On July 7th we bought a vehicle from Community Honda in Baytown, Tx. We paid cash and had images getting our information entered through their sales and finance department regarding the registration and title. I felt there were going to be problems and told our salesman, Mario the same. Sure enough, as the days and weeks dragged on no registration came and no title was in the mail. I called the dealership multiple times asking for information about the paperwork for the registration and title. I was always told everything was fine and how this sometimes takes weeks or months. I was told they would check on my paperwork and call me back but that never happened. Note, just data after the sale, they called multiple times wanting their survey completed, so I know they had our correct number. After a month, on August 7th, I called Tx DOT and doubt that no paperwork had been submitted yet inspite of being a month after the cash sale. Again I called and I spoke to one of the two sales managers, and was assured everything was submitted properly. I told him the State of Texas was saying otherwise. He said he would check and call me back. I received no call back, but I did get a text saying that the dealership had resubmitted the paperwork. I responded with a query, asking if there was an error on the original filing or if it wasn't filed at all. I got no response. Finally, on Friday evening, August 21st, my wife got a text saying the registration was in. We went on the earliest weekday, Monday the 24th and got the registration. While there, I spoke to the other sales manager and the salesman and expressed my disappointment at how we were treated. I explained that the misfiling of the paperwork was one thing, but I could have accepted that if they had just been honest about it and kept me in the loop so I wouldn't have to worry. However, they still refused to tell me what had happened and just said that my temporary tag was good for 60 days, in spite of my repeated statements explaining that wasn't the point. Again, I advised them that the point was my concerns being dismissed multiple times and, ultimately, the concerns were valid since they had indeed failed to properly file the necessary registration and title paperwork in a timely manner. I even expressed concern that, if their service department was equally unresponsive about such matters, I would have difficulty trusting them to work on the vehicle. They simply shrugged and ignored those concerns as well, even as I pointed out the inconvenience of having to go to a different, further dealership for service. They did wash the vehicle and fill the tank, and acted as if this was recompense for this issue, except this was promised at the point of sale back in July. (I still almost refused.) Their lack of concern for a serious issue in their office was bad enough. However, their repeated dismissal of the issue even when I called and told them something was wrong, shows a decided lack of customer service once the 'check clears'. I wish I had waited for the deal to be complete before competing their survey. More than that, I wish they were more concerned for actual customer service after the sale than getting said survey as quickly as possible after the deal is signed. read more

This is one of the worst Honda dealers around and if it was possible I would give them a ZERO. Dropped my wife's car off after she made the appointment. She talked to Hilda, that was her customer service lady. Hilda told me wife that she would let her know via call, text or email Saturday about the car as they were busy. When we didn't get a call back from her, we guessed that it would be Monday. No word on Monday so my wife called, only to be told that Monday was Hilda's day off. When my wife called Tuesday she was told by Hilda that the parts were ordered and she would let her know when they got car ready. 2 issues with this. One is that we never advised them to fix it and all would be OK, we don't even have a total of what this is going to cost. Two would be that we had to call. My wife works in customer service in the Airline industry and we would never treat a customer like this. This is kind of customer service is unacceptable and will not be tolerated, this is why this email to YELP, since this is the only way that people seem to understand these days. I recently took my vehicle in for brakes repaired Spark plug to be replaced .Since then I have been having problems with rattling noises from my left rear brake . they claim they replaced the problem. but the noise is still there. I also had my turbo replaced. it was not fixed correctly. soon as I drove out the lot it started to jerk. I bought it back to be replaced correctly. I'm continuing to have issues with my vehicle. my vehicle did not have e any issues un it was fixed there. I have spoken to the Service Manager Logan in numerous times. But my vehicle is still not working properly. I'm taking it back in on this week. I have spent too much money for my vehicle repair and still not fixed yet. This Dealership has made every part of the vehicle purchasing process difficult. Once you get in the room with finance, be sure you read the papers you are signing. We specifically noted we would not like any warranties but instead were given 4 different warranties. After going back up there to get this taken care of we were lied to and told they couldn't cancel then when asked to reflect this decision in writing they magically could remove these warranties. Since then we've dealt with the General Manager who has been nothing short of a pain in the rear. His non professional, passive aggressive approach has tied everything together for this to be the worst vehicle buying experience possible. Very poor service!!! Brought my car in for coolant leak about 1 1/2 month ago. Took the service department 3 days for a diagnostic. I was told my car was covered for repairs thru our extended warranty due to manufacturing defect. I requested a loaner for work commute after a week of constant phone calls I was able to get a loaner. Took about 3 weeks for repairs. Finally i received my car back. 3 days later I have an oil leak in my driveway. Checked under the hood of my car and found oil residue from upper part of engine. Called and spoke to the female service manager about the situation. She asked for me to bring in my car earliy for diagnostic and same day repair. Received a call later that day for pick up, while there I asked if the all the oil residue was cleaned up and she replied "yes" asked what had been the issue and said that prior mechanic pinched the crack seal. Which didn't sound right. As soon as I arrived home I looked under the hood again to verify oil clean up and that didn't happen. I found out my oil leak issue was never fixed and still leaks oil thru valve cover gasket which was removed for the initial repairs. Don't know if it's the unexperienced mechanics or lack of knowledge. Tried to use community honda for my convenience and ended up in a worse situation. Service department no good read more

We recently bought a vehicle from Community Honda in Baytown TX. While there we haggled a price & said out the door $42k. We showed them we are an active duty family & provided an LES for home of record so we could register our vehicle in the state that is home of record & not pay the taxes for out of state living, due to being active duty. We had to prove to them via website & email this was a thing because they wanted to argue with us. We have bought a vehicle this same way previously & had zero issue. We provided the LES & got the vehicle registered in our home of record state. An agreement was made & signed by both parties. There's text & email documentation of all of this. We signed for $42k OUT THE DOOR & REGISTERING IN OUR HOME OF RECORD. Weeks later we get texts from Bennet telling us they registered our vehicle in Louisiana instead of our home of record & to pay them back over a thousand dollars in taxes. We told them no. We provided all of the paperwork necessary and signed documents for what was agreed upon in store NOTHING else. Bennet nor his people, at Community Honda Baytown, called us prior to registering it in Louisiana and just took it upon themselves. Then want to text demanding money over the phone. They then lied saying they looked up our vehicle we traded in saying it was bought in Lafayette, LA & registered in New Mexico. We bought our vehicle in Alexandria, LA on our PCS move to Georgia & have never lived in New Mexico ever in our lives so have zero reason to register any vehicle there. We once again provided screenshots of us proving to Community Honda employees what is stated on the WA DOL website for Military Exemption. While also providing proof of registering our trade in vehicle in WA that they lied about. We are getting hassled & the run around. It isn't our fault or problem none of Community Honda employees know what they're doing or that they decide to not contact people & pay money they could have saved. We will not be paying them for money they chose to fork out. We bought our Tundra from Walker Toyota in Alexandria,LA and could not have had a better experience, we should have gone back to them. I came in to have my tire replaced because it had a screw on the side, my brand new vehicle which is only 3 weeks old and very very clean was serviced and returned to me with greasy hand prints on the console, the door, the steering wheel and the seat! Needless to say I was extremely upset, well while driving away the tire pressure light went on so here I go back to the service department. They forgot to calibrate the tire pressure...soooo while I am waiting yet again the yahoos checking the air are leaning on my car with their greasy clothes, placing their dirty hands on the top of the car because I guess they could not manage to hold themselves up for 5 minutes and again greasy finger prints all over. By this time I am livid! They give my car back to me and the cap is gone from the tube of the now brand new tire, so I say I want a cap and for some reason the mechanics thought that was so funny, I wasn't laughing. NO RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY! And right in front of me! My previous car was a Kia and when I took it to Community Kia for service I was treated the same way, I was hoping Community Honda would be different but nope! Also, a young lady phoned my husband today to ask if we were asked to review the service we received would it be a good review and my husband said "no" and the girl said okay we won't have you review your service. This is not a review on Community Honda as my experience with them was good. This is a review of Honda in general. We purchased a new Honda Civic in March and in April, another car hit our car causing air bags to deploy. Our car has been in the repair shop waiting on parts from Honda since April. After hearing from the repair shop that they kept getting changing dates from Honda, I reached out to Honda in July and they started to track the 5 parts that are still needed. The car is not drivable without them. They were supposed to arrive in August. Then I was told September. Then they didn't have dates. Now they are saying November. I don't trust Honda anymore. They have parts for their new cars but not me. Once they sell you the car, they just don't care anymore. Based on my experience with Honda, I won't be buying another Honda and I would recommend you don't as well. read more

When i asked what it was, Bryanna replied it was splashguards, net and lug nuts, nitro was the gas that comes in tires. And it was 700!!! Splashguards come stock as well as nitrous gas in tires. This place is horrible. The internet sales department engages in classically orchestrated bait-and-switch. I requested quotes for a Ridgeline RTL-E on the Honda website; Community Honda had about seven in stock. Jessica Pulido sends me a quote for a gray Ridgeline with 2,000 miles. She also sent me a quote with the same price for a white Ridgeline with 10 miles. The offer seemed too good to be true; it was about $4,000 less than anyone else. But most dealerships only stock 2-3 RTL-Es, and because Community Honda had 7 RTL-Es the offer was plausible. I e-mailed Ms. Pulido "If this is still available on Monday evening for that price + TTL I'll take it." Ms. Pulido set-up an appointment for me to pick-up the vehicle on Monday. Monday evening I drive all the way over to Baytown for the appointment. Jessica isn't there. I get handed off to Jean. Jean hands me off to another salesman. We go for a test drive. The vehicle we test drive is a Ridgeline RTL-E with 5,000 miles. We go back to the lot. I ask the salesman if all the RTL-Es on the lot are the same price. He says they are. I'm ready to buy the white one with 10 miles. We go back inside. I fill out the Honda Financing paperwork. Then he brings back some numbers. Suddenly the price of the vehicle has increased $6,000. His spiel went kind of like "Well, you see, the lower price was for the demo vehicle. Of course it's going to be more if it doesn't have any miles on it. Plus there are all these dealer-installed accessories that weren't disclosed by Jessica. Or me. And a few arbitrary, but customary, fees that we throw in for the hell of it." I was expecting TT&L, but all this other stuff? I don't think so. I balk. I don't want it now. He says "What can I do to make this right?" Ummm...stick with the original offer? He has to go talk to his manager. After a few minutes he brings the manager back. The manager points out the small-font fine print at the bottom of every e-mail sent from Community Honda. It basically says something like "We might offer you a price, but it doesn't mean anything. When you get here we can add any damn fees we like, and charge you whatever we like." Definition of "bait-and-switch" from Google: "the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods which are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods." Yep. I really don't know if it's illegal in Texas or not, but it's highly unethical and a complete waste of my time. Now I don't even want a Honda. read more

I had a long history dealing with this place, even before they changed their name from Baytown Honda to Community Honda. Unfortunately, not much has changed since the new name. Back in 2005, I purchased a new Honda Civic that came with a bucket list of problems. The list included problems such as the driver side window not rolling back up, excessive cabin rattling noise during highway speeds, plastic trim coming off, poorly installed spoiler, and missing floor mats. All the problems were covered under warranty, but it was still annoying having to come up here 5 or 6 times to fix issues with a brand new car. When I brought in my car for the first issue (window not rolling up), I encountered a lot of frustration. My window just didn't cooperate with me when I wanted it to go up. When I pull the switch to actuate the window up, the window would start to go up and then stop midway and retract. This really sucked when it started to rain. The mechanic's solution to the fix? Apply lubricant to the weather seals. His justification was that there was excess friction along the seals, making it think there was an object in the way and commanded the motor to retract the window. Did it work? No. I took my car back the second time and this time they actually took the door panel off for inspection. I noticed that they incorrectly pried a plastic panel off too so they could access some screws. This caused aesthetic damage to the trim, but I didn't mind that much since it wasn't an eye sore. (The correct way to take off the panel is to use a small pin or rod to push the panel out from an access hole behind the door handle. It's written in the service manual to do it this way!). The window seemed to go up and down after they did something to it so I drove home but only to realize my I couldn't open my door from the inside!!! What if I was in an accident and couldn't get out? I immediately drove back and had them fix it. The service manager knew something was wrong when he saw me again crawling over to the passenger door to get out. Later on my window started doing the same thing. I took it back one more time but I don't remember what their solution was, but it didn't work. 10 years later I still have the same window problem. When I drive in my friend's car, I'm always amazed at how easy their window rolls up. When I brought my car here to fix the rattling problem, one of the mechanics denied there was any rattling. I then convinced him to drive with me and hear it. During the ride, he denied hearing anything even though it was obvious. During the end of the ride, he eventually heard it and it was later fixed. During another instance I brought my car here for warranty work, I noticed that they added over 30 miles to my car. What kind of work requires adding 30 miles to my car? They must have driven my car to their house and then back. Always write down the odometer reading when you drop off your car here. In 2014, my Civic encountered an SRS code. This code meant that there was something wrong with the safety system (which could mean the air bag or seat belt). I was not able to use an OBD-II diagnostic tool to investigate since the tool only read CEL (check engine light), so I performed some research online. I found that it was very common for 2001-2005 Civics and Accords to have faulty seat belt buckle switch sensors. This sensor is located in the seat belt buckle and tells the car when you have your seat belt in or out. Often times, the sensor becomes dirty due to debris and becomes stuck. When it becomes stuck, the computer reads a resistance that is out of tolerance and throws a SRS code. There are two methods to interpret the code - the legit way and the free way. The legit way requires bringing the car to Honda and having them check the code. If your car was bought from the US and the code does indicate a faulty seat belt buckle switch, the diagnostic and replacement is free (due to lifetime safety warranty), however if the issue is something else then the diagnostic fee is ~$100. The free method is using a paper clip and sticking in certain terminals in the OBD-II port. I did it this way and also used a multimeter to read resistance readings from the electrical harness per service manual. As suspected, I got a Code 9-3. After I confirmed that it was the seat belt buckle sensor, I tried to take my car to Honda to have it fixed. The first time I tried, I took off one vacation day and drove my car to the dealership, only to be told that they could not fit me in even though I made an appointment... WTF. I then came back once more and they fixed it. Everything was covered under warranty still, but it was a huge hassle. read more

We were car shopping back in March of this year and we narrowed our list down to a few make/models. My wife works in Baytown and so we made some appointments through their Internet Sales rep, Jamie. Jamie was very responsive in email and forthcoming with pricing information. She even agreed to accompany my wife on a test drive after work one evening. We didn't end up going with a Honda but not through any fault of the dealership or brand.
