First thing first, this is a beautiful cafe. You can order at the register or use their kiosk. I was so surprised to see an iced cortado on the menu because not too many coffee shops will serve that way. I quickly ordered that. I wanted to sit for a second and work on my laptop there, but I did not see a guest WiFi. I would have loved to enjoy the cafe a little longer. The drink was good. Been here multiple times since it opened, today being one of them and I must say was very disappointing. Not sure what was more disappointing me not trying my iced biscoff latte fbefore driving away or the trust I had in them to always deliver good tasting lattes. On my previous positive visuals I've tried their iced Pistachio Latte which is bomb!! And have also had the iced biscoff latte unlike today it was amazing. Today's experience was a let down and I understand we make mistakes but after a long shift at work and craving Sanaa Coffee and receiving what felt like a glass of milk with biscoff butter at the bottom left me feeling upset. By the time I drove off and tried it it was too late to turn back. I'll take my loss today. Maybe the barista was a different person than the one who has previously made my coffees. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and welcoming the place felt, filled with nothing but happy customers enjoying themselves. I was honestly a little nervous to come in at first because it was pretty crowded, but the second Bahar at the front cashier greeted me with such a warm smile, I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed. I love this location, it's conveniently on my way home so no having to detour and go all the way to Oakland when I want to indulge in a sweet craving. Sana'a's is definitely my guilty pleasure. The ambience is so nice, space is open and cozy, yet roomy. It looks absolutely luxurious inside and out! Service was the best. First timer and I'm hooked! Parking lot is a bit small but there is also street parking. The place is spacious and has plenty of seats and outlets for working. The staff was nice and helpful. I used to work in Oakland and would always stop by their location there. Now that I work in Hayward and they opened a location here, I will be here every day! My favorite coffee. The inside is gorgeous. A lot of design. They have a moderate sized parking lot. Tons of delicious food options! Desserts are also so good. This might be my hands down favorite coffee shop I've ever been to. The staff is always friendly. The managers also roam the floor checking in on you and are nice to talk to! My coworker had been talking about coming here since before they opened so we decided to just stop by and get some drinks for lunch. Interior is sooo beautiful and perfectly decorated. They were so nice and service was fast!! I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. It was ok! I think i should have gotten it with regular milk and i do like my matcha on the stronger side. Pastries are decent and worth a try. If you like cheesecake, Sana'a Cafe's version has Middle Eastern flavors (rose, pistachio) lighter texture, less sweet and not as dense/creamy as American styles. Texture more of an unbaked cheesecake and not a fan...just a preference. Baklavas are flaky and not overly sweet. I prefer the savory items like the chicken muskhan (rolled flatbread with shredded chicken, caramelized onions, sumac, cinnamon) and fatayers (dough with ground meat, spices, onions and folded into a triangle) chicken and beef. We are excited that this location finally opened. As with their other locations, the interior of the cafe is beautiful. We came here for a pistachio latte and also a pastry on a weekday morning. It was definitely a nice treat and a little pricier, but the ambiance of this shop is nice. The pistachio latte is a little more on the sweeter side, but still pretty good. The pistachio baklava was pretty good -- very crunchy, sweet and the pistachios were fresh. However, we do think the oil it was prepared with was kind of old, since it had a sharp taste to it otherwise the pastry was fresh, just had old oil. Overall, we are happy that this shop is in the neighborhood with a beautiful space to study and meet with folks, and a big parking lot. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Came here thinking it was your normal cafe place, but to my pleasant suprise, it is a yemeni cafe which is pure delight. I ordered the Mofawar, but it came with milk which I cant drink. MOE was helpful and replaced my order with an unsweetened cold brew Sana'ani which is fireee. He told me to wait, since he was getting it ready from a fresh batch for me. Great attitude & service! Waited an eternity for the Hayward location to be operational, and that sweet day is here! Been a big fan of their Adeni chai and have been to other locations but to have one right here in Hayward is!!!! Got the adeni chai, it was perfect. Also the rose milk cake which is really standard for milk cake. Service is efficient, and very respectful( which is oh so nice) . I love that this a big enough place where the intricate and traditional decor has space to shine. I'm also thankful there is a dedicated parking lot in the back so you don't have to look for parking on Mission Blvd. Although late at night the entire parking lot across the street could be empty and be useful to Sana'a patrons. Atmosphere is beautiful inside! Many choices of coffees to order. My favorite here has been the pistachio latte, which I can see it's a fan favorite since they seem to be sold out of it often. I usually place my order on an app and it's ready on good timing but lately I have been hesitant to place an order based on my next explanation. The only downside about this place is the parking availability. There is very limited parking within the vicinity of the cafe otherwise you have to park in the street and even then, parking is very limited. I have gone here a few times now and could not find a place to park close by (it was already dark and I did not feel safe driving a couple streets over and walking). The cafe is big and super nice, shiny, comfortable inside, and has decent acoustics -- you can have a conversation without shouting. This place keeps the hours of my dream cafe, from 6 a.m. until midnight, and until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Most tables have electrical outlets and their wi-fi is fast and solid. Parking is good. But this, our first experience here, wasn't very good. The woman who served me at the counter was rude. And it took 20 minutes for my wife and I to get 2 cortados and a couple of their savory items behind the glass at the counter. The QR code on the table forces you download an app before you can use the menu. The woman at the counter tried to insist I use their electronic kiosk near the counter even though they weren't very busy. There was a big overhead "Order Here" sign at the counter right in front of me. I explained to her that, "I don't know the name of the 2 savory treats I was looking at behind your counter, because only about 2/3 of the food there is labeled, and they look like many of your other products, so I don't think I could even find them on your electronic menu." She let me know by tone and body language that she would begrudgingly serving me. After I finally got our cortados and food and carried it to our table, I went back and looked HARD for napkins before bothering anybody behind the counter. Then I asked the same woman who had rudely taken my order, and this time her tone was unmistakable. "It's down there." I answered, "I looked and I can't find them." She walked me to them and pointed. There were only 3 big napkins that looked like a piece of paper standing up vertically in a plastic rack, not napkins in a standard napkin dispenser or tray, and after I took them, the rack was empty of napkins for other customers. This same woman wiped off our sticky table for my wife, and then wiped off the table next to it, which had been our first choice. It was rocking like a top, perhaps one of the adjusters missing, so that ANY drink set down by a customer would have spilled almost instantly, and she wiped it off too, as if it were a normal table. It would have taken a busboy 1 minute to move it away and re-space other tables near it. Also, these guys were not busing tables. I was there for an hour working at my computer, and nobody ever cleared a cup a few seats down from me. My cortado was strong and good, but my wife's was weak, mostly just milk. Wow, this place could be cool, but they need to hire people who want to work there. The woman who helped me seemed like she'd rather be anywhere but there. read more

This is a great spot to come and study or work because of the spacious seating area and tranquil atmosphere. I love the Khaliat Nahl which is a cream cheese stuffed bread drizzled with honey. Thank goodness for Sanaa! I hope ya'll put Starbucks out of business ;) TLDR; third space open later than anywhere else in this area, has solid wifi, great drinks and food items for every pallet. They are improving, give them time. I've been coming here since day 1 (they opened a couple of months ago). I've been almost every week since so I feel this is a good time to leave a review. Drinks? Excellent. I've tried their Sanaa latte, Yemeni latte, Matcha latte, Dirty Chai, Pistachio latte, and Adeni Chai. My go-to was the Sanaa latte for a while, but it changes week to week. Every single one has been great. There were times where my drink didn't taste right, but I always ask for them to fix it and they've always been very nice about it. Food? The best. I've tried almost every Fatayer and loved them all, except the Spinach. It was a little too bitter for my taste, but is probably yummy to someone else. I've tried the chicken muskan and the honey comb pastry, both delicious. Ugh and the biscoff cheesecake!!! The birds nest (next to the register) SO GOOD. You pretty much can't go wrong with anything sweet/savory here. Some things might not be for you depending on your taste buds, but doesn't warrant writing off the whole menu. Service, it was rough in the beginning , but I have noticed improvements over time. I can tell they are slowly getting their systems in order. They still have their off days, but I do not think that justifies a one star rating like some have left. People are human, give them a break. A note to other reviewers: businesses cannot improve if you don't let them know something is wrong. Instead of rushing to leave a negative review maybe talk to the manager/staff first so they can rectify the issue. I also don't think basing your review off of one bad day is fare (the day something was off with their online ordering system). Final notes: thank you for fixing the wi-fi and AC. The menu is also less confusing now compared to the old one. Keep making improvements. Ya'll are on the right track! Maybe they're known for other items, but it's not an excuse for their "matcha" (which I'm hesitant to even call it that) to be horrendously bad. On top of it already being expensive, oat milk substitutions were $1.50, and for them to serve me a drink that was 85% milk, 10% syrup, and 5% "matcha" is outright embarrassing. At that point, take it off the menu if you can't make it right. Luckily I got a refund, but service was very slow on a Saturday morning with two people working. Just came in to pick up an order from their app. I didn't see my coffee to pick up on the counter rack this time and it was past my pick up time. I asked about it and she got my name and said "oh it's not on there because we're out of pistachio" I said oh it's not updated on your app. Didn't even apologize and asked if I wanted another option. I had no choice it was paid for so I just got an iced coffee. The thing is, I wasn't even given an apology, or offered like a free pastry or an inconvenience item or a credit or anything in that sort because of the error that they made it was very nonchalant. I don't know if I'll come in again. I thought they were better than this from the 1st time I went in. I recommend that they should update everything on their app. In the future, I suggest that you call before you order anything from their app. Just be better next time with your customers especially if an item is out. read more

This cafe is very large and clean. I love the decor. It was so nice that they have their own parking lot. There's a lot of seating to hang out and it's noticed a bunch of outlets if you need to work. I really wanted to like this place but it gave very weird vibes!! First of all, it's beautiful and the display of cakes and desserts look so delicious. My coworkers and I came here directly after a lunch meeting. We were full but we wanted maybe a tiny bite of sweets and some coffee. We ordered a biscoff cheesecake and biscoff pastry along with tea, coffee, and a fruit drink. The drinks and cakes were good but the service was so strange. After we received our order, they had forgotten my coworker's coffee so he went up to the register to follow up and the immature boys started yelling at the cashier! He said he wasn't sure if they were related or siblings but that doesn't make it okay. At the end of our conversation there were still more than half of the pastry and cheesecake left because we really weren't hungry. We wanted to pack it up since we just had lunch prior. I went up to the cash register and the same immature boys were mumbling to themselves staring at us walking up and I heard one say "watch she'll ask for a box" which I did and they laughed and walked away and the girl, that they yelled at earlier, stepped up the cash register to help. What kind of a business is this? Very immature staff. Poor customer service. Very very strange & the poor girl they were berating for forgetting the drink.... Enjoyed my mocha here -- didn't just taste like chocolate milk as I've had at other places. I don't know if it was because the store was busy (lot of people there -- maybe due to World Cup on one of their big TV screens) but they made me order at the kiosk even though they had baristas there. Very good selection of desserts plus drinks. The parking is pretty tight but they do have a dedicated lot. The bad is that they ran out of the main feature 'Pistachio' ingredient for the last 6 weeks.. how do you run out of the main or featured ingredient for your business.
