Having recently gone to pick up my husband at the Ontario airport and finding ourselves hungry- I quickly hopped on Yelp to see what restaurants were around that were worth trying. At a healthy amount of stars, variety of foods and rave reviews- Compadres Cantina seemed to check all my boxes! At 3pm on a Wednesday, we found it empty and had it all to ourselves! While I admit that may have worried me in the past - it isn't the first time I have found myself at a restaurant with delicious food having initially found it empty. So I looked forward to trying their food! From the salsa, guac and chips. To all the plates we ordered - the flavors were flavoring. Even the drinks , my kids horchatas which tasted delicious- like a liquid arroz con leche. And my husbands and I Micheladas and cocktails . Everything was in point. 10/10 recommend and would 100 percent go back. Service was great as well!
My last few visits to this place were outstanding, today the food was not good. I ordered the surf and turf burrito wet, the same thing I ordered the last time. The burrito comes with pico de gallo sauce inside, which I asked the server to not put inside since I do not like onions. The burrito arrived and after a few bites I noticed the pico de gallo sauce was inside and I began to pick away at the onions. Besides having the onions to deal with the carne asada was way over done and burnt on some portions. Definitely did not live up to my last few visits. On a whole the burrito just did not taste anything like it did my first time trying it. Dining area is large and great music playing.
5 star for the Service Laura is very attentive and knowledgeable about her menu. Has a great attitude love that would be back mainly to have her be my server again! We ordered the wet green salsa burrito . It's like this creamy sour cream green sauce it taste delicious. I also got the buttered garlic shrimp with the rice and salad. Wish the shrimp had garlic chunks but it was still very tasty . The rice had good flavor as well . We also got the crunch roll fried. BOMB. I dipped it in the green sauce that was in the burrito was even better lol . The fish tostada was mid. I expected more fish and I had more cucumber and tomato than anything so I won't be ordering that again. Now the bottomless mimosas 25$ worth it ! Ambiance is casual it's chill on a Friday afternoon nothing to crazy!
First time coming to try this place don't waste your time. A lot of the food you see on yelp is no longer available. Their new menu doesn't have a lot of options. On top of that it seems like the owner is pinching food. We ordered chicharrón with guacamole it looks like they bought it from the grocery store the ones in a bag you get for like $4 but they put it in the microwave to get it hot. The guac was good. They messed up my mango michelada 3 times. Idk how you mess that up but they managed to do so. I ordered the taco flight I'll show you the picture of what my surf and turf taco looked like but it was all turf and no surf. It wasn't good anyway. The service was actually good the gentleman who helped us did a great job. The ambiance was alright. It has a lot of potential with the right owner who isn't cutting corners. I don't recommend this place.
The place is located in the Food for Less shopping center and as we passed by we thought why not try. It has a covered outdoor seating area and it seems like a nice place to seat but it was hot so we went inside. The entrance is covered so you can't see inside until seated. It has tvs playing sports, news , and I'm sure they would accommodate your choice. We were seated at a corner table and it was empty except for some young girls having lunch. We were handed 5 menus - drinks, brunch, lunch, specials , meal combos. I think it would be easier to combined them into a menu book. We settled on a lime margarita and cucumber lemonade. First Mexican restaurant I've been to that doesn't give you tortilla chips and salsa When they came we tried them and they kind of tasted the same- you could definitely taste the line but not a fresh lime juice like a bitter lime. The cucumber lemonade was more like a limeade with a splash of cucumber. We ordered the Molcajete which wasn't described in the menu, it had steak, chicken, cheese, green onion, green chiles, sausage, small shrimps and the Molcajete sauce which brought everything together nicely. I tried the meat without the sayce first and they were freshly made, tender, moist, juicy perfectly cooked but with the sauceyummy. It came with a platter of rice, beans, pico de gallo and pickled onions. The rice was fluffy, soft and tasty, the beans were creamy and well prepared not too much cheese. The meal was perfect and at 60 dollars it was pricy but worth it. I wish it would have also included a couple of bacon wrapped shrimp and not just the small shell on shrimp that were buried on the bottom. We will be back!
Walked out without ordering today . Sat down , given the menu , and waited 20 mins , no one asked what can we order. I went to the host, asked for server , she came back and said some one will be there soon . Waited another 5 minutes , and everyone one still ignoring us . So never mind . Spend my money next door .
I reallyyyyyyy was looking forward to this place because of all of the great reviews. We made reservations and realized it was going to be crowded because of Cinco de Mayo and Happy Hour. The place is smaller than I thought but it was fun and festive almost like a club, with a dj and everything. Our experience started off good, our waiter was nice and we requested to wait for happy hour and he was kind about it. But after a lot more people got seated around us, we were completely ignored. The bigger parties got serviced faster, received their drinks and foods A LOT FASTER. My bf and I ordered nachos and two taco flights yet our server heard one taco flight. So we shared one taco flight while waiting for the other to be delivered. Never arrived. We ordered another round of drinks...again never received them. We were seated in the middle and I felt like the outer tables were seen and the inside tables were totally invisible. Another pair next to us experienced the same thing because they looked just as irritated as us. We could've saved time and just went to another Mexican restaurant with better service and better food. The taco flight was basic. Needless to say, wont be visiting again nor recommending.
Wow! What an awesome find. The pics and reviews did compadres justice. We had awesome service for our large party and a really enjoyable evening. Our cocktails were all so on point. Everyone really enjoyed ourselves. Faves were the whiskey smash, guava margarita and the sangria! The fruit ourees in the drinks were all House made and totally made the cocktails. Everyone was happy with their food! Which for 8 of us, that's pretty hard to do. We tried the birria tacos, pork belly tacos, shrimp, pozole, Cali burrito and the molcajete. The molcajete was stand out for me. The sauce/salsa it was cooked in was the best and the meat was all tender and moist. Nothing was overcooked! 100/100 recommend. Absolutely worth the $50. Don't skip it. Highly recommend for a memorable birthday dinner.
I did a quick searchi on Yelp for food in the area while on a trip and this place looked intriguing. Decided to give it a try and it was not a disappointment! Cool vibes with music playing and welcoming staff. They have a bar, high top tables, and larger tables for groups; there is a patio out front as well. The food was SO good. Guacamole and chips for the table, which came with two salsas. The green sauce was so good! The red sauce was good as well but definitely didn't gravitate towards it as much. Tacos are a la carte, which was convenient so I could try different options. Battered fish, cryspy shrimp, and "camaron enchilado" were my choices. Of the three, the enchilado was my favorite. I got a mango michelada for my beverage and was pleasantly surprised at the size of it for the price. I was expecting a pint glass but this was quite large.
Food sucks now.. I showed the lack of food quality to the waitress and she said the guy in the kitchen was new.. ok but the price is more for less.. sooooo
Absolutely delicious! Everything was exquisite, customer service was great as well, waited a little bit to be seated but the food made up for it, prices are great, definitely a hidden gem! It's so worthy of trying! Just thinking about it makes my mouth watery!
First time there, we went after a gym session. Sat at the bar and some drinks. I didnt get pics but the bartender made me a delicious OldFashion. I enjoyed my burrito and the sauce too. It actually had some spice to it. Normally restaurants dont, but this one did. Thank you!

I first seen this place on yelp about a week before the covid caused it to close. Today was my first time trying it out and I must say everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I went with my sister and our mom to finally give it a shot and we were not disappointed one bit. It was empty on account people aren't probably to comfortable dining in just yet. We were immediately welcomed and shown to our table. My sister and I both got the cucumber jalepeno margarita, our mom got the tamarindo margarita. They were both delicious and had just the right amount of alcohol. The cucumber jalepeno margarita had just the right amount of heat with out taking away from the alcohol. The tamarindo margarita wasn't to tangy or sweet. We also ordered the carne asada fries and poke tuna nachos. The asada fries were great! The carne had good seasoning and was not fatty or chewy. My mom is not a fan of any type of raw fish so when the tuna came out we didn't mention to her it was tuna. She grabbed a wonton chip with tuna avacado and the sauces they add. To my surprise she loved them. Both my sister and I said the poke nachos were some of the best we have every tasted. After my sister and I finished our drinks I decided to get a michelada and my sister ordered the mango white claw michelada. My michelada was made with a pacifico I thought it was good, not the best one I have every had, but not the worst. Id say top 5 I have ever had. The mango white claw on the other hand was the most delicious drink I have ever had. If I could compare it to something I would say the mango Chile lollipop. Absolutely phenomenal. I would absolutely recommend this place to people. If your looking for a good drink and some finger food give this place a try you won't regret it. read more

I have been here twice, pre-COVID-19 and during COVID-19. Both times I had a good experience, of course I'm going to prefer my pre-covid experience only because we were able to sit inside. During covid they have tables set outside with canopies for shade and people are pretty spaced out. Food was still just as good and the servers were very attentive. One day I came for taco Tuesday but I definitely prefer coming Monday's to take advantage of their all day happy hour! This place is a hidden gem. This place has similar options similar to Tempo Cantina restaurants. Except more affordable and in the Inland Empire. The location is mediocre, but make no mistake it's worth going. Drinks and the food are good, they have outside dinning during a COVId time. You will need to be aware that Friday's and weekends this place gets busy. Good place for just meeting up with friends or on a date night. Very casual place with a bit of a trendy vibe to it. Margarita flights are also very popular. read more

my husband and i seriously love this place!! the food never disappoints, the staff is fun and friendly, and the ambiance is great! we even got a personal singer for my friends birthday. our guests had so much fun and raved about everything they had. our faves: (apps) poke nachos azul bacon shrimp (entrees) bone marrow tacos!!!! taco flight enchiladas shrimp tacos (drinks) cucumber margarita (&vodkarita) old fashioned bartender also made us his own version of a green tea drink with whiskey it is a bit pricey but it's a treat yoself kinda place for my husband and our friends, can't wait to be back! read more

Today was our first time eating here and we loved it! From the inferno roll to the pulpo quesataco and the poke tuna nachos, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! The churros and the butter cake were also delicious. We look forward to coming back and trying more! :) read more

First time at Compadres Cantina and it was AMAZING!!! Shout out to Teresa for making my bestfriend and I feel so welcomed! The drinks are amazing (Tamarindo and Watermelon, Oh and Cucumber and Mango Margarita... Just Try all of them!) the food is so good. We got the carne asada nachos which were bomb! My friend and I had lunch here yesterday. I had the grilled octopus entree, and she had 3 different tacos. We also shared the guacamole. We each had a Bloody Mary and a different margarita. My octopus was delicious, and I tried her crispy shrimp taco, which was delicious also. The drinks are good and strong, which I like! Service was EXCELLENT! Our server had a very positive and upbeat vibe, and was on top of things. We'll definitely be back! I want to try the margarita flight next time! read more
Drinks are way too sweet. We ordered margaritas and the purée they use is much too sugary. We also ordered the rock n roll "sushi" roll and it was way too sweet also. Too much eel sauce. I think this place has a good idea in that they want to provide more unique food choices than your typical Mexican food spot but they're missing the mark. It's as if they cover their food and drinks with sugar to make up for lack of flavor. Spend a bit more time tweaking the recipes of the food and drinks so you don't resort to drenching every thing in sweetness and in spice. They also add too much hot spicy sauce to everything and not all people can eat that level of heat, it ruined my food. I couldn't finish the pulpo quesataco. We left the roll it was too sweet. If you like sushi, REAL sushi, then this isn't the place for you. Also be careful they overcharge here so double check your bill. They use little screens to charge you and not paper receipts which helps them in getting away with overcharging as most people won't take the time to review the screen line by line. We went during happy hour and they were charging regular price for all our drinks. Buyer beware. The food looks better than it tastes same goes for the margaritas. We did not have a reservation, and it was easy to get a table.

Our group was ten and we were at one of the larger tables. Not sure if they connect other smaller tables to accommodate even bigger groups.
