Had an incredible 5-star dinner prepared by Chef Adam in the lovely dining car with excellent service provided by Suzie. I am a tad arrogant, having access to the some of the best cuisine by living close to San Francisco. Now to be fair, their price point reflects what you see sitting on the plate before you. The service is polite. Ambiance is fun. I ran around in these train cars as a child while vacationing with family 30 years ago. My advice would be, go with what works. The previous owner had it going on, knew the territory so to speak. This place has "warning Will Robbinson" all over it, like sushi in Kansas. A tuckered out Fly Fisherman would prefer a great steak and baked potato. No shame in that, it is the pillar of American dining. If I want foo-foo, I will go to SFO. But then again, I think the food in Paris is "OK", (specifically their entrees) Paris has great bread, crackers and cheese. Alright, pastry, baguets, and fromage. All the offerings in Italy are amazing and the only thing to eat in the UK are chippies. The best "foo foo food" was Betlenut Pan-Asian on Union Street in San Francisco. Lost their lease however. THAT was the bom-d-idly. Hey if you want a fabulous steak, try Jacks in DT Redding. Great place, but you will wait an hour, maybe two. But it is worth the wait. Has an interesting provenance, the location and building itself, was a house of ill repute back in the FDR days, so the legend goes. Cafe Maddalena in Dunsmuir is excellent as well. This faux fusion/euro/cubano/too cool to be true... might make 2 years max. It is the epitome of "The fastest way to make a small fortune, out of a large fortune is to start a restaurant." Inherited money, I can smell it burning in the kitchen.

My only complaint is one I've seen on other reviews and that is the cleanliness of the bedding. There were hairs under sheets. Luckily we had brought our own bedding but it should not be that way. I could see in corners of the room or bathroom there were hairs and dirt or debris. I think after each stay bedding should be fully replaced and mopping should be done along with cleaning toilets and showers . That is my biggest complaint and why we did not leave a tip. I would go back but would still bring my own bedding

The idea of this place is really cool and unique! We stayed in June 2025…read more Pros: 1. They're small spaces (manufactured homes) but they aren't connected with walls to anyone, so it was less stressful to have our baby wake up in the middle of the night. We didn't have to worry about waking our neighbors. 2. The little "neighborhood" loop is cute, too. And the lights at night over the road are fun. 3. Really easy to find off the freeway. 4. Our unit was backed up to the tree line. It felt peaceful looking out the window! 5. The unit felt secure. Cons: 1. The road noise is loud when you're outside. It's literally right on I-5. But we couldn't hear it in our unit. 2. The look is very MCM and cute but the furniture was all for show, not necessarily functional. The "couch" (more loveseat size) was broken on one end. 3. It definitely wasn't well cleaned. There was a layer of dust under the couch, the shower had hair on the walls and you could tell someone used purple shampoo, because it was also still on the shower wall. And drain was backed up slightly. The bathroom sink drain was also backed up. And the kitchen sink was severely backing up. I think someone thought there was a garbage disposal and there wasn't. 4. When I told the front desk at night what was happening, the girl was incredibly kind and tried to problem solve. She offered to move us to another unit but it was after 8 pm and we had an infant with a lot of stuff that would have needed to be moved. Since we were leaving in the morning, it would have been too much to move that late at night. The girl was very understanding and told me she was going to pass it onto her manager. When I checked out in the morning, the same girl was working. She said she told her manager and they talked about some sort of refund or compensation and she assured me the manager would call me, as the manager was standing in the same room as us but talking to another customer. Manager never called to follow up. It was really disappointing. We had planned on stopping and staying on our way back up to Oregon but chose a hotel instead after we didn't hear from them for a week.

Parking lot in a large L shape so it's easy to park in front of the room. Room itself was clean, comfortable, fully stocked and quiet. Check-in is easy. Got a door code to access which is nice and convenient. Communication was excellent, too. Texted my ETA on arrival and texted when Ieft, which is good because I left before the sun came up. So easy!

Pleasant stay | Clean…read more We booked the same day we needed a hotel. Booking was easy, check in was quick. The room was first floor near the stairs and smoking area outside, but that was not a problem at all. The room was clean, towels and bedding were clean and crisp. I liked the welcome note on the bed. That was really sweet of them! The room had a microwave and small fridge w/freezer. There was a small office desk with coffee and ice. Tv, a/c, heater unit. Two things to note: 1. If you use 3 ports to charge at the clock on the nightstand, it uses too much power and one of the electronics needs to be unplugged. There are wall outlets, so you'd need to use those. 2. We didn't have a shower curtain when we arrived. I thought it was one of those modern places where it's just open, but we definitely needed a shower curtain. I felt so bad showering and getting everything wet in the bathroom. Housekeeping was kind to answer quickly and gave us towels to clean up. The fan in the bathroom isn't that effective. I suspect they'll have a mold problem in the future. The light switch to the bathroom is on the outside, which I thought was odd. Other than that, we had a pleasant one night stay. We would stay here again!

Great resort & restaurant!…read more I stayed at Mt. Shasta Resort in 2015 when I attended a Crones Counsel gathering there. We all loved the cabin with Lake Siskiyou in the back yard. It was roomy, clean, quiet & comfortable. Three of us shared a 2-bedroom cabin. In 2017 I moved to Weed, and started coming to the restaurant at the resort for special lunches and dinners. The wait staff in the dining room is superb. They always make us feel like family. I sat on the outside deck for lunch last summer, but the wait staff out there was not at all the same. Food was slow coming and the everything was cold when it arrived. At my request, the fries were replaced with hot fries, but we had almost finished our lunch by the time they came. The food in the restaurant has been great without exception. I always ordered the Pork Ragu for dinner until they took it off the menu. I haven't been back for dinner. When I first started eating at the restaurant, one of the waiters told me about their rewards club for locals that I joined. They send me a certificate for $10 off when I have spent a certain amount. I think it's $200 which adds up fast. They also gift me a bottle of champagne every so often. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to use all the coupons quickly enough before they expire.
