I give them 4 stars for their variety of inventory and standing by their warranty…read more Initially I was concerned when it took a couple of attempts to resolve a tricky mechanical issue. They eventually came through for me and did what it took to resolve the problem (fixed the issue). This company will definitely look out for their own interests, before yours, so you need be careful on price and warranty concerns. I would say its better to deal with them than a private individual however one should take the same precautions as if it were a private owner sale. That is, have the vehicle inspected as a condition of the sale. Make sure that you get at least a 2 month warranty that covers everything, or be prepared to walk out the door. Also, when haggling on price, make sure that you are negotiating on "out the door" price and beware that they will include a miscellaneous show room charge into the final deal. I know that when I questioned the extra fee, they acted like it was in the fine print somewhere and I should have known that. Also, be aware to double check any facts and request evidence of everything that you are told about the car. I don't believe that they will necessarily try to rip you off. I think they intend to follow the letter of the law, when making a sale and no more. For example, I was given a verbal promise to fix something that was not in the warranty. That promise was not kept in the end, however they did fix a serious problem that was covered by the warranty. I let the issue go because of the diligence in fixing the serious problem. I'm mostly ok with the sale and would buy from them again, but would go into the next deal with more care. There's a lot of good people that work for the company and one should understand the risk of selling used performance vehicles. They need to make a buck too. I did not find them to be snobby, like some complained. It's not 4.8 stars of quality though. I think we all know how companies get these scores on the internet. That said, I would give them 5 stars if they would have been a more customer focused and communicated more effectively.

Why 3 stars you ask? Well, pricing. Because some of the cars are harder to find on lots, they fell that they can charge a premium for the product. Premium meaning above NADA book value. They tell you that they can do this because you can't find this particular in the area. That's true, you usually can't, but to me, that's a turn off. It almost feels like they are taking advantage of the situation to get as much cash out of you as they can. If your looking for a more unique, sportier, muscle type car, this place is worth checking out. Everyone is friendly with very little pressure. Go in their armed. Find another similar car...price it, then visit them.

I frequent 3 of the areas stores under this families name. I sometimes see the counter guys at the other locations. While they don't greet me by name, they do acknowledge my being a regular. I truth, although I've been a regular for about 10 years, I don't know I could recollect their names either. But 10:1 they will be spot on when asked to track down a part and have it available often the same day, but usually the next. Or they will call the nearby store and find if it's readily avail NOW, and make sure you are the one who buys it if you make the trip. Auto Zone today failed me in this grievous error and minutes ago I noted their outright miserable customer service performance as I saw appropriate. At first, I called the shop in order to inquire about some small short fuses for my jeep. After a…read moreshort description of the issue, which was my AC fuse blowing, the representative essentially told me I just need to come in and look for the part. Additionally, they told me that the fuse wouldn't fix it, but if I wanted to come in and spend money I could do that anyways. I also brought in samples of the original fuse as well as fuses that I bought from AutoZone. I noticed that there were different volt ratings on each type of fuse, not just the amps. When I had asked about what potentially could happen with the fuse, and if it would fail sooner if it was not rated for a specific voltage, I was not provided a thorough answer. I don't expect all representatives at auto part stores to have some an electrical engineering background, however, I would expect for someone to explain a little bit more, rather than them just selling the product and telling the customer to "make sure you keep the receipt "

He does the job right the first time without overcharging you. I needed a headlight fixed and he was able to get me in right away. He got it done so quickly and was so kind! I felt like I was taking it to a friend. It's really important as a woman to find a good mechanic that won't talk down to you or take advantage of you. Precision Automotive Service has earned my business with all my vehicles permanently!!! During a…read moreroutine oil change, I was told by a "big box" automotive establishment that I needed a new wheel bearing on my vehicle along with a new tie rod, which would then mean the car would also need aligned. The quote was nearly $1,000. They also told me I needed a completely new exhaust... $$$! So, only living here in the Madison area a short time and not really knowing many people, I decided to see who else was around. I sent ten yelp requests for an estimate to local auto shops looking to get only the wheel bearing replaced on my car. I received five responses within a few days. Two told me cost with labor would be $500-$650 and two said they really "needed" to get my car in their shops and "up on a lift" to give me a price. The fifth response was Chris from Precision Automotive. Chris responded right away within a few hours, and a full day before the others, with a detailed estimate of the repair which would get me out the door for almost half what the other two quoted me! So, there's no doubt where I chose. Upon leaving my car, I asked Chris to take a look at my tie rods and my exhaust. Not only did Precision live up to their quote, they told me that my tie rod was completely fine and did not need replaced and that an alignment was not necessary, only misdiagnosed due to the bearing being bad and the inexperience of proper diagnosis. Chris also told me that I didn't need a complete exhaust replacement, only that the pipe before my muffler had a hole in it and that was all that needed replaced and could be done for a tiny fraction of what I was quoted. So, not only did Precision get me out the door for nearly half the next best quote, they saved me from three unnecessary repairs! And not only did they do that, they got me to work (twenty minutes away) and back by lunch with the repair completed and my car ready to go! Before I drove away, I asked for a quote on a new front control arm needed for my mini-van and Chris, without hesitation, quoted me half what I was told at another locally owned auto shop! As I drove away, I noticed that my car wasn't making any grinding noises, the steering wheel wasn't vibrating and had no additional play, and my car wasn't pulling to the side when I broke! My car drove perfectly again. Precision went above and beyond, not only with pricing and a sound repair, but with customer service and honesty. They have earned my business and my loyalty. Moral of the story... I won't take my cars anywhere else again, and I absolutely and very highly recommend them for any service you need on yours!
