Ah so we've been clients here for over a decade. All our dogs seem to hate it here, and that could be just because it's where they have the most not-so-fun experiences. We used to be able to go to the rooms with our dogs, but they (understandably) changed their policy due to Covid. However, they've still maintained the same policy, even though masks are required. My biggest complaint about this place is the doctor. He has never been very patient with me or my family. He always seems rushed, too busy to take the time to answer our questions thoroughly. I always thought this was just his vibe, but then during one of our last visits, I saw that he was completely the opposite with this elderly white man. It tracked. Besides this doctor, the other staff are hit & miss with their service. They do always seem to be excited to see my dog, but they can seem pretty rushed and impatient as well. There was another doctor who worked here for a little while but has since left. She was much better, in my opinion. I have recently changed clinics (I'm over at Bethany Family Pet Clinic now), and my concerns seem to be taken way more seriously. They are much more patient and thorough with check-ups. They also allow you to accompany your pet in the back rooms. I was a little sad to be leaving a clinic I've gone to for so long, but it's been a good change. read more

I've got a mixed review, so I opted for right-down-the-middle stars. The office staff is amazing. Our pup's spay surgery went flawlessly, and they kept things incredibly easy and streamlined. Vet tech was great with our girl upon follow-up. Super happy with ALL of that. The surgeon called us prior to surgery and tried arguing with us about not believing our pup's age (we literally know her birthday) and therefore refused to do part of the procedure we'd requested. I reiterated that we were sure and had more than sufficient reliable veterinary input on it, but he still declined to oblige. He didn't listen to or respect a damn thing we said. We wound up having go back to our regular vet and pay another $500 not two weeks later to put her back under anesthesia and take care of the part he'd refused to do, as it was re-confirmed to be necessary. Not a fan of being brushed off. Not thrilled that being brushed off cost us hundreds more than it should've. In general, woulda been a GREAT experience if the vet himself had been more respectful. read more

Do not use this clinic if you are concerned about your cat being treated well! I have two cats that went to this clinic for about a year and a half before I realized what was happening. They saw this vet since they were 12 weeks old. Both extremely loving and friendly kittens to everyone. Things were fine for the first couple visits and getting them neutered. At about a year old, one kitten was labeled "spicy" and I was told that I needed to heavily sedate him before taking him in. I thought that was odd but complied. Later after switching vets, I have only been told wonderful things about him and when I ask, they say he's always on best behavior.. without any sedation at all. The other kitten started showing fearful behavior post visit that would escalate and get worse every time we brought him in. This has slightly gotten better but he is terrified of anyone touching him now besides myself and my husband. The long term effects causing my extremely social and friendly cat to be terrified of being touched is the most concerning part. I would honestly sue the clinic but I have no proof as I was never allowed into the room with them. This was all last year (2022) when most other clinics let everyone back with their pets. I have horrible guilt for letting this happen and not being able to do anything about it. Do not bring your cats here or go to any vet that will not let you supervise the visit! read more

Companion Pet Clinic Aloha Or. On 185th Ave. My wife and I have been taking our cats there for years. The present cat for 11 years and plus our previous pets. Few months ago our cat was fighting a cold , so we took her to their clinic. I told the receptionist a very nice lady and I told her our cat has a cold. I asked if I could talk to the vet after examination. The receptionist presented me with the cost for her cold. The initial bill she gave me was over $ 900 . I said to the receptionist $ 900 for a cold ? I asked her if my cat needs all the things that's listed. She went back and asked the vet and he said maybe we can skip one of the tests. Anyway after going back and forth the new invoice came to about $ 600. I called my wife about the $ 900 initial bill she said the last time our other cat had the cold taken to another vet it was about $ 350 with the medicine. I told the receptionist to go ahead with the treatment and that I would be waiting in the car. Anyway the bill came to about $ 600 just for a cold. Like I said earlier in my review we have been taking our pets there to Dr. Lueck for years. And couple days later I went to the clinic and spoke to the receptionist and wanted to speak to Dr. Leuke but he was not in. After all the years Dr. Leuke never bothered to come out to talk to me. NEVER. The communication was between me to the receptionist to Dr. Leuke. He can't take the time to meet a very long time customer. All he can do present us with a $ 900 initial bill. I asked the receptionist Dr. Lueck can't talked to me but he was to busy. And I could actually see her at the computer while talking to the receptionist. She said she will tell Dr. Lueck that I am upset and he would call me. But what really upset me was that I was not important enough to talk to after all these years. That's poor customer service. We will never recommend or go there again. I guess $$$'s is more important then actually satisfying a long time customer. read more

i've waited for two months for reply from the office management brought my dog in on March 1 heavy bleeding went through two towels bath towels filled with blood you charged me $862.50 for lab work said you'd call me within the next couple of hours if not the next day or so keep her comfortable later I realize my dog was gonna die, brought her to the hospital they had to do emergency hysterectomy. Her uterus was hanging out of her that you guys did not know it prolapsed Uterus was amazing, I want my money back. I'm gonna keep reviewing until this is taken care of. The nice vet walked me thru the year of treatment and gave me a detailed timeline with dates of the meds needed even tho they dont sell the heartworm meds and gave me a prescription .. 10 out of 10! read more

Your pet is a member of the family, you want professional care; there are many veterinarians in the area, you don't need to go here. We lost our Gus Gus about a month ago and he lived a wonderful little cat life even in his old man years. They were very kind and very helping and after everything was said and done I believe they sent us a couple extra things to remember our little man by. I am no longer a client at Companion, though I was for many years. Dr. Lueck was especially wonderful with my elder pug, who had some difficult health issues. And Lesley, at the front desk, always made me feel like more than just a client. There were times I felt I was pushed into treatments or products that were unnecessary but I either didn't mind in the name of being thorough, or just said no and felt comfortable with that. Things have changed over the last few years. There has been a high turnover in vet tech staff. They do remove the animals to the backroom which I think is more stressful than it needs to be. My young dog nipped at the new staff while getting her anal glands done, but I have been assured by groomers and other vets she is always a sweetheart with them. What finally made me stop going was one particularly busy afternoon I came in with my cat for shots. I asked that my husband be allowed to take him out of the carrier and handle him, since he is very feisty. Instead one of the staff members kept grabbing at him and jumping back when he hissed, which got him even more upset. They took him into the back and came out a while later and said they would not be able to give him his shots unless I sedated him... an expensive alternative and can be dangerous in cats. At first I said it was fine and made an appointment to come back, but as I was waiting to check out I heard them recommend the same thing to another cat owner and when she mentioned she might have better luck (and less stress) at a clinic that specializes in cats they argued with her why that wouldn't make a difference. I decided to try a vet closer to home that I had gone to several times with my mom's pets. Sure enough, though still not very cooperative, they were able to use a towel to secure my cat and gave him his shots without a problem and without the added expense and danger of sedation. I have mixed feelings about this since I was happy with them for so long, but my animals come first. I feel like they need to figure out their staffing issues in order to reduce the chaos and stress of the busy times and things would run a lot smoother for everyone. read more

This vet clinic is a SCAM. They will charge you for services they didn't provide, recommend unnecessary tests, and charge fees that are DOUBLE what you'll pay elsewhere. We brought our sick cat to them and had an exam done. He had been vomiting, having diarrhea and had stopped eating for a few days. They told us it was due to stress and sent us home. Two days later, our cat was in really bad shape so we brought him back in. They told us we needed xrays and blood tests done, quoting us at $850 for everything. We had the xrays done and they referred us to Tanasbourne Emergency due to a possible blockage in his intestines. They told us they would have our xrays sent over to Tanasbourne. Well, it turns out they never sent the xrays, so the doctor at Tanasbourne had to re-do them. We also realized they charged us for services they didn't provide, and later refused to correct the error. Our xrays at Companion cost us $394. Tanasbourne only charges $200 for the same xrays. Tanasbourne kept our cat for 24 hours, administered fluids and meds through IV, did 2 sets of xrays and an ultrasound, and sent our cat home healthy. Our bill from them came out to the SAME PRICE as our 1-hour clinic visit and xrays at Companion. These people LACK INTEGRITY. Please AVOID taking your animals here, especially if they're sick. It's a matter of time before Companion Pet Clinic of Aloha is out of business. read more

This place is not ran correctly at all. The vet is constantly trying to sell you things that are not needed. The communication from the staff is never accurate and the lack of training is very apparent amongst most of them. The turnover is ridiculous. Thanks to Companion Pet Clinic on 185th/Walker Rd. Had an emergency with my pet on Saturday. When I arrived, I called the office and they came out to get my pet. Protecting their staff and myself which I truly appreciate. Yes, it was a costly visit but being on a Saturday I was able to have peace of mind that my pet was treated with love and professionalism. I love that they answer all my questions even after I've left the office and they always do a follow up phone call. I was treated with respect by the front office gals customer service was great... but I am extreamly upset with the way the vet handled my lil dude. I came in this morning to drop off my 5 month old puppy for a neuter, he is a minature schnauzer mix. The vet came into the exam room and immediately began asking a ton of questions about my pup. Not once did he say Hello, Good morning, How are you guys, How old is he...nothing like that. The he proceeds to examine my puppy. (remember, he is a puppy and is still getting used to meeting new people) The vet did not take even 5 seconds to let my puppy sniff him or get comfortable with him at all, didnt give himm a treat to relax him...nothing. He just began poking and prodding him. Them when my puppy whipped his head around and tried to nip the vet because he was scared, (he didnt even nip him just gestured like he was going to) he aggressively grabbed him by the mouth and shouted NO, NO, NO in his face. I was mortified! He then finished the exam and grabbed my puppy and walked out. Didnt give me a chance to say goodby and physically hand him to the vet so he was a little more comfortable and less scared. I will never go back here again, I am so upset with teh way a 5 month old puppy was handled. read more

We just switched today to Companion Pet Clinic-Aloha and after only one visit I am so pleased! We saw Dr. Measday, who answered all my questions very thoroughly. I'm especially grateful that she took the time to find out enough about my dog's personality and anxiety triggers that we decided to wean her off of one of her old medications, which can have negative effects if used long-term, and she suggested a safer alternative treatment. She was so kind and caring, and she and the technician were so sweet and gentle with my anxious girl. On a practical note, I also really appreciated the way that the incidental charges for things like the vaccinations were explained to me before, rather than after, the procedures actually took place. Friendly, efficient staff and excellent care--thank you so much! Edited to add: Since Dr. Measday was subbing for Dr. Lueck (he obviously was careful in choosing a vet to cover for him--she's very good!), he must have taken the time to review charts in detail once he got back. He called because he wanted to check with me about the medications she's still on (prescribed by our former vet, not Dr. Measday). She's doing well on them, so we left the treatment plan in place, but I was so appreciative that he read my dog's records carefully and took the time to follow up! I also got a follow-up message from the office staff to give me the name of an animal behaviorist. All this care and concern from just one visit! I'm so impressed! read more

First I'll say this clinic is NOT in association with the one in Beaverton. We all know the story with that place and we know it's garbage this place is not to be affiliated with that location. All companion clinics are INDEPENDENTLY owned. So this one is different. Also this is not a emergency clinic, as far as I'm aware, and this is a place you wanna take your pet for primary care, tests, shots, or dental. They do offer surgeries and other things but not as a walk in emergency. With the pandemic things may have changed as far as making appointments only and only offering certain services. Ended up going here cause there one of the few places that would give care to my dog and not booked months out. Dr. Lawerence is great ! Very thorough, and very kind. The rest of the staff from the receptionist to the technicians also thorough and professional. They are doing the best given the circumstances due to the pandemic. read more

I'm a little surprised at the fairly low ratings for this Companion Pet Clinic. It's been the vet of choice for Fiona-my Scottish Terrorist- for all 7 years of her doggie life. The front desk women and the 2 vets all are friendly, listen carefully to my questions and I appreciate that I usually get a Doggy Score Card when I go in for checkups or shots for her so I am aware of any issues that I need to look out for. Granted it's a first come first served pet clinic but that helps in many instances in my opinion. Also I often call ahead and ask if they are busy or not..if the're busy I know not to go right then. I've found both Erik and Barry to be thoughtful, careful with my doggies feelings when she gets upset and nips at them and they tell me in English what might be wrong with Fiona. They also keep me up to date checking for things that have been problems for her even if I'm in for something else. She has ear problems and the docs always check her ears, even without my asking them to. Their prices are average...I called Rock Creek Pet Hospital when I first got Fiona and their Puppy First Year package was quite a bit more expensive than Companions too. That first year with all the immunizations gets expensive without the package pre-paid. I was in yesterday to buy the diet dog food she needs as she's gotten a bit porky-this food is less expensive at the vet than it is right next door at the big box pet store. It's convenient, friendly, I can always find a parking place and usually get in fairly quickly and the prices are equatable or less expensive than other vets close by. I have been going to Companion Pet Clinic for the last 12 years. I love all the staff, and more importantly my three giants love the staff, in fact we stop in just to say Hi to Dr Lueck, Leslie, Beth and the whole crew because our dogs love them so much. The staff and Dr Lueck know how much we love our babies and take the utmost care with them. I never feel pressured to treat my babies I feel that Dr Lueck and the staff know how expensive it is to keep your pets healthy and they take that into consideration when recommending services. Just an FYI, raising healthy pets is not cheap and it is the responsibility of the owner to be able to pay for those services, it is not the responsibility of the clinic to make those services cheaper for you to afford. Having a pet is a big responsibility, and every pet owner out there that has complained about cost needs to understand that this is a business, they are there to provide exceptional care, and to make money.... you would never barter services at your place of employment. I encourage people who read this review, to come into the clinic and have a conversation with Dr Lueck and the staff about what your expectations are, not only will they meet those expectations they will exceed them. Dr Lueck on multiple occasions has called two or three days later just to check on my babies to make sure the course of treatment is working and on the mend. I have never had another vet ever do that in 25 years of owning dogs and cats. They are just the best! read more

We have been here for almost 3+ years, ever since we got our 1st dog a labradoodle. The Doc (Barry i think?) is really nice, and gave very helpful tips. He is not one of those pushy trying to sell things to you. I find them very honest and upfront. I was introduced to this place by a long time friend of mine, and i think they gave me one of the best referrals ever. Our dog was very car sick, for almost 2+ years. Then he adviced us to take some fun trips and short ones. So he knows he isnt headed to the vet everytime :-). We tried that simple thing and now he seems almost grown out of it. He is still a bit nervous in long trips, but seems not that anxious as before. Thanks! read more

I do not understand how this place can have even 3 stars. This company is by far one of the worst places I have ever dealt with. I took my cat in because he was having some trouble going to the bathroom and was obviously in pain. After they looked at him, they told me he had a serious condition and would not make it through the night if I hadn't acted. My cat isn't just a pet to me, he is part of our family. So naturally, I was devistated to hear this news. They charged me $1100 to keep him for no more than 5 hours and send him home still in pain. Needless to say, I took him back the next day to find that the problem had not been fixed. They said that it looked like I would end up having to put him down. I couldn't wrap my head around how my cat was still this bad after having spent over a grand to keep him there for not even half a day. I decided to get a second opinion and thank god I did, because the other place I took my cat had a completely different diagnosis. Turns out mt cat had a very common and easily fixed issue. There was absolutely NO reason to even think about putting him down. The new place kept him for 2 nights and charged me significantly less for the entire procedure. Plus, they were incredibly kind and understanding, something Companion was not. To sum this up, Companion over charged me for not treating my cat properly, threatened having to put him down, was INCREDIBLY rude and not at all compassionate. Their bedside manor was absolute horrible, telling me that my cat would die that night unless I paid that ridiculous amount! That's emotional blackmail! I wish there was a way I could give them a negative star rating. Horrible, unfit company. read more
