I've been a customer of Compton's Shoe Repair for at least 5 years, bringing shoes that were either too tight, falling apart, etc. and there has yet to be an issue that they cannot fix. My most recent example is with a pair of yellow leather vintage Italian heels that I destroyed at a wedding. The leather from the heels had peeled upward from the coarse gravel I had been walking on all night. I was sure they were finished. For anyone who needs a good leather repair, this is the place! I brought in my horse riding boots who needed new soles and a patch, everything looks spectacular, from the leather to the stitching! Great quality! I also brought him my dressage saddle after a horse ripped some of the leather and stitching, and he was able to patch it up and it's as solid as new! Highly recommend! read more

OUTSTANDING! THANK YOU ARTHUR AND COMPTON'S SHOE REPAIR. Here's the scoop: I needed the handles on my bag repaired. It is an expensive Valentino bag. I took it to 3 repair places, 1 cleaners (who said they repair high end purses), and to a Valentino shop in Beverly Hills. Not one would fix it or refer me to someone who could get this done. I finally found a shop who agreed to fix the handles so I left it there for repair. When I picked the repaired bag up, I was so upset. It was terrible. Couldn't even use the bag anymore. My Husband, who was determined to get this bag repaired for me, found Compton's, spoke with Arthur there about the problem, and left the bag. I got a call to come see the material they were going to use for the handles. (That was already ahead of the game!) Much to my surprise, and appreciation, the fabric was a perfect match. Arthur walked me through what they were going to do and I agreed to move forward. He took off the horrible leather previously put on at the other shoe repair shop and fixed the handles. The handles match the bag perfectly. Even the seems match. He shined it up and gave my bag new life. I use it now and it looks awesome. I am still so pleasantly surprised Arthur was able to make my bag look so good. Cannot thank him enough. Writing this review (which I rarely do) is a small way of saying thank you. I went to three different shoe repair shops to get my UGG boots stretched in the toe before I found Compton. The other places either wanted more money than I paid for the boots, or they were going to tear the suede, or they simply couldn't do it. The owner at Compton charged me six bucks, did a great job, didn't ruin the boots, and gave me some great information on products to help me keep the boots nice and waterproof. Highly recommend. I don't think Compton works here anymore, but I've been happy with the results. 1) I had a broken zipper fixed on a suitcase. 2) I brought in a pair of ballet flats that were giving me blisters at the back of my ankles, and the owner pounded the leather so that they no longer hurt. 3) I also brought in a vinyl bag and had the handle reinforced. Depending on how complicated the job is, it takes a few days, but they are really reasonable. They also make keys and sell luggage. read more

This is the greatest shoe repair place. I've been going here for several years. I have two identical pairs of dress shoes that I wear for work and when the soles and heels wear out I bring them here to get repaired. I have done this at least three times for each of these pairs The quality of the work is exceptional. The shoes come out like new. The service is prompt. I always take my shoes here when the leather soles wear. They do a great job for a reasonable price. On a couple of occasions they have even fixed other imperfections on the shoes for no extra charge when all I asked for was a new sole. The shoes looked brand new!
