We have a local move coming up so I used Yelp to check out moving companies and pick one with great…read morereviews. Patriot Moving Systems caught my attention so I called them to get more information. I talked with Dennis to get answers to my questions. He told me they are full service, meaning they will pack as well as move your household contents. You also have the option to do your own packing. One place I called pretty much only loads and moves your stuff so you have to do your own packing. Patriot sells boxes and packing materials but also suggested Home Depot or Lowe's but said he actually prefers and recommends getting these from U-Haul as he thinks theirs are better quality and sturdier. What I like is the way Dennis explained our options without overly promoting materials through Patriot. He also explained the rates for their services. Basically it is an hourly rate per person plus a trip charge and cost of the truck usage. He came out and walked through or house and then was able to give us a rough estimate of the number of hours we would likely need. We planned to use a staging company so we needed to pack some things to thin out certain areas like closets and kitchen countertops. So we arranged for Patriot to send out three people to box and move things into the garage for three hours and that was a big help. They were focused and hard working guys who went practically non-stop for the time scheduled. Whenever there was a question about packing certain items they asked about it. I could tell that they all knew what they were doing, their experience showed and they treated our things as if they were theirs. Delicate items were wrapped well for protection. Our move is currently on hold as we continue to pursue selling our home but Dennis checks in with me periodically to see how things are going. I will update this review once we actually complete our move but we know who we trust with packing and moving our property.

Another mover showed up and tried to gouge me and tell me my move would take twice as long and they…read morecould only move 2/3 of my stuff. Fired them on the spot, but still needed to move ASAP. Same day I called around and Patriot managed to help me out. Efficient, friendly, and hard-working. We beat the initial quoted time (before the gouging) by a good 30 minutes. I would call them again in an instant.

Terrible doesn't even START to describe this catastrophe. We had a home flood in January, it…read moreflooded and damaged entirely 2 bathrooms, a bedroom, my kitchen and my outside porch. This company came out to my home, stood in my home, looked me in the eyes and told me "don't worry were going to take care of you guys". Well needless to say, they didn't and just created more inconvenience and work for us, the homeowners. They didn't take all the rooms that were damaged, but they took my attic contents because that's where "the source of the water" was but zero damage so taking my contents was redundant and created more work for me to now have to go and put it all back. Nothing was cleaned or repaired like they said they we're going to do. My house isn't even done being deconstructed and I've received my contents back already, forcing more work for me to do when I have to RE-PACK everything so the construction crew can finish demo and reconstruction. Not to mention more money out of my pocket because now I have to go buy packing materials. When I asked about a broken piece of my kitchen table I was told things are going to happen and things will get broke. Not what you want to hear from someone who has your house contents and some of those contents being family heirlooms and completely irreplaceable. So hopefully once I find time in our extremely busy schedules to look through my contents and reorganize everything I won't find anything broken. $16,500 give or take is what they're getting for doing nothing but storing my contents for a few weeks and being a HUGE inconvenience. Not one part of this process helped in any way and was completely redundant. I could have saved the THOUSANDS and not have my homeowners policy go up because of a completely unnecessary procedure. They didn't total loss contents that were CLEARLY water damaged. This company is an emotional predator and preys on people in crisis for a quick cash grab. They did nothing they said they we're going to do, didn't seem to try to convince insurance that things needed to be cleaned or restored or even the correct rooms be taken, and got paid plenty even though they also stated they don't get paid alot for insurance claims. Some of the workers also seemed extremely inexperienced and needed to be told what to do constantly making me uncomfortable with them even handling my antique furniture or contents. They also spent more time using my bathroom than they did packing out my house, just wasting my time and money. I wouldn't recommend this company if it was the last company available. I've also forewarned the people who recommended the packouts to stop recommending them. Terrible experience and just caused so much more emotional distress in an already stressful and devastating situation. I wish I could go back in time and never would have let them in my home.

The price I was quoted was much lower than I ended up paying. The move took way longer than expected (meaning I paid more in hourly costs), and I even paid for the hour the movers took for lunch! After unpacking, I noticed some of my furniture and items to be damaged as well as a few gashes on my new ceiling/walls. I tried to reach someone at the office through phone and email to discuss my concerns (at least 8 times), and I never received a call or email back. Very disappointed!

The top of my long dresser with mirror had the finish scraped off the entire length of the top. The tall dresser was scraped around the corners/sides, and then when they reassembled my platform bed, they over torqued the screw and splintered the frame. I will not be able to move this piece again without further damage to the frame! Pink Zebra's policy is that only $60/+100lb piece of furniture will be refunded which is only 6% of the price of this set -- absolutely not worth it. To make matters worse, the movers scraped the walls in both the location I moved from and to! There were complications in Pink Zebra scheduling a drywaller, so the manager, Avery, with no professional drywalling experience himself came and did a pretty awful drywall and paint job. He didn't even use a roller, only a brush so the paint looks very uneven, and you can still see the wall is uneven where it was scraped. The manager Avery did not stick around to see the job done right. The two movers wrapped one piece of furniture while he was there and didn't bother with protecting the rest of my furniture after he left. They only used the door protectors on the first house entrance and not the second. Since Avery was not there for the remainder of the move, the movers did not do a walk through with me and left as soon as I was told they were done. Lastly, they never updated my credit card charge to reflect the entire bill and Avery noticed 8 weeks after the completion of my move! Here I thought maybe since they gave me such a bad experience that they just would rather eat the cost -- nope. Do not use this company. I've moved 8 times in my life and have never had an experience this bad before. If I wanted to destroy the drywall of a brand new build and ruin my furniture, my partner and I would have moved this ourselves.

Two items wer badly damaged beyond repair. I wish I could add photos to this review. They drilled the screws in so far and with so much force, the screws came out the front to the headboard. If you value your furniture, do not use Pink Zebra!

Tori is AMAZING. Full stop…read more My husband, 3-year-old and I had the opportunity to purchase one of my family's homes in my hometown of DC and things came about quickly and with lots of anxiety. Luckily, I found Tori and, even on the initial estimate walkthrough, she was immediately calming, and so "you-got-this!" that we really felt like we did. Once we hired Tori, she came in like a well-organized storm and got us into a groove that even felt good to a feverish sickie like me (I had a bad cold which was kicking my butt); she recommended and coordinated a phenomenal experience with a great moving company, got us packed (with the exception of the art and record collection, which we left for the movers) within 3 sessions - while entertaining and including our rambunctious 3-year-old, taught us very doable future organizing tools for the new place and was a genuine blast to be around. And when we initially thought we'd be unpacking as soon as we arrived - instead of getting renovations done first as we settled on doing - she offered to put us in touch with a DC-based organizer or to come down and help us herself. Tori is a cut above the rest in professionalism, efficiency, resourcefulness and just general goodness. For such a quick move, we had an excellent experience from start to finish, and that is entirely thanks to Tori.

Tori is truly fantastic!…read more We were feeling unhappy in our 1 bedroom apartment, and rather than inflating our lifestyle and getting a bigger place (or leaving NYC!), we decided to give Tori a try. Yes, techincally you can just dig in and declutter yourself, but when you engage Tori you get several benefits: 1) You carve out a designated time to do this activity 2) Because you're investing in it, you take it very seriouslyi 3) You're saving all the "trial and error" you'd normally get when trying to DIY, which can waste your time and money (if buying mutliple "organization solutions") 4) You get very pro advice! 5) You wouldn't be researching an organizer if you would've done it yourself! Regarding #3: Just having Tori show up and say "do this, change that, get rid of this, and implement these systems" accomplished a home transformation for us in 4 hours. If I tried to do that on my own time, it would've taken 25+ hours, or never have been done properly. I'm so grateful for the time we had with Tori, and I fell in love with our apartment all over again.

Two guys showed up with a huge truck; took about 2 hours to load and drove the 60+ miles to my new home. I explained that I would have to leave before they finished, so I could drive back to Dearborn in the daylight (eyesight issues). That's when it all fell apart. I went back the next day to find plastic wrap strewn around the house, leaves all over the inside of the house, items left wrapped, a dirty bathroom and smoke smell. I contacted Fordson, and was told a slew of lies the worker told him; He said I told them not to enter the garage, FALSE. He said he couldn't find anywhere to dispose of the plastic wrap - THERE WAS A GARBAGE CAN IN THE DRIVEWAY NEXT TO THEIR TRUCK, I was told they aren't responsible for cleaning up after the job. I told Fordson I felt taken advantage of, being alone and older, and that his employee was lying. They made no accommodation and essentially blew me off once they were paid. My Advise: WATCH THEM EVERY MINUTE and make sure a man is around. They will lie and cheat and take advantage of a single woman. BEWARE.
