I'm a big fan of this build your own taco place. I wasn't very hungry this time so I just got some quesos for the table to share and had those. I got the monthly special which had chorizo, corn, and jalepeño as well as the dirty queso. I really enjoyed both of them. I also had a bite of my husband's build your own taco which was delicious as usual. We were there around 7:30 on a Tuesday. We didn't have to wait to be seated, but it was pretty busy. Our food came quickly. There are a few locations in Columbus. If you like build your own taco places, check them out. read more

That queso, tho! Seriously, I could eat a whole vat of it. The taco I had was delicious but the queso had me eating to the point of discomfort. The chips were perfectly salty and crispy and paired nicely with that cheesey, gooey, goodness. They have a few varieties of queso (including one with chorizo, another called "diablo" that includes jalapeños, habañero, and onion, and "dirty queso" with chicken, black beans, onions, and "dirty sauce," and more!) but we went with the basic "blanco" which was perfect. We also had the traditional guac, which was delicious. If you want something a little more interesting you can get fancier with pineapple (with chipotle honey) and tuscan (artichoke hearts, basil, balsamic and queso fresco) varieties as well. Tacos are a must, of course. They have a few "suggested" varieties but I went with the "build your own" option and made the most amazing taco! I started with the "sweet lucy" shell (flour soft + corn hard + queso + guac) filled with pulled pork, pickled red onions, pineapple salsa, and queso fresco. SO GOOD. Generally very happy with this place and their tacos! We ate on the patio yesterday and had a really nice server who made us feel welcome. I am a fan of the soft and hard shell combo and got that with their limited Baja shrimp taco, plus some guacamole (and crispy chips!), and a Mango sangria. Condado is continuing making changes, but some are for the good and some are for the bad. For example, their happy hour uSed to just be in the bar area and now it is in the entire restaurant. Their happy hour is 4-7 which is great. it is half off house margs and $1 off tacos. Here's the bad. Their tacos continue to go up in price. Not saying it is big jumps but still. Their rewards program is always going up. It used to be $5 off for every $50 you spend, now it is $5 off for every $55 you spend. I think one of condados appeals is how affordable they are. I've been coming to Condado pretty much since the start! Their tacos are superb and I loved the addition of their rice bowls recently. That is my usual go to! You get to pick anything you want in it and it's so fun! The chips are my favorite part of the experience. I also really enjoy the taco shells that are specialty. Some have quasi, guac, chorizo between the two shells. The only negative is that the service can be a bit spotty. We had a wait of about 15 mins which I was good with since me and my friends were still getting through Short North traffic. We came at happy hour which featured the 2$ taco and cheap drinks. It was packed to say the least but that the point of happy hour; cheap eats and sips and your a happy camper ;). Our service here is always good. The same servers still work there and seem happy! We got our drinks and the chips (my favorite!) and then order our tacos via list (you mark on a paper) and got our food nice and hot. Although I am a huge Condado fan and frequent other locations, I have to say, Out of all the Condado locations, this one struggles to have good service. Went for a bachelorette party where the bride had reserved their one table space that you can reserve, and somehow another group was trying to claim the table and the management let them. Although the fault was more on the ride guests that took over our table, it really shouldn't have been an issue. There is always a line out the door and no space to stand by the bar. Terrible parking but neat spot. Not large but clean with some unique decorations. Fair prices, decent servers and has liquor. They have a short list of pre-designed tacos, but the real hook is the build your own list of ingredients. Two of us had 5 different ones between us; all were very good. Nice shells plenty of good ingredients, fresh and hot, nice servings size. Fresh guacamole and queso were good too. The tortilla chips were the downfall, not good, thick and over cooked. On one of the first nice days in columbus, the short north Condado was packed!!! We went for their happy hour specials ($20 pitcher!) and stayed for dinner. We started with just their house margaritas which were awesome, then after happy hour got more bold and ordered more unique ones like the blood orange (my favorite). I love to get their pre-made tacos and do build your owns, just depends on my mood! I got a blue dream (with a cool-ranch inspired shell!) which is always a favorite. We had an excellent experience here at this Condado's location back in the end of February! A group of about 30 of us from a cheer gym in Florida, had the best service given to us by Taylor and Jasmine! My family being from the Pittsburgh area, had been to a Condado before, but everyone else had not. They loved it and how well they were able to accommodate us all. They recommended Condado saying it's delicious and within walking distance so we ended up getting some tacos from there to tide us over. They have a pretty cool concept as you build your own taco by filling out a form of everything you'd like on your taco. First you pick one of 8 base options like the usual corn or flour tortilla, or you can choose a more fun option that comes with some toppings already added on. Then you pick your protein from an array of 9 options, toppings from 6 choices, choose one of 3 cheeses, if you want a salsa you get to pick from 4, and they have 7 fun sauces to finish you off. They also have 6 sides you can choose from if you like. I tried their grilled portobellos soft tacos with queso fresco - plain, simple but delicious. Even with hardly anything on these little guys I felt some heat. I also tried their chorizo soft taco and that didn't have *some* heat....that had a whole lotta burn. Ordered for dinner from UberEats. Overall, the food was good. My husband got Lucy's Fire and the Bad Habit and loved both. I did the "make your own" with a Juju shell and a Firecracker shell. The bottom of the taco was nonexistent so the contents fell out and that part of my meal turned into basically a taco bowl. I might recommend only getting the double wrapped shells for delivery. Don't let the hipster crowds sway you elsewhere - first check to see if there are tables outside, as we found the patio to be practically empty. You have options galore at Condado with their extensive build-your-own-taco list, but also you can pick one of their suggested tacos. I chose to go both routes: (01) Los Sanchos - Corn hard shell, braised beef, jicama, corn salsa, queso fresco, and secret sauce (02) "Los Allison F."- Sweet Lucy tortilla (think gourmet double decker with a soft flour tortilla, corn hard shell, queso, and guac), house made chorizo, tomatoes, chihuahua cheese, and cilantro/lime aoili I gotta say...I think I compiled the better taco for two reasons: (01) the tortilla choice (go double decker style) and (02) the braised beef on the Los Sanchos was on the dry side, making it tough to eat at times. The best part? One of my tacos was free because I have 1000+ Instagram followers. All those photos/hashtags saved me $3! Trying to decide if you should make the trip? It's a cool concept of how the menu is where you fill out on a paper what all you want. The worst thing is the parking which sucks anywhere by there. I like this best for the happy hour. It's from 4 to 7. They have half off margaritas and $1 off tacos. It's only if you're in the bar area which is pretty stupid, because this makes the bar crowded with people ordering the specials. This is the most annoying thing about here. It really sucks because maybe you want a fucking table if you're with others. They have a long beer and cocktail list. It wouldn't be as great without the food. The highlight is the tacos. It's tacos are much better than the fast casual build your owns. They have a few vegetarian options.
