Vanilla bean lattes (one with pistachio milk & one with dairy milk); the most unique milk substitute we've seen in WeHo so far
    Jodie F.

Saw that they have pistachio milk, had to visit! It was about $13 for two 16-oz lattes with syrup (+ $1) & milk substitution (+ $.50). Most cafes charge like $1 for milk subs so this was very reasonable. It's definitely the most affordable coffee place we tried in WeHo so far. My latte with pistachio milk was pretty good! Hope they expand the menu, would love to try different flavors. My boyfriend's latte with dairy milk was underwhelming. We barely tasted the espresso. Will give it another try & ask for less milk next time haha. Small store with indoor & outdoor seating available. Street parking only.

Not sure if the name came from what I'm about to say, but this cute spot has a compellingly good iced coffee. Sometimes you find a good cold ice coffee and after a few sips it hits you "Wow, this is fantastically good coffee!" I had one of those moments today after ordering. From what I saw it's street parking only. However, I was able to park on the street for free before 11am on Sunday! Score!

Though this place is located in one of the newest buildings in the block (the line lofts) there is sketchy activity going on in the street so please don't seat on the tables outside if you're just a girl by yourself. Now the coffee and pastries is what drawn my friend and I into this place. We ordered the breakfast sandwhich (egg, bacon, avocado and chipotle on ciabatta... very compelling for sure!), the blueberry mufin and the orange pastry to share. All three were delicious and pretty filling for a shared breakkie. The coffee was solid and yummy as well. I love the inside plants and the attention. We got here pretty early one weekday morning and the guy in there was super attentive. I will be back accompanied again soon. Street parking.

Great service .fast to service. They have the cleanest oat milk with no fillers . Love the mocha and it right next to the pretty woman hotel with the balcony.

Came here three days in a row because it was walkable from my hotel in WeHo - and because the coffee and food is awesome. I tried: + cold brew + breakfast sandwich + ham and cheese croissant + turkey sandwich (the best food offering, definitely get this) + yogurt with jam and granola Super friendly baristas, too!

Good overall coffee! Super convenient for the folks that live in the neighborhood! I was basic and ordered the vanilla latte with almond milk. It was good and much needed for my commute to work.

I'm compelled to tell others about this coffee shop. Truly tiny yet mighty. A few blocks off the busy drag of Hollywood Blvd is Compelling Coffee. While it is simply a pick up window and a one seat coffeeshop, they focus on their pride and joy: Coffee. They honestly make a mean latte, cappuccino, and drip coffee. The Good Food Award medals only go to prove my point. I appreciate the fact that their coffee is ethically sourced and roasted locally in LA. I also love the option of oat and pistachio milk as an alternative milk offering (+.75 cents). While I have already been here twice, I foresee myself returning in the near future. The friendly staff, delicious lattes and chocolate banana bread (which also happens to be gluten free) are all stellar.

Small local place, we are here from out of town and I love trying new and local places and this one happened to be close to our hotel. They have lots of plants on the inside (I love plants so that is a bonus). A few stools to sit and they have a few pastries and juices and they also sell their bagged coffee. Only one size of coffee though, I like a big coffee so I was a bit disappointed about that. Service was quick and friendly. Only three choices for flavored syrup but they did have pumpkin for all those pumpkin lovers. We would definitely come back.

The vibes were immaculate- cozy, relaxed and the kind of place that makes you want to stay a while. There was even a woman with two dogs and she had brought their little beds for them! We kept it simple with an Ube latte for me and a sunset punch for my partner. The latte was perfect and not that horrific sweetness that tends to be the hallmark of most places these days and the lemonade was fresh and perfect for a lightly sunny drive over to the West Side. I knew I had to have the English muffin from the moment I saw it. We requested it simply toasted with butter and jam and shared each half. I wish I had a dog to sit and enjoy my time there as they offered free drip coffee refills. Maybe that's where I'll be later this week as I'm definitely coming back, and soon!

The cortado was solid, though not one of the stronger ones I've had. Presentation and latte art were decent, but there were some visible micro bubbles and the surface had a noticeable two-tone appearance rather than a fully integrated, glossy texture. The drink was also served hotter than a cortado should be, which made it difficult to pick up the coffee's character at first. As it cooled, some pleasant citrus notes started to come through and the drink became more enjoyable. Overall, a solid coffee shop with great atmosphere. I enjoyed the experience, but I think better milk integration and a more appropriate serving temperature would have elevated the cortado quite a bit.

The cafe was not particularly busy, so I was able to get in and out in about five minutes. My friend had recommended the halva croissant as a must-try, as not many bakeries seem to carry this specific flavor. I wasn't familiar with halva, but it's a ground sesame paste that's rich, nutty, and not too sweet. I loved how crunchy the bottom of the croissant was. There was definitely some caramelization that occurred in the oven. The croissant as a whole was very flakey as well -- not something you want to eat in a car where you'll get crumbs everywhere. I didn't feel like the croissant necessarily needed the powdered sugar on top. My guess is that the powdered sugar was included to mimic the appearance of an almond croissant that folks are more familiar with. If you're stopping by Friends & Family, I would highly recommend trying out their halva croissant.

We came in after lunch looking for a sweet treat and ordered a variety of things. Across the board everything was just okay. The coconut cakes weren't fresh and had already started to dry out, which for a dessert spot is a hard thing to overlook. But the food was the least of our issues -- the customer service is where things really went sideways, twice. First, my friend ordered a chrysanthemum drink only to be told they were out, something that wasn't noted anywhere on the kiosk. The worker pointed her toward the fridge with zero additional instruction. Naturally she picked a drink and opened it, as anyone would. A few moments later the same worker comes over, asks for the bottle, grunts, sighs, and says "did you open this?" When we said yes he shook his head, muttered that she wasn't supposed to, and walked away. No explanation, no apology -- just attitude. He came back, poured it into another cup with ice, and that was that. The second incident was equally frustrating. After I ordered and paid for the Mango Slush Coconut Milk, he came back to tell me they were out of coconut milk and asked if I'd be okay with regular milk. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I said no and asked him to show me my options. He walked away without a word, disappeared into the back, and then came out telling me my drink was ready. I double checked that it was coconut milk and not regular -- he confirmed and walked off. The drink tasted off though, noticeably more mango heavy than coconut milk forward, which made me wonder about the ratios. And what was strange is that after being told there was no coconut milk, it somehow reappeared. Make it make sense. The concept here has real potential and I hope they find their footing, but between the mediocre food and the communication issues, I won't be making a return visit anytime soon.

I don't mind sweetness, but these leaned a bit too heavily in that direction for me, which ended up masking some of the coffee's flavor. I'm over a year into being a regular here and I still haven't found a place near me thats better for what I need for the early morning work sessions. The coffee is great!. I rotate between their drip coffee (which changes regularly) and their house-made almond and macadamia milk latte, which is one of my favorite lattes Ive had in LA. That house milk blend is the move. I also love their food and their chef and kitchen staff is exceptional at that they do. Their simple bean and cheese burrito is a staple, but the egg, bean and cheese burrito with tater tots is also something I like to get from time to time. They all are served with house made salsas, that I wish I knew the recipe to.
