My 92 year old mother was forced into the new streaming system last October. It has been a year of pure hell trying to help her understand and use the system. They forced her to pay $75 a month for high speed internet service when the only thing it was used for was the television. She has no devices that would require Internet usage. So after a year of hell we took her modem down to the retail office and canceled this fiasco. Their billing runs from the 16 to the 15 of the month. Friday was the 15th. They are closed on the weekends. Because I didn't get down there on Friday they are charging her for another complete month of service that she won't have. Her bill went from $180 to $304/month. She watches local channels and about 3 others. So she has to pay $75 for the Internet, $115 for the package and all the taxes associated with that. Comporium no longer pro-rates a bill. This company is a total ripoff, especially of older seniors who cannot grasp this new technology. They don't care about them at all. read more

I transferred service for cable and internet in Fort Mill paying a total of $168 monthly to a current charge of $240 a month for the same service. When asking if I could receive the previous rate that was transferred after two years, I was told no, that the marketing team determines the promotions and customer service reps "hands are tied". "Oh, you are paying for 600MBPS but only getting 50? Hold on and I will double it to 100 and move you up to the more expensive 750 MBPS plan. Very poor customer service. We had a problem with fax line not working. We wasted several days because they kept saying it was our IT issue. Turns out, they finally admitted its their area and it's been a week and still waiting for it to be corrected. The service is often out or is intermittent. I have called and had multiple technicians out to attempt to fix the issue. They have all failed. I missed the reminder on our last bill, so our current bill is double what it normally is. Cancelled cable (very expensive and rates jump quarterly) and they make you pay your full month bill and then "credit" you the next billing cycle the prorated amount not used! What??? What if I don't have a bill the next month? I cancelled you?? So I pay then get a refund months later? Who works this way! I had Comporium for over 3 years, they had to come back 4 times within the first 6 months to replace routers and boxes several times. Still had horrible picture, frozen screens and slow internet speed. They started with 39.95 for internet now at 69.95. Raise rates continuously because they have a monopoly in this area. I signed up and prepaid for the HS internet coming down our road. they gave me a date for the install . all went good except I had to run the Fiber line through the attic and down too the area where the router would go. Next. first bill comes. signed up for 59.99 each month. 74.$$ comes the bill. they say because it was not a full month(less than a month) they By Policy charge the adjusted rate. not less for less. more for less. this is frickin bull sh!t. for a whole month we charge less for the intro period. so get the jist. if 2000 people sign up for new internet, but sign up on an off day of the billing cycle. you will get billed something other that what was agreed. Thank goodness we now have an alternative for high speed internet in Rock Hill SC. Comporium raised my internet charge to $83 a month and promised 600 Mbps but when I run a speed test at my house I'm lucky to get over 70 Mbps. Their customer service is terrible and the actual service they provide is terrible. If you are looking for an internet provider do yourself a favor and get any other service rather than Comporium. T- Mobile is offering high speed internet at $50 per month and will also give you a $50 credit card to use if you decide to go with them. As soon as I get the T-Mobile device up and running I'm getting rid of Comporium for good. Got the T-Mobile 5G and got it hooked up. Did a speed test comparison and got 64 Mbps using the Comporium hard wired cable router and got 388 Mbps with the new T-Mobile wireless router. Calling Comporium now to close the account. We have been having difficulty and outage of our Internet and Wifi for about 8 weeks. We have had technicians come without a mask or shoe coverings. We have missed the end of many football games. The time spent trying to get it fixed is ridiculous. They changed things before their new modems and routers have come in. Not a smart high level decision. We live in Fort Mill SC and was "forced" to go Stream TV. Technicians are friendly when they came out to switch us from cable to streaming. Been NOTHING but headaches ever since the switch. To turn channels you have to down the key up or down... NO quick way or you just can't put in 106 to go from channel 344 (Fox News) to 106 (NBC). Second problem...the picture freezes. Third issue..You have to make sure no other TVs are on if you pay for 2 Stream TV and you're going into the 3rd room to watch TV. Fourth issue... They make you call Amazon if you have problems with the remote they give you. And on top of all this... My computers printers and cell phones can't communicate so I had to hire a Nerd to Go guy to come out to "fix" the problem. I had to pay money out to get Nerds to Go to fix my printing issues. My Nerd to Go guy had to call Comporium's tech support to get me up and running. My cell phone still can't locate the wifi to my printer. I will have to call Nerds to Go and pay them to fix that problem. The first Nerd to Go guy couldn't figure out why my cell cant find my Wi-Fi printer. So that's money I will have to pay out to fix all the messed up things moving to Stream TV costed me. read more
