Came here as a recommendation and I'm glad I checked it out! I was waiting for someone and as I looked at the menu, the cashier asked if I wanted to try the horchata. They make it there, in house which is great! I loved the flavor! I ended up getting a matcha horchata and loved it! I will say it was sweet which horchata is, so if you're sensitive to sweetness, you may not want to get that one. It was overall a pleasant experience and I'd definitely go back if in the area!

Con Azucar Cafe opened recently in Copymat's vacated space, refurbishing the empty space with many artisan murals, a coffee/eats station and inside seating only. Soft Mexican music in background. Service was quick & courteous, even with a small line. Ordered in front, pd, got goodies in back in 5ish minutes. Offerings: panaderia, croissants, tortas, sandwiches, smoothies, specialty lattes, matcha, frappes, refreshers, coffee, energy floats. -fusion type drinks, bites Sips: matcha latte (m. 6.75) has some ice, not stated. Slight initial bitterness. Later smooth, bland. Nothing special. Bites: cheese & kale croissant (4.5) -mini flattened croissant version, buttery & cheesy. Crumbled kale flavorless. Pedestrian+ 3.5 stars Service: great. Quality: passable Quantity: subpar. *Frida Kahlo artwork on walls. CAC is a franchised chain originating in San Jose. -looking at various pics, this location is smaller than others. Panaderias in particular has fewer on display. **doubtful repeat. Limited seating. City Parking lot nearby. Street parking iffy. Great concept. Service execution and offerings needs tweaking.

It's been a soft opening so far so they are still working on their craft! Seen this long line at this location and wondered what is this cafe all about. I looked it up and oh man! It is super popular! Decided to stop by and give it a try with my bby we both got iced horchata latte. It was ok nothing too crazy. The cashier was super nice and friendly super informative. The whole atmosphere is to die for I absolutely loved it! With the beautiful Frida painting, the swing to take pictures on, and the beautiful artwork on the walls! I absolutely love this lil cafe! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it! Love this little cafe definitely a perfect stop and go!

I'm so glad Con Azúcar opened in Downtown Hayward! I absolutely love the drinks, conchas, and especially the avocado toast--the avocado toast is SO delicious! The iced Spanish latte is currently my favorite drink, but I still have so many other drinks I want to try. Every time I stop by, the staff has been super friendly, welcoming, and amazing! And it's dog-friendly. I was able to bring my doggo in with me, which makes me love this place even more.

I came back to try Con Azucar Cafe to try their food and I was very surprised! We ordered with the friendly cashier and they immediately made our drinks for us. It took around ~10 minutes to get our avocado toast and it was delicious! It a lil like guac but more creamy topped with avocado slices. It was so delicious I enjoyed every bite. The inside was not too busy this morning but it seems like this is a chill spot to come and hang out with friends or just get a good drink! Definitely recommend the horchata matcha or mazapan matcha!!!

I'm so glad this location finally opened! I used to live in Redwood city & would go to that location. Ambience This Hayward one is a lot more modern aesthetic. They have lots of terracota colored accents, even their cup lids (good quality cups). Very hacienda vibes. There are some photo ops. The famous Frida Kahlo painting, the swing, & beautiful mural of Hayward. Food So far all the drinks I've had are good. Mazapán latte is my go to! But I've also tried the horchata latte (more on the thicker side), mangonada smoothie, & my sister lives their dulce de leche. Drinks Food I love their torta de jamón. Their club sandwich & breakfast sandwich, & boyfriend loves their grilled cheese (uses 3 cheeses ) Service So far everyone I've encountered is really friendly. The owners are really sweet. They even remembered me. P.S. I do see there are some negative reviews but you have to keep in mind this is their soft opening so there will be some hiccups while they are figuring things out. If you're not happy just let someone know & im sure they will remake your order. Give them some grace. Overall, it's a great experience so far & I've brought many friends & family to try & they also loved it !

Excellent customer service! The man helping me was super sweet and was knowledgeable about the menu. Seeing as how this is their first couple weeks in business, I was very impressed. I got the horchata latte, which was SUPER YUMMY, and the breakfast sandwich. Also delicious. Service was fast and friendly! The shop is gorgeous. Absolutely stunning shop. Modern and trendy. Love it. I'll definitely be back. I also had a chat with the owner, who was very sweet! Nice guy. Please be kind. They just opened... so they deserve a grace period to train the staff fully and get their flow! Be patient. This place is great!

    Beautiful location!

Started off with the Cafe de Olla. Brought me back to childhood. Then one of the team members offered us a sample of the Horchata, that's made in house, and it changed my life forever! The Mazapan Latte and torta de Jamon were delicious. I will definitely be returning to this establishment. Thanks to my daughter who lives nearby for sharing this experience! Thanks Buddy!

This was my second time coming here, and I definitely had to come back! I honestly don't know why some people say the staff is rude. That has not been my experience at all. The place is beautiful, the customer service is kind and respectful, and they even recommend drinks they personally enjoy. As soon as you walk in, they welcome you. All the drinks look amazing. The first time I came, I brought my friends, boyfriend, and sibling, and we all enjoyed our drinks. I ordered the Pepino con Limón, and it was super delicious--I definitely recommend it. This time, I got the Gansito Frappe, and it was so good! Juan and Kate were both super friendly and nice. They recommended drinks, and they even let us try a few samples. The horchata drink was EXTREMELY delicious--seriously, 10/10! Everything was very clean, and the atmosphere definitely gives Hispanic vibes that bring back lovely memories. I highly recommend this place. The drinks do take a little while to make--Starbucks is faster--but that's okay because they're made fresh and taste amazing. Both the Gansito Frappe and the Horchata drink were a solid 10/10. I'll definitely be back!

Iced Dulce de Leche latte and Hot Dulce de Leche latte
    Estefania R.

Ordered an iced dulce de leche latte and a hot dulce de leche latte which were both delicious! A little sad they weren't able to do any designs on the cold foam like at other Con Azucar locations. There was a good amount of seating and decor was cute only downside is parking can be a bit hard to find.

Nice local cafe with lots of amazing drink options. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have sandwiches, Mexican pastries and offer lattes, refreshes and frappes. Cool decor and a place where you take picture on a swing! Feels very inviting. I tried the concha, which was very good and tasted hints of cinnamon with each bite. The mazapan latte was very tasty and had a wonderful nutty flavor that really took it to the next level. Will definitely be returning.

Ordered 2 large chai lattes w/ almond milk and shots of espresso! This place is absolute fuego! Def coming back here when ever I'm in town to dig for records at Stacks Records. Thank you Con Azugar! Well Done!

If you're thinking about giving a food birthday gift or if you know someone who just needs a food…read morepick-me-up, get a box of pastries for them here! Not only are the pastries some of the prettiest that I've seen but they're actually quite tasty (and not too sweet either)! Comes in a nice branded box too. Before I rattle off my reviews of the pastries that I tried I'll say that the pastries here, although laminated, have no crisp and are strictly the soft and chewy type (think Costco croissants). I prefer some crisp, but I wouldn't hesitate on returning here to try more things. - French tart: amaaazing egg custard filling. It's so milky it's almost flan-like! - Brownie fruit tart: omg prob one of my fave brownie textures; not fudgy-dry and not too-cake-like either. Nailed the custard filling as well. I'd say my fave pastry in the bunch. - Passion fruit ganache danish: deliciously tart passion fruit filling! - Sweet cheese bowtie: funny enough the sweet cheese reminds me a lot of Cheez Whiz haha (nostalgic for me) but silkier and lighter in taste. The sweet cheese is only in the center of the bowtie. - Ham & cheese: flavorful ham but could've had a little bit more of it. The cheese part tastes similar to the cheese filling in the sweet cheese bowtie. - Ube moon: mad props for ube jam actually being used here instead of just ube extract like at most bakeries that offer ube treats. I will say though that the ube filling is a bit too dense; maybe the ube jam could've been mixed with some custard to make the filling lighter. Only a couple of customers in line when I visited on a Sunday early afternoon and the display case was still more-than-half full. Okay-ish service; the lady at the cashier was primarily focused on quickly completing orders.

Though the bakery is pretty small, it was perfectly cozy with plenty outdoor seating available. There are a couple tables outside, and a bar-style seating area outside. Plus, a lot of parking spaces are available! The pastries are displayed beautifully under the warm lights of the shelf. Totally cute! Most importantly.. Instagram worthy! I got two original croissants, an orange creme brulee, and a strawberry crescent croissant. The original croissants were perfectly crunchy, and not too airy that there isn't anything inside the shell. Pretty dense in you ask me, and I love it that way! The orange creme brulee was really pretty. Caught my eye in the crowd! Though I thought that the croissant-style bread on the outside of the pastry was not crispy enough, the creme brulee definitely had a rich orange-y aroma. The strawberry crescent was my absolute favorite. I love how the hard, dense outside contrasted with the creamy center. The strawberry cream in the center isn't too sweet in my opinion! The shape wasn't just creative, it was also so fun to eat! You'll be seeing me again!

This place stood out because it had a lot of reviews and was close to my house. The cafe itself is small, a bit stuffy inside. There is ample parking on the side which was a plus. There were only three customers inside when I arrived. When I walked in, the first thing I was asked was, "What does your dog need" rather than a hello or good morning. I explained that my dog and I were there to order coffee, and I was told the menu was outside and that she would help me at the door. It wasn't necessarily rude, just an unusual interaction. A sign explaining the dog policy might help avoid this awkward situation/confusion in the future. Unfortunately, the coffee was the biggest disappointment. After waiting about 15 minutes, my latte tasted watered down and lacked flavor. The best way I can describe it is that it tasted like warm cardboard. I don't mind waiting for a quality drink, but this one missed the mark. I ended up going home and adding more coffee and milk to make it drinkable. I genuinely wanted to like this place and was excited to try it, but the coffee was a letdown. If you're stopping by before work, be aware that the wait may be longer than expected.

Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. It's sour and acidic but still sweet; I do wish in hindsight I'd asked for the lime to be removed, which is part of the drink customization settings, because the lime really overpowered it and it's harder to make out the pineapple. It had a rigid cup though, seems to be decent enough quality to reuse the cup. Overall, the drink was decent, but I took off a star because of how pricey it was.
