During the 21 months I lived in SC, I had Comporium for tv and internet services. During this time, I had several issues with their internet service, each time they came out and added a new piece of equipment (extenders) and there was an additional cost added to the bill. In less than two years, I saw my bill go up $60 per month. When I would speak to their representative, I always got a different answer on why the increases had taken place (i.e, promotion ended, taxes had gone up, new equipment added etc.). When I left SC, I had a credit on my account of $103. Since then, I received the next month's bill showing the credit. When I asked about when I would see a check for the credited amount, I was told it had to go through another billing cycle to show a "zero" balance and a check would be mailed out within ten business days of the second bill cycle. It has now been two months past the last bill cycle, and again, when I speak to their representative, I get different answers as to when they either have sent the check or will send the check. If Comporium is your only choice, best advice is to negotiate your best deal up front and be sure to mark any promotions and when they will expire and test your internet speed regularly the first few months to be sure you are receiving a strong consistent signal. read more

Comporium Stream TV App I recently moved from Comporium's Moxie TV service to their Stream TV which they are pushing their customers to use. I did like the Moxie TV service which included DVR, however, they started removing features like Video on demand. Comporium Stream TV requirements: 1. You must have Comporium Internet. That starts at $55 per month, $660 per year 2. You will need to have a good WiFi setup in your home. Costs can vary. 3. You must have an Amazon Prime Account. $119 per year 4. Then Comporium will provide 1 or 2 Amazon Fire sticks. The first one is free, they charge $50 for the second one if they install it. Each additional Amazon Fire Stick is $50. 5. Each TV will need an Amazon Fire stick in order to Stream TV. The amount that Comporium charges for Streaming is almost the same as Moxie, so there is NO monetary advantage to switch. In fact, when you add up the additional requirements that all cost money, it can be significantly more if you don't already have Comporium Cable WiFi and an Amazon Prime account. In the 2 weeks that I have had Comporium's Stream TV, I missed the first half of Game 6 of the 2021 World Series. The game was being broadcast by Fox. I went to the guide that is part of the App and it did not show Game 6, it showed The Voice. When I selected the channel, I was able to start watching the game in process during the sixth inning. I was not given the option of "play from beginning" or the capability of backing up. If I tried to back up on the guide, it goes to "Replay", but it would only replay The Voice, not the show that was broadcast. So, I missed the first 5 innings. That stinks. With Moxie, you could record what was being broadcast on a channel. With Stream TV, if you record a channel, you will get the show that is listed on the guide, which may not be what was broadcast. I do not know where the disconnect is between the show that is broadcast, and the show listed on the guide but it needs to be corrected immediately for all events, Sporting or otherwise. Additional App issues: The Guide that was provided with Moxie, provided a lot more information about the shows that are broadcast. It would say if the show is New or a Repeat. It had a lot more cast members listed, not just show regulars Sporting events can be a few minutes late. Received updates on my phone before they are shown. Fast forwarding or rewinding always results in at least a full minute of blurry playback. When watching a recording of a game, the app will randomly flash the current screen when you try and fast forward through commercials. I wish I had not switched. I've been a Comporium customer since 2015 because unfortunately no other service is offered where j live but they suck. Terrible service, terrible customer service and just recently they decided to go up on my monthly bill $5 due to "upgrades" and didn't notify me, just snuck it in there. And when I complained and stated that was not the price I agreed too, the customer service rep said "well, unfortunately it doesn't matter they've already done the upgrades so that's your new monthly price". Horrible, horrible internet connection but unfortunately it's our only option where we are. We have the highest level router and have even tried multiple routers and extenders. All of their "speed tests" and equipment says our internet works fine, but our internet just does not consistently work. Every device in our house comes up with the "no internet from this network" message at least 5 times per day and when connection does come in, it is EXTREMELY slow and bounces around from extender to extender within our network. Work from home during the pandemic has been a huge problem as their "strongest level" network can't even support a 3 person Zoom call for more than 15 minutes. Technicians say nothing is wrong when they come out because all of their testing and equipment says it is, but point blank our internet does not work for what we are paying for and nothing will be done to fix it. read more

When I initially subscribed to cable internet in 2017, the service was reliable. In the last few months that's changed. My connection drops out at least 2 or 3 times a month now for 30, 60, 90 minutes or more. Tech support, who at least strive to be helpful, continually suggest there's a problem in "my area" . So why can't the problem(s) be located and fixed? Once or twice I can live with. A continuous pattern of service interruption is unacceptable. Speaking of which, Comporium now has a pattern of turning internet service OFF altogether in the middle of the night. Why, I have no idea but they do. Comporium is nothing but a greedy monopoly. I just ordered internet service from them and was told by the rep that it was $69 per month. I think that's a lot, but I don't have a choice. The rep was rushing me to sign the contract for service, and when I read it, it said that the $69 was only a promotional rate for 3 months. He never mentioned that on the phone. Horrible! Worst service ever! Constantly jamming up on a show without anyone using the internet. Super expensive for mid grade internet. Constantly getting bills that are stacked after no bill. If I could give them 0 stars I would. We have the middle internet and it can barely handle 2 phones and Netflix. Their cable is RIDICULOUSLY expensive and not great. The internet randomly goes out and the customer service is HORRIBLE. they reschedule appointments without calling you, they don't tell you about charges when changing the account, and they usually take about an hr just to talk to someone. Worst internet service provider that I've had to have for over 15 years because there are no other choices. I live in rural York County and I pay over $100 for phone and highest package of DSL! DSL is a joke, can't even get the 11 mbps I pay for, but my aunt 10 minutes away gets 400 mbps from them. They've promised fiber for at least 3 years and I still have to hold my breath for 7 mbps! I was hired for an awesome job and had to turn it down because they wanted 25 mbps! We need more options and Comporium would lose half their customers! Awful provider. I was promised gig speeds. Technicians could not figure out why I was only getting 28 mb's finally swapped out modems and maxed out at about 270 mb's. I called to have plan moved down to 300x300 since they cannot fix issue. They have throttled my connection down to 150 now. read more

Just horrible in every way. Customer service is painful. They keep you on hold for an hour and then they connect you to someone who is either not trained, uneducated, or only knows how to say "let me get my supervisor". The field technicians are actually pretty good but even they have to call into the exact customer service reps the customer uses. They have limited supplies on their vehicles so they have to wait on the parts truck to come by. Overpriced, under deliver, and even though you pay for high speed they turn down your speed based on usage and how many others are on line. They have monopolies in every town they are in (most likely corrupt government officials) and simply do not care. Here in Indian Land SC we have no other choice for internet/cable/phone but Comporium. They have exclusive rights to the lines here maybe that's why their service is subpar. I was told my bill would be $144.99 +++ taxs and fees per month. My first bill was $477.63 (e gads) of course I called and was told I wasn't signed up for any bundle the CSR was very surprised and assured me that once I paid my bill the next one would have a credit. I paid and I wasn't expecting to have to pay the next month figuring my credit would be at least $300. Oh no my next bill was $477.63.. UGGGG had to call again. Comporium was alright when we first started, but now I'm just plain fed up with their service. They increase prices when the services they provide aren't all that. The only thing I can give them credit for is they have always been easily accessible when a box for the TV goes out. Their internet since Covid has been complete trash. I feel like my wifi is always out and it's not just me its the entire neighborhood Facebook page complaining that their internet is out. The worst part is this happens basically everyday out of nowhere it decides to cut off the internet. The comporium truck supposedly according to people in my neighborhood has been coming often and still nothing has changed with the crappy wifi. This morning I woke up as I typically due ready for work; however, I'm on vacation this week but can't get back to sleep. The older I get the worse it gets. So, I turn the TV on to watch a show before heading out to watch the Kentucky vs. VA Tech football game. Not to no surprise the internet provided by Comporium at my home is out "yet" again! Every week sometimes 3 times a day our internet shows connected but says "no internet". We at one time were paying for the moxi system and did away with it due to the way over priced cost of service and internet connection issues and decided to down grade to just internet and subscribed to YouTube Live! Best choice we ever made as it has truly been the best service for the money and I would highly recommend it to anyone! In order to due that you still need internet and being Comporium is the only provider at the moment your pretty much stuck with their "very unreliable services" and the sad thing is "they don't care about the customers"!!! Don't call them and tell them your service is having issues as they only want to charge you a service call and come to your house to say there isn't anything wrong but they tell on the phone they see the problem with the internet dropping off and on but they won't tell you it's them and their problem so they can charge you for it. I will be so happy to see the day come when Spectrum or Time Warner come to Rock Hill as I will be waiting in line to sign up!!!! Comporium has awful service and outdated equipment. The cable bill has went up over $60 in two years. I cancelled and was told that a service tech would pick up the equipment. I called back the day of service to find out that I would need to drop off the equipment instead. What an unorganized company. From one employee to the next you get different answers. Try Sling Tv as an alternative. Comporium insists on requiring a customer's social security number to set up an account. When I protested such a policy, they said they would assess a $70 fee if I do not conform. I am not comfortable with this, and made that clear. They treated me disrespectfully and spoke over me. Issue left unresolved at this point. I will not use comporium with such a policy. Update: someone reasonable called back and explained the ssn is to check credit. You are welcome to opt out, but will be charged $70 which will be refunded after one year of no late payments. That's fair enough. The first and second agents should listen to their customers concerns and explain this. Neither of the first two agents took time to explain this. One of which was a supervisor. Comporium's internet is probably the worst internet there is. They say that their interntet is "high speed," but it is not even close to that. The Wi-Fi is super inconsistant, and is somewhat stable for a little while, then either stops working entirely or is so slow that it might as well not work. I normally average 6-8 mbps download and less than 1-2 mbps upload. That is with the best internet package they have to offer. If you can find litterally any other internet provider than Comporium, choose the other provider. read more

Went into the Lancaster location and the line was long and one of the employees was having casual conversation with a customer instead of helping the other customer.
