I came back to try Con Azucar Cafe to try their food and I was very surprised! We ordered with the friendly cashier and they immediately made our drinks for us. It took around ~10 minutes to get our avocado toast and it was delicious! It a lil like guac but more creamy topped with avocado slices. It was so delicious I enjoyed every bite. The inside was not too busy this morning but it seems like this is a chill spot to come and hang out with friends or just get a good drink! Definitely recommend the horchata matcha or mazapan matcha!!!

Nice local cafe with lots of amazing drink options. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have sandwiches, Mexican pastries and offer lattes, refreshes and frappes. Cool decor and a place where you take picture on a swing! Feels very inviting. I tried the concha, which was very good and tasted hints of cinnamon with each bite. The mazapan latte was very tasty and had a wonderful nutty flavor that really took it to the next level. Will definitely be returning.

I'm so glad this location finally opened! I used to live in Redwood city & would go to that location. Ambience This Hayward one is a lot more modern aesthetic. They have lots of terracota colored accents, even their cup lids (good quality cups). Very hacienda vibes. There are some photo ops. The famous Frida Kahlo painting, the swing, & beautiful mural of Hayward. Food So far all the drinks I've had are good. Mazapán latte is my go to! But I've also tried the horchata latte (more on the thicker side), mangonada smoothie, & my sister lives their dulce de leche. Drinks Food I love their torta de jamón. Their club sandwich & breakfast sandwich, & boyfriend loves their grilled cheese (uses 3 cheeses ) Service So far everyone I've encountered is really friendly. The owners are really sweet. They even remembered me. P.S. I do see there are some negative reviews but you have to keep in mind this is their soft opening so there will be some hiccups while they are figuring things out. If you're not happy just let someone know & im sure they will remake your order. Give them some grace. Overall, it's a great experience so far & I've brought many friends & family to try & they also loved it !

Coffee, Service and ambiance was great, food was alright ordered ham and cheese breakfast sandwich thinking it would be on a croissant or something but it was on white bread (like a school lunch) concha was okay I had better but will be back again to try other items from menu. Excellent customer service! The man helping me was super sweet and was knowledgeable about the menu. Seeing as how this is their first couple weeks in business, I was very impressed. I got the horchata latte, which was SUPER YUMMY, and the breakfast sandwich. Also delicious. Service was fast and friendly! The shop is gorgeous. Absolutely stunning shop. Modern and trendy. Love it. I'll definitely be back. I also had a chat with the owner, who was very sweet! Nice guy. Please be kind. They just opened... so they deserve a grace period to train the staff fully and get their flow! Be patient. This place is great!

Just had a Pina Colada refresher on a hot day. Just what I needed to hit the spot. Hit up Con Azucar for some refreshing drinks!

Ham & Cheese Sandwich + large iced Dulce de Leche Latte with vanilla cold foam

The place is really cute, the furniture is comfy and goes well with the decor. There's plenty of seating and space, even a fun spot to take photos. The cashier was really attentive with the customer in front of me which gave me time to look at the menu (I'm really indecisive so it helped me decide what to get lol) I ordered a dulce de leche latte with vanilla cold foam - the coffee taste was stronger than the flavoring but it was still pretty good. I also got the ham and cheese sandwich - they have three cheese options (pepper jack, cheddar, but I got swiss) and it was so yummy. The drink came out first and there's a little station at the pick up counter with sugar/sweeteners/sauces so you can really fix up whatever you order to your taste.

Ordered 2 large chai lattes w/ almond milk and shots of espresso! This place is absolute fuego! Def coming back here when ever I'm in town to dig for records at Stacks Records. Thank you Con Azugar! Well Done!

Delicious coffee and a beautiful atmosphere! I ordered the horchata latte, and it was excellent--flavorful, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and a great place to relax. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try some of the pastries and explore more of the menu. Definitely worth a visit!

Service was a complete 180 this time around. Warmly welcomed in. Asked if I had any questions about the menu or needed suggestions. Ended up getting the Mazapan latte which had pieces of Mazapan inside, yum! Also grabbed a concha which was so delicious and soft! Almost like they made them fresh that day. Definitely will be coming back for more.

I really wanted to like this place since I am from Hayward and it's good to see new places especially in DT; however, I was disappointed. Decor: pretty nice place with a swing as their photo-op. Customer service: while it wasn't super terrible but the girl had 0 personality. Ordered a medium and she said, "ok" and then she asked "what size?" Her whole demeanor was flat. Drinks: I'm a big matcha drinker Ordered a matcha horchata and matcha banana. It was so watered down which I can honestly compare it to Gold Bean in San Leandro. Would I go back? Not sure? Maybe I'll try it again.

Idk what is up with all the negative reviews on here so far. This place has been open for a few weeks now so it's very new, so I would understand the shop trying to get all the little things down. I went in on a Thursday afternoon and it was not very busy. I waited in line for about 5 minutes. I went up to the register and the worker greeted me and asked what I was getting. I asked if they had more conchas as there wasn't any on the glass display. The worker pulled out a whole fresh batch of conchas from the cart behind her and I was able to pick the ones I wanted. As for the drink, I got the mazapán iced coffee. I consider myself a coffee lover and I loved the coffee to milk and sweetness ratio. The drink had mazapán pieces in it which was a really nice touch! The conchas were fresh and soft & cute colors! Overall i loved it and hope to be back soon!

Making it a bit cramp when you're trying to stand in line, look at what's available, and order at the same time. Parking here is hard to get to as well, the lot is super small and fits only one car at a time. If you happen to land a spot here your best bet is to reverse all the way out because a three point turn will turn into a multipoint turn quickly. My suggestion is to park in the lot in the plaza next door and walk over. As for the baked goods the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Croissant is phenomenal and the Strawberry Moon is a classic. The flavor profiles here lean Asian with many call backs to flavors such as ube and passionfruit. They also seem to change their menu often too so keep an eye out on the newer items as you visit. In terms of aesthetics of the pastries you can see the love in the folds of each one. The strawberry moon croissant is a good example of this because the amount of ridges in the croissant shows how many times it was folded while making it. That alone is back breaking work and truly a labor of love for something that gets consumed in minutes. Last but not least the staff, we love a good mom and pop shop. The entire family is in on this, from the cashier, baristas, and pastry chef. If you're looking for a AAPI business to support, this is the one to go to. They're kind, diligent, and when a pastry sells out you can always count on them to make more. Disappointment does not run in this family! Overall looking forward to continue coming back and frequently be a patron here.

This place stood out because it had a lot of reviews and was close to my house. The cafe itself is small, a bit stuffy inside. There is ample parking on the side which was a plus. There were only three customers inside when I arrived. When I walked in, the first thing I was asked was, "What does your dog need" rather than a hello or good morning. I explained that my dog and I were there to order coffee, and I was told the menu was outside and that she would help me at the door. It wasn't necessarily rude, just an unusual interaction. A sign explaining the dog policy might help avoid this awkward situation/confusion in the future. Unfortunately, the coffee was the biggest disappointment. After waiting about 15 minutes, my latte tasted watered down and lacked flavor. The best way I can describe it is that it tasted like warm cardboard. I don't mind waiting for a quality drink, but this one missed the mark. I ended up going home and adding more coffee and milk to make it drinkable. I genuinely wanted to like this place and was excited to try it, but the coffee was a letdown. If you're stopping by before work, be aware that the wait may be longer than expected.

Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! While their character macarons and classic rounds are super cute, what keeps me coming back is that they actually taste amazing. There's nothing worse than biting into a beautiful macaron only to find it's dry, but that's definitely not the case here. Their macarons are consistently moist, flavorful, and fresh, with the perfect texture every time. My first Japanese soufflé cheesecake experience was from a commercial chain, and while it was light and fluffy, it doesn't compare to Always Yours Bakery Cafe. It's def a unique combo I haven't came across any other milk tea shop yet til here, and given that it's a bakery, I figured their creme brûlée would be amazing--and it FASHO IS!
