful and kind and to have the access to the unit opened up for him when he arrived. Choice sent out Comfort Breeze and a tech named Daniel came out. He walked in n ask me what it was doing. I told him and showed him the location of unit. I was standing in bathroom and he was still outside door of bathroom when he made a remark about 2 wires hooked up backwards. He was not even in a position to be able to see any wires at that time. I left the room to attend to my puppy dog for a sec. He came out n asked where thermometer was at to turn unit on. We did that. He listened for about 5 secs. He never touched my AC unit at all. He asked for his copay of $75 and told me had to order a motor for unit because he didn't have I e but that I needed to pay my copay then. He stated he had to call Choice to see if they would order or have him do it and wud call me to schedule and asked to look at outside unit which he did for about a minute coming back in saying unit was old. I said yes. The unit has been in my home since way before I bought the house in 2013. The next day I had not heard from him to reschedule. But then I got an email from Choice stating my claim was being denied because tech was stating that I had 2 wires hooked up backwards and that had caused the motor to go out. I explained no wires were hooked up backwards and if had been, I'm sure motor woukd have go w oyr kong before then and explain unit has bern there and running for many years. She then reads to me what tech said, that he stayed either 2 wires were hooked up backwards or motor went out due to normal wear and tear. So she has chgd his words a bit but was denying my claim because he said something about wires. The next day, choice rep contacted tech and I was told he said I opened the AC unit up and tampered with it and I was being accused of switching 2 wires around backwards and also being accused of opening up the AC unit and she was telling me the tech was stating that. I replied to her that I think she is misunderstanding what he is saying. That the only thing I opened was the room where it is located so that he would have access to it when he arrived, I told her if he is staying I opened the AC unit itself, then he is being dishonest and not telling the truth. I had not touched the AC unit, I did not touch any wires, even the tech had not touched the AC unit. It had not been opened at all. I contacted owner of Comfort Breeze and told him what Choice was saying to me and that the lady at Choice was misunderstanding was the tech was saying to her and asked if he could pls help get it straightened out and sent him pics. Today, I spoke with a mgr at Choice who told me she called the tech while on the phone with me and the tech is stating and accusing me of switching 2 wires around and stating I had opened up the AC unit. Again, I stayed that all I opened up was the room to have access to it by taking the wall down to be helpful. I did not touch anything else. She suggested I call owner of Comfort Breeze and ask him to come out and take a look himself and I had right to do that because I had paid $75 copay to them. I called ow er and asked him to come out. He tells me his tech said I switched 2 wires around backwards. I replied I have not touched any wires and wud not touch any wires and asked why I would even do that? And told him if that is what his tech is stating, then, I'm sorry, but he is not being honest and telling the truth. I had not touched except to take the wall down for access and I don't know why he is saying that. I asked him again to pls come out and look himself. He refused and said I'm not going to accuse them of lying and good bye! I have had 2 other AC companies out to my home the past 2 years and had wonderful experiences with both of them and my AC fixed the same day. This has been the most horrible experience by any technician that I have ever had to deal with on anything! They took my money, were only in my home for approx 5 mins or so, did nothing at all, and then have fabricated false accusations towards me and have refused to come out or guarantee their work as they claim to do! They did nothing but rob me and create a nightmare for me between me and Choice on my claim which still needs to be resolved hopefully in a better manner with a different HVAC company!!! read more

Nate and his team provided excellent customer service, was very quick (assessed our home and was able to replace the ducts 2 days later). Communication is very important and Nate was timely in responding. He showed us pictures of our damaged vents. His team arrived in the morning and was able to complete the project same day. They were courteous of our home, covered the floors, and cleaned up after themselves. In light of COVID-19, they also did social distancing and wore masks at all times. Our Air Conditioner was out for 4 days. Because of the heat wave of 108-113 degrees many companies were booked. We had used another company prior to calling Comfort Breeze and they came out and could not help us. We called Comfort Breeze and told them our AC was out for 4 days, Tyler squeezed us in and came out the next morning. He noted that we needed higher amps for our system but also found that our motor needed to be replaced. He installed a motor the same day and saved us from another day of excessive heat. Comfort Breeze is AWESOME! My AC just stop cooling on Saturday evening! Ugh! By Sunday afternoon ... the interior temperature in my condo got up to 88 degrees!!! We had literally record-breaking heat yesterday and the heat wave was forecasted to continue for days, so of course that's when our AC decided to throw in the towel. Thank God for Nate and his team at Comfort Breeze! I called him this morning at 8am and he was here within an hour, finished up his job and headed straight over as promised. Nate was professional, courteous, and took the time to explain to me (and my curious daughters) what was wrong. The capacitor was out so he installed a new one. He also took the time to help clean out the whole condenser unit and walk me through the best way to maintain the system including recommended filter changes and types.
