My experience with Ahnex Computer on October 18, 2014, was nothing short of a nightmare. What started as a simple request to reinstall Microsoft Office to fix an Excel issue turned into a day-long ordeal that left me questioning their competence, ethics, and customer service. Key issues: Misleading Information: They insisted on installing Office 2007, claiming it was the most stable and that newer versions required constant paid updates. This was completely false. Faulty Installation: Not only did they fail to fix the original Excel issue, but they also created a new problem with my dual-screen setup. New Dual-Screen Problem: After their installation, I couldn't move Excel windows between screens in full-screen mode without resizing - a major hindrance to my workflow. Inability to Fix: When confronted, they admitted they couldn't solve the problem they created. Refusal to Refund: Despite their failures, they initially refused to provide a refund. Unethical Refund Conditions: When I demanded a refund, they insisted on uninstalling the software first. I expressed concern about potential data loss and suggested I could provide proof of reinstallation elsewhere, but they refused to budge. Attempted Forced Uninstallation: In a shocking turn of events, they tried to forcibly take my computer to uninstall the software. It nearly came to a physical altercation as I had to struggle to keep my own property. This behavior is completely unacceptable and borderline criminal. Time Wasted: They claimed the uninstallation would take an hour, further wasting my time. I couldn't trust them with my computer for an hour given their previous incompetence and unethical behavior. Work Day Lost: Between dealing with Ahnex Computer and then having to find another company to properly install the software, I lost an entire afternoon of work. The time spent traveling between stores, waiting for installations, and dealing with this nightmare situation resulted in significant lost productivity. Stress and Frustration: The entire experience was incredibly stressful. From dealing with their incompetence to having to physically protect my property, it was a thoroughly unpleasant and anxiety-inducing situation. This experience was truly a nightmare. Ahnex Computer demonstrated not only a lack of technical competence but also a shocking disregard for customer service and ethical business practices. Their attempt to forcibly take my computer crosses a line that no reputable business should ever approach. I cannot stress strongly enough how much I advise against using Ahnex Computer's services. They are dishonest, incompetent, and when confronted with their failures, they resort to aggressive and unacceptable behavior. This company is, in my experience, nothing short of a group of scam artists masquerading as a computer service. I will never use their services again, and I urge everyone to avoid them at all costs. There are plenty of competent, honest computer service providers out there - Ahnex Computer is definitively not one of them. Computer Anhex is a secret gem in the heart of Los Angeles! From the friendly and professional reception I received on the phone from the owner, Mr. Ahn, to the repair itself, his repair store offers exceptional customer service. Its reminiscent of the friendly neighborhood service you just don't see any more. If it's possible to repair your computer, Mr. Ahn can do it! My 2011 MacBook Pro's GPU (graphics board) died. Luckily for me, Mr. Ahn has experience with "reflowing", where the circuit board is heated to renew any questionable solder joints. To be cautious, Mr Ahn heated my board just below the max temperature it could withstand. When that failed, Mr. Ahn, decided to reflow it again at max temperature. And BOOM, the GPU returned to full operation! His determination to exhaust all solutions in repairs is beyond belief. The charge for his reflow was $120, a truly modest fee for the length of time reflows take (10 hours). If the repair service had ended in failure, he was only going to charge $70. Mr. Ahn's goal is to please his clients and service their needs. I highly recommend Computer Ahnex for any computer repair (Mac and PC). read more

Robert and Brian were absolutely fantastic. They helped me out big time by expertly removing the DC power jack from my Asus laptop. Their attention to detail really stood out: they carefully prepped the motherboard to protect nearby components and handled some stubborn, high-temp solder like true pros. Thanks to their skill, they got the jack out cleanly with no damage at all. Without their help, I'd be without my favorite laptop. The pricing was fair, the turnaround time was totally reasonable, and the shop itself was clean and welcoming. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, and clearly focused on delivering great service. We need more repair shops like this where customer care and quality workmanship come first. read more

The workers there are nice and experienced. The owner is a true P.O.S. The guy originally quotes me $70 system re-install which is already overpriced. He then invoices me $90. After when I confronted him, he reduces the fee to $80. Then with the remaining 5 computers I left him, the guy quotes me $190 for the first for a motherboard replacement (that I diagnosed) and labor. $130 for the motherboard and $60 for labor is reasonable. I send my employee to pick it up and the guy charges him $279 w/o even notifying us. Then he tries to charge me about the same for 4 more computers he hasn't even looked at yet. Computer Annex is fantastic! We had an amazing experience working with them, and Ty was especially helpful and informative. We brought in our super old iMac that we thought was completely dead, and we assumed all the information on it was lost. Ty took the time to carefully extract as much as possible and managed to recover almost all of it -- which honestly felt like a miracle. On top of that, he upgraded the computer with a new drive, and now it's running better than ever. I can't recommend Computer Annex highly enough. Best computer repair store in Los Angeles. Unlike other places in Los Angeles all the technicians are computer science majors. Computer Ahnex has been open in Koreatown for past 31 years. I am pretty confident this is one of the oldest computer repair store in California. They repair PC's and macbooks. I had my gaming computer assembled here. They're located in Koreatown, plenty of parking here. They must be doing something right to stay in business for past 31 years. read more

I broke my screen on a fall yesterday, and Computer Ahnex replaced it within 30 minutes with a temporary screen. Not only that, but we also ordered a FullHD screen to be put in later on the week.
