I finally made it YAAY Parking is street parking only and metered but I was lucky enough to find a parking that the City of Hayward offers free for 30 minutes I walked in and I was greeted immediately Decor is very nice Customer service is excellent!! Order: 1 Small Horchata Matcha 1 Avocado Toast I've been here several times now, and I really enjoy this coffee shop. The horchata matcha was amazing! It had the perfect balance of flavor and wasn't overly sweet. It's definitely one of my favorite drinks here. The avocado toast was just okay for me. I wasn't a fan of the bread it was a bit too thick for my liking. The avocado also tasted more like the pre-packaged kind from a container rather than freshly mashed avocado. The service was exceptional. Kathy and Juana were working around 7:00 a.m., and they were both incredibly welcoming, friendly, and kind. I had an issue with my online order, and they handled it with such patience and professionalism. Their customer service made the experience even better. The ambiance is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. I love the colors and décor throughout the coffee shop. The green couches really make the space pop, and the Frida Kahlo mural is absolutely stunning. The hours are also a huge plus, especially for early birds like me. Around 7:00 a.m. it's nice and quiet, there's no rush, and there's plenty of available parking. Came here as a recommendation and I'm glad I checked it out! I was waiting for someone and as I looked at the menu, the cashier asked if I wanted to try the horchata. They make it there, in house which is great! I loved the flavor! I ended up getting a matcha horchata and loved it! I will say it was sweet which horchata is, so if you're sensitive to sweetness, you may not want to get that one. It's been a soft opening so far so they are still working on their craft! Seen this long line at this location and wondered what is this cafe all about. I looked it up and oh man! It is super popular! Decided to stop by and give it a try with my bby we both got iced horchata latte. It was ok nothing too crazy. The cashier was super nice and friendly super informative. I'm so glad Con Azúcar opened in Downtown Hayward! I absolutely love the drinks, conchas, and especially the avocado toast--the avocado toast is SO delicious! I came back to try Con Azucar Cafe to try their food and I was very surprised! We ordered with the friendly cashier and they immediately made our drinks for us. It took around ~10 minutes to get our avocado toast and it was delicious! It a lil like guac but more creamy topped with avocado slices. It was so delicious I enjoyed every bite. The inside was not too busy this morning but it seems like this is a chill spot to come and hang out with friends or just get a good drink! I'd definitely come back! I got the iced horchata coffee and the pretzel croissant breakfast sandwich, and both were hella good. The horchata coffee was especially good and just really hit the spot. This place is beautiful and bright. As soon as you walk in, you see the heart and soul of the place. The best parts of Mexican culture on display. I'm so glad this location finally opened! I used to live in Redwood city & would go to that location. Ambience This Hayward one is a lot more modern aesthetic. They have lots of terracota colored accents, even their cup lids (good quality cups). Very hacienda vibes. There are some photo ops. The famous Frida Kahlo painting, the swing, & beautiful mural of Hayward. Food So far all the drinks I've had are good. Mazapán latte is my go to! But I've also tried the horchata latte (more on the thicker side), mangonada smoothie, & my sister lives their dulce de leche. Drinks Food I love their torta de jamón. Their club sandwich & breakfast sandwich, & boyfriend loves their grilled cheese (uses 3 cheeses ) Service So far everyone I've encountered is really friendly. The owners are really sweet. They even remembered me. P.S. I do see there are some negative reviews but you have to keep in mind this is their soft opening so there will be some hiccups while they are figuring things out. If you're not happy just let someone know & im sure they will remake your order. Give them some grace. This was my second time coming here, and I definitely had to come back! I honestly don't know why some people say the staff is rude. That has not been my experience at all. The place is beautiful, the customer service is kind and respectful, and they even recommend drinks they personally enjoy. As soon as you walk in, they welcome you. All the drinks look amazing. The first time I came, I brought my friends, boyfriend, and sibling, and we all enjoyed our drinks. I ordered the Pepino con Limón, and it was super delicious--I definitely recommend it. This time, I got the Gansito Frappe, and it was so good! Juan and Kate were both super friendly and nice. They recommended drinks, and they even let us try a few samples. The horchata drink was EXTREMELY delicious--seriously, 10/10! Everything was very clean, and the atmosphere definitely gives Hispanic vibes that bring back lovely memories. Idk what is up with all the negative reviews on here so far. This place has been open for a few weeks now so it's very new, so I would understand the shop trying to get all the little things down. I went in on a Thursday afternoon and it was not very busy. I waited in line for about 5 minutes. I went up to the register and the worker greeted me and asked what I was getting. I asked if they had more conchas as there wasn't any on the glass display. The worker pulled out a whole fresh batch of conchas from the cart behind her and I was able to pick the ones I wanted. As for the drink, I got the mazapán iced coffee. I consider myself a coffee lover and I loved the coffee to milk and sweetness ratio. The drink had mazapán pieces in it which was a really nice touch! Finally, a Hayward coffee shop I want to chill at!!! The cafe de olla, croissant sandwich and cookies are delicious. The cafe made me utter the f-word under my breath. The croissant was reminiscent of my recent trip to Paris, except that Parisians would never make a croissant into a sandwich (I tried, lol!). The mini cookies are a perfect size to indulge and dip. I made this combination my personal Saturday brunch. Thank you for coming to town with friendly service and a relaxed vibe. I would give this spot a 1.5, but I guess yelp is rounding up. The coffee - poorly executed. Roast their own robusta beans, probably just on an automatic dark roast setting, and the espresso + regular coffee is not good. I asked for an americano, and i watched the cashier pour me a cup of drip instead and hand it to me lol. Taste was bland and awful, I could pull better coffee with my eyes closed. My friend got a vanilla latte, and same thing. Shop uses torani/monin syrups which is disappointing, but with their giant menu I guess it kind of makes sense - however using bad syrups and not being able to pull good shots make the drinks taste horrible. Matcha was also light and watered down - probably using a cheap culinary matcha to cut costs. Overall drinks were a 1/5. Staff - not well trained. Saw lots of complaints online, when I went in the guy was pretty nice - then he answered the store phone mid order. Like, what? why is your landline at the register? It should be tucked away in the back somewhere for a manager to answer. I spent like 4 minutes standing there while he took the call and left to go find someone and came back. Also, while waiting for drinks I needed a carrier - had to wait like 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. It wasn't even that busy honestly - staff is trained very poorly. Mini conchas were good at least. I'll give them points for the space, its very cute and aesthetic and they have their little swing for instagram pics - it's cute, but when the actual product sucks it makes it feel performative. Lots of Mexican cultural things inside, but the drinks suck so who cares. All in all, very poor. Would rather head to another shop nearby that gives more care to their drinks and customer service. Theres a new boba shop popping up two doors down, so they'll likely lose a lot of matcha customers to that shop when it opens. read more

Drinks were decent. Costumer service was terrible, employees were unprofessional and rude. Not a welcoming environment, most employees were younger and had apparent bad attitudes. The cashier that attended us was very dry and seemed bothered to be taking our order, was not friendly. While we were having our coffee we witnessed an employee literally throw a receipt on the table at a costumer whose order they forgot/messed up. What the heck is the hype for this place?? It takes them an hour to make the drinks, the lady taking the orders couldn't answer any of my questions, and they use torani syrup. Customer service was not great at all. The cashier completely ignored that I was standing at the counter waiting to order, and she instead asked someone who wasn't even waiting at the counter if they were ready to order. When I asked her if I was at the wrong register she just looked at me kind of confused. It was an awkward and uncomfortable experience. She didn't look happy to be there at all. I was really rooting for this cafe but I was so disappointed by the lack of professionalism or care. She didn't seem to know how the drinks are made either. My mom usually gets almond milk instead of actual milk in her drinks and though it was a horchata matcha we weren't sure how they make it, I asked the cashier if they could put almond milk (Assuming they use regular milk) and she said "mhm". Someone had to come out and inform me AFTER paying that the horchata is pre-made and that the cashier shouldn't have said they could do almond milk. Drinks were okay but not really worth the price. I bought a small cookie and the cashier never gave it to me even though I saw her giving people their pastries at the counter where the pastry box is. I asked multiple times if I could please get my cookie and I waited for a long time, just ended up leaving. Hopefully some big changes are made here. read more
