The name caught my attention so I brought my husband for veteran's day breakfast . Place was smaller than expected, but has a friendly vibe. The service was good, waitresses were attentive , but the time to get our food was longer than expected. When I finally got my food, it was the wrong order so it seems they need to work on their order system. She seemed confused and didn't know which table had ordered the food. On the bright side she offered us another salsa and more chips, so I was ok waiting as long as I had my chips and salsa. The food was delicious. Hubby had green chilaquiles with the arrachera. I had huevos con bistec. My youngest had quesadillas. We drank 2 coffees and two delicious freshly squeeezed orange juices and total was about $45. It seemed pricey, but we had a coupon here on yelp for $15 to get $30 worth of food so that helped and only ended up paying $30 total for 2 adults and a child. Get that coupon! read more

Groupon brought me here but the delicious food and great service will keep me coming back. I ordered the chilaquiles special a la diabla with cecina and two eggs. It was delicious and very spicy for those that love spicy like myself it was perfect. It's their spiciest sauce and it was very savory. The servers were very attentive and so very kind. I checked in on yelp and received a complimentary coconut drink which was the cherry on top of my visit. Before leaving one of the servers encouraged us to visit again soon and try their other dishes. I thought that was a very nice, personal touch to the typical, drop the change off and leave that most places have. I highly recommend this place. This place is great, went about 2 Sunday's ago randomly wanting to try a new restaurant and I happen to be in the area. They start you off with some chips and salsa, they have i believe 7 different flavors and they let you pick out which ones you will like to try. They were all really savory. I also tried the coconut milk water which was AMAZING. My boyfriend and I both had chilaquiles and they were delicious, you also get to chose from those 7 salsas as the flavor for your food. This is an okay place. I'm from Houston and when I go to Chicago I want to try different places and decided to come to this one. The waitress was really nice, she asked us if we wanted soup because they had soup, she didn't mention it was an extra cost, we even saw a whole family eat a small (really small) soup also so we assumed it was free. We decided to say yes. The food was okay, the portions were not as good I've tried many places in Chicago with great portions for the same price. Would not really recommend. Very disappointed, actually, i'm very upset that i spent my hard earned money on this food. My family have been there several times before and now the food is lower in quality. Stale tortillas, cold coffee and my favorite dish there, was huevos motuleños. The dish should include refried black bean on the tortilla and sweet plantains. The ingredients are on the menu!!! I told the waitress my plate was missing these ingredients and she was like "no it never had that" mentirosa!!! i hesitantly believed her and then i looked at my pics on my phone and the menu and i was right. This is the first time i write a review like this but i was so gaslighted and i feel like a fool. I think they totally just lied because they didn't have the ingredients. Instead they could have just told me upfront. Just be honest. You have lost business from 3 fam's. Hopefully you change and treat your customers with respect and up the quality of the food because you guys were great. read more

My mom told me about this place some time ago but i decided to try it out a few days ago with my son. When you walk in the decor seems a little plain but they do have a nice painting in the back wall. Anyway, i was greeted as soon as i walked in and a waitress came to give me the menu. Very friendly but a little shy. Anywho, i decided to order the 3 small pancakes for my son with strawberries and im glad i wasnt dissapointed. They were very good. I also tried a chicken taco and i was surprised how big it was! The chicken was nicely cooked and had a good taste! I was very dissapointed in the Horchata though. It tasted so bad i couldnt drink it and ended up ordering a lemonade. I do want to go back and try other items in the menu because i like it so far. read more

Can't say enough about how nice the owner and her staff is. This is a great breakfast, lunch spot. I heard of their huevos motulenos; they must be the only place west of Rick Bayless in Chicago to serve this delicious Yucatecan dish! A delicious surprise! Stopped in with my boys as we have been looking for a new breakfast spot. My husband and I both ordered the chilaquiles special, it came with the chilaquiles (sauce of choice) eggs, steak, and beans. My husbands complaint was his scrambled eggs were overcooked. For me I would of liked rice along with the meal and a touch more crema. My son loved his meal but it was a simple egg with beans and rice so no complaints there. I was surprised that they did not have horchata but they had other juices that worked just as well. I will definitely go back and I hope this small place gets more attention. read more

The only thing good about this restaurant was the waitresses. It's a small restaurant that's supposed to be authentic Mexican food so I thought let's give it a try. I went there around 10 a.m. found a table right away. I was totally disappointed. I got chilaquiles with no flavor no spice no nothing it was good in portion but I didn't even want to finish it. My friend built her own scrambler also no flavor at all. Its like they diced up a potato and fried it and put it on the plate. The steak was tender but flavorless. The coffee was colored water. We tried their green chilaquiles with arrachera, they come with cheese, sour cream and lots of beans. My main complaint is the flavorless arrachera. The beans are also not good. The green salsa was a little sour probably due to the overcooking of the tomatillos. We were excited to try this place but unfortunately will not be returning. read more

I give them two star because everything about this place was a disappointment except the service. When we came in the place was busy so we ended seating at the bar. seating at the bar gives you access to seeing the kitchen, but I wasn't too concerned at first. The young girl that was taking care of us was sweet and very polite...everything was going good . Food looked good , it was tasting good until my friend found a hair in the chilaquiles...since we were seating by the bar I was able to see one of the cooks who had blonde hair . We immediately knew the hair was probably hers. That ruined my friends food and she got grossed out not wanting to switch the plate or grab something else .... I started getting grossed out and I started paying attention to what was happening in the kitchen. I noticed a plate with pancakes with strawberry topping seating on the table were all the food was being placed ... the plate was there for a few minutes and then the male cooked picked up the plate used the plate of the grill to wiped off the strawberry and set the pancakes back up in the grill ... I kept looking for what he was going to do next . To my surprise he placed the pancakes on a clean plate and set it back for the waitress to take to a table near by. I was so disgusted by what I had seen that I immediately stopped eating told my friend and sister we needed to go. When my friend found the hair I was almost understandings because it might have being an accident , but after watching the cook deliberately do something to the food I was so angry.. I wonder if they have a health and sanitation license because tampering with customers food is unsanitary and flat out nasty. If you do decide to give this place a tried go ahead but don't be surprised if you ende up with a food born illness. read more
