I've seen this place so many times and I'm glad I gave it shot! The menu is pretty extensive. The workers there greeted us upon our arrival and were very nice. They speak both Spanish and English. The inside is very nicely decorated but I was unfortunately not able to eat there since I was running short on time. I ordered 2 agua frecas and they both hit the spot!!! The nachos were good. Nothing special to them but I wasn't craving loaded nachos. The esquite nachos were bomb! This is a good spot to hit for some traditional and non traditional Mexican snacks! This first visit I decided to get a mango-passionfruit agua fresca...refreshing on a hot day but a tad sweet (for me) so let the ice melt a bit. Nevertheless, delicious. Yo-yo's Botaneria offers varies sweet and savory snacks with their popular items: YUCATECAN MARQUESITAS - Mexican crepe, filled with different sweet fillings, including condensed milk or queso de bola (edam cheese) and rolled. EMPAPELADOS - protein (shrimp, bacon, asada, chorizo or veggie) on a base of corn, mayonnaise, cotija cheese, butter, lime, salsa macha. NOTE: If you have a nut allergy, they have a salsa macha using peanuts vs pepitas. This Mexican condiment is spicy, smoky, nutty made with a base of oil, dried chilies, garlic, and salt. Items I'll need to try next time along with their strawberry horchata! The gentleman at the counter was truly helpful, friendly and patient explaining their offerings. They've been at the new location on Mission for about 3 months moving from a kitchen incubator located on E14th. Now they have their own brick-and-mortar in a beautiful space. First, the place is so cute, bright and fresh. The decor is adorable! They have a great patio for a sunny day. I ordered the pineapple guava Agua fresco and it was really good. Then I had the Camarones Empapolado. It was rich in flavor with plenty of mushrooms, peppers, shrimp and corn - topped with mayo and cotija cheese. Lastly I had to have a marquesita with strawberries and Nutella. I was so quick to get into that that I forgot to take a picture. The service was great! Super friendly. Came here after a grocery trip. My family and I looked at the menu online and everything looked delish, but we were more interested in the Marquesitas. It was a Saturday afternoon and the line was pretty long but plenty of seating inside and out. I love the color scheme and the tiles. It really gives authentic Mexico decor. You can see the workers making marquesitas through the glass wall at the counter and behind that they have a kitchen. The options were a bit unusual but in a yummy culinary way? (Idk if that makes sense haha). So the marquesitas come in chocolate m, Choco strawberry, cream cheese and shredded cheese! You can mix flavors, but my kids wanted to try the strawberries and Nutella. I actually went crazy and tried the shredded cheese and Nutella lol. Strawberry and Nutella marquesita - 9/10, it's kind of a wrapped crepe but crunchy. The flavor was good but my kids could not chew through it because of how rough it was. Cheese and Nutella -9/10 although a weird combo, I actually enjoyed this! Mine was also extra crunchy so it took a minute to chew down but I did finish it. It was a bit sour and just didn't hit the right spot for me. The Marquesita was great! Mine, somehow, was a bit crunchier than the other person who I was with. Not a big deal but I just had to be more careful. This place is really cute, it's pretty spacious. They have some outdoor seating & will bring you your order. They also give you the Marquestias in these cute ceramic containers. The presentation is great. I didn't have a chance to interact much with the staff, but the cashier left a great impression. She was kind and welcoming. She helped us figure out what we wanted and made sure we really knew what each item was. Wanted something sweet and found this place on yelp. Not busy when we came in and it was clean and cute, all the staff were very nice especially the cashier. I asked about the Marquesitas and he said that they ran out of strawberries so he gave me other suggestions and I ended up getting one with nutella and banana, and my fiancé got the guava pineapple agua fresca. I thought the marquesita was just gonna be a crepe rolled up but it tasted a little different and the texture was crunchy (be careful i accidentally cut the roof of my mouth) but it was still good, I think next time I wanna try one with the cheese because it was very similar to a crepe but crunchy. Loved it here! Tried Yoyo's agua fresca at a community event and had to come by and check out their shop. Parking was super easy because they have an attached lot. We strolled right in and ordered 2 agua frescas -- pineapple & guava and mango & passionfruit. Both aguas were super good. Very refreshing, not too sweet, and distinct flavors. The shop was so cute. I drove past this place so many times as it was still prepping for its grand opening, so when I saw that they had opened a while back I knew I had to try it out. That and everytime I did pass by, I saw soooo many people inside. I knew it had to be a community favorite and would have delicious treats. And it did not disappoint! I tried the platanito marquesita, fresada, and horchata. The platanito marquesita was filled with banana and dulce de leche goodness. I appreciated that the entire roll was filled with banana all the way through so that each bite was the same. This was my first time trying this specific dessert so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be, but the crepe was a little too crunchy for me. It would break into too many pieces when bitten into, and I think it could have been a tad bit softer for the perfect bite. Nonetheless, the taste of it hit the spot. The fresada was a treat as well. The mix of sweetened cream and whipped cream coated all the strawberries and was devoured quickly. The cup also holds a toooooon of strawberries. It felt like I was never running out of them. The horchata was one of the better ones I've had. Strained really well and was refreshing. The place is super cute and inviting. There are a good amount of tables you can eat at, after ordering at the counter. I like that they have so many different treats. I definitely need to come back to try the corn and of course, more sweets. There is a parking lot with ample amounts of parking as well. But his aggressive and violet approach to my person was disappointing and truly offensive. Well his lost of business. I always love to see new shops open up in my local area. This one's so unique, and has a really nice airy bright space with big windows. There are some tables outside with good shade as well. We tend to frequent Asian restaurants more (this is just a couple doors down from our favorite Chai Thai Noodles) but I'm willing to taste any new food at least once. Chaskaloca: Got this with tostitos. If you like the taste of mexican street corn (which I definitely do), this is really delicious. The crunch from the chips really elevates it, like corn-filled nachos. They've got a ton of other options for corn bowls that have other vegetables, shrimp, meat, etc. in them, and it's really customizable. I will definitely be suggesting this as a light lunch option for a weekend get-together in the future. Strawberry horchata: They're not kidding. It's really delicious. Creamy and sweet without being *too* sweet (and I can't handle much sugar these days). I've had strawberry horchata before, but this is the best so far. Traditional Marquesita: I wanted to try the cheese/dulce de leche combo because it's a flavor I've never even considered before. Suuuper crunchy. The cheese was not as creamy as I would have expected from a sweet dish, definitely a harder cheese similar in texture to the pre-shredded parmesan you get at the supermarket (though it sounds like it's probably a Dutch Edam cheese? I ordered the chaska, which has surprisingly become my new favorite! I've had many corn-in-a-cup dishes, but this one stands out with the best flavor. The salsa macha given on the side is a little spicy but definitely delicious. The beverages are unique as well; the strawberry horchata is a standout for us. Diana, the owner, is incredibly kind. From my first visit, she was more than happy to explain her menu. I loved the marquesita, which is similar to a crepe but has a wafer-like consistency and contains cheese. I mentioned to Diana that while I enjoyed the flavor with cheese, it wasn't my preference. She gladly made me one without cheese, and it was delicious! My son ordered the fresada, which is like strawberries and cream, and he couldn't stop raving about it.
