Been thinking about Condado since my last trip to PA! I wasn't able to go last time so I made sure it was my first stop this trip :) though I was in a rush I still had a wonderful experience! I let the Condado team know I was in a rush and they got me in and out in no time! I ordered the sweet heat which was amazing and another masterpiece I forgot the name of already.... The double shell jutsu they use is my favorite, I love that taco tech!! The vibes were super high even on a late afternoon on a Tuesday. I wish I had more time to browse the menu and order more tacos but my quick decision was excellent! I can't wait to go back :D Also the murals around the restaurant were incredible! This is not the place to come on Cinco de Mayo when it falls on Taco Tuesday. All Happy Hour and Tuesday specials are null and void. Only specials they had were for pitchers of margaritas or shots of tequila. If you happen to drink skinny margaritas you are out of luck. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. Thankful for her showing kindness to us as we navigated the menu options. Plenty of seating in regular and bar height tables and chairs. We started off with guacamole. We were not impressed. It looked like takeout food. And the tortilla chips were cold, not hot and fresh. Oh well, each Mexican restaurant does things differently. We both ordered a protein bowl. Him the Swole Bowl with chicken; I had the Loaded Taco Salad with chicken. Comes with a tiny cup of salsa and a tiny cup of cilantro-lime aioli. This review isn't too positive but solid reasons why: 1. It was Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo; their "specials" was a pitcher of Margarita. Their standard specials: tacos, skinny Margarita, etc. were not applicable today. 2. I was told their guac was really good. It wasn't. Chips were cold and just average. 3. Our Skinny Margarita was light on tequila, and heavy soda water. I make far better ones at home. I ended up ordering the Swole Bowl; my wife got the taco salad. I would have liked to try their tacos but no specials so I struck to lots of protein. This was a good meal so the stars were not reduced more. Our server was great, she really cared that the specials were not in effect. She was very sweet and I could tell she card. Ambiance was mildly loud but we could carry on conversations. Had been to a Condado in Ohio and the experience here was just as good! Lots of options, and the build your own is the perfect choice for someone (like myself) who can't pick. Everything tasted extremely fresh, lots of flavor options, from the sauces, to the meats. Staff was friendly, it wasn't too busy but the server was rushing us a tad, but we left when we wanted. Only knock I'd say was the margarita flight was extremely artificial and sugary. But the option for the flight was great. I would definitely try a different drink next time. read more

Condado Taco may have slowly become a citywide chain, but don't sleep on their creativity and flavors. We love some good tacos and Condado is never a bad option. Once you learn the names, you will be craving your favorites.. and don't even get started on the queso. The word addictive is even addicted to it... it's that good. I had tacos that were unlike any I've had anywhere the amount of cumin in the meat was overwhelming. And a hard taco in a soft taco with and extremely tart and spicy sauce. I ate about two bites. Very bizarre flavors. I have a theory that when you eat a lot of hot sauces when cooking you lose the ability to actually correctly season food for someone else. Don't know if that true but I find people misuse spices and mix flavor into a taste bomb of mangled flavors that have nothing to do with each other. We've ordered take out from Conado's numerous times and have enjoyed it. This time was a bad experience. Ordered 2 Lucy's Fire tacos and they were filled with mostly lettuce and completely cold. The cheese wasn't even melted, just seemed like the pulled the chicken out of the fridge, put it in a taco with cold cheese, lettuce, and toppings. $15 por favor... Just be aware if you order takeout, you may have a good experience (like we had a few times before) or you may just get 2 cold tacos that go straight into the trash... bummer! read more

Placed a lg order over 100$$ for delivery, we did not receive out drink when I called all they could tell me is I would have to have it refunded to my card. Always have delivery handed to you and check to make sure you get everything or you will have to drive to pick up the missing order. I believe this is due to delivery apps that are used and the drivers keep parts of the order. It's sad that you can't order delivery with out making the deliver driver wait until you make sure everything is there. read more

I ordered Condado as take-out, I needed something fast and nearby. I had never been before so I decided to give it a shot. I have never been so displeased with a meal. I ordered the vegan chorizo and it literally had zero flavor. I ordered the Thai tofu burritos and I couldn't even take a bite, it had so many onions that I didn't include in my order. The queso was fine, nothing to write home about. I hate to say it but Chipotle is 100% better than this place. Not only is it incredibly pricey, it lacks flavor. The staff seems to have high turnover but I don't mind because that hasn't affected my service or the quality of my food. Stopped by Condado for lunch today and I thought it was good. For $13, there's a lunch special where you get 2 mix and match tacos and chips and dip. There are a TON of options. We were doing a late lunch, and it was pretty quiet at 2pm, but it's a really nice place and our waiter was also really good. The vegan carnitas taco was awesome. I also had an Asian themed one with tofu, which was ok. Someone else had a mushroom based one, which apparently they didn't like. For the chips, they are kind of ok. A bit on the oily side. The dips were good. I got the queso, which was good. We also had guac as a dip, which was fine. Someone also got a green salsa and lastly we had elotes as a dip. It was kind of cool to share all the dips across the party. I enjoyed that carnitas taco, and that was probably the highlight. The restaurant & bar were both super packed because it was Halloween weekend, but we were still able to be seated fairly quickly. To our surprise, food & drinks were served fast despite the crowd! Our server was very attentive. The drinks were flavorful & refreshing. The food, however, was hit or miss. Some of the tacos were really yummy & flavorful (such as the Korean BBQ), while others were mushy & bland. The dips (we tried the green chili queso & the guac) were definitely better than the tacos. My friend recommended this place and I'm not usually a fan of crazy gourmet tacos but wanted to give it a try. My rating is really more of a 3.5ish because the place was clean, decor was very unique and bright. Our server Tupelo was very nice and knowledgeable. It really just came down to the food for me. What I did like about the tacos are that you have that soft and crunchy texture from both shells, but for me overall there was just too much going on inside. The steak one I had was very limey and tart, didn't get much outside of those flavors which at time was overwhelming. The pork one was more balanced with the textures and flavors but personally I just enjoy more of a classic authentic taco. After the graduation ceremonies, it was about 9:30 at night and we were looking for a place to eat. We decided to try out one of the new Condados locations that had recently opened up in East Liberty, and it was a hit! We got some chips and dips for the appetizers, and they were all so amazing! The pico guac was our favorite. And then, we ordered a combination of nachos, create-your-own tacos, and bowls for the entrees (I didn't get any pictures of these because we were all so hungry)! We had no complaints about any of the food, and the staff there was so helpful recommending different items and checking in on us to make sure we were enjoying everything! Now the down side: ervice is hit or miss at times and based on who you get as your server. Foodwise, nothing too fancy and a couple of instances with cold meat and 10 mins to get a side of salsa. I would most likely would visit more if it were not for the long wait times to get food and then getting the check. I had really good tacos last night so I came back tonight to get some during lunch. I ordered at the bar and when the receipt printed I noticed this waitress intentionally look at the bottom of the receipt for a few seconds before handing it to me to verify if I tipped. When I held my hand out for the receipt she put it face down on the table instead. She also made me scream from across the bar to place my order instead of walking up to me like a normal sensible adult. I did tip but I doubt I'd go back and sit down at this location. When I asked her about it she said she was verifying it was my receipt but there was NO one else at the bar ordering and it printed immediately after presssing print on the handheld when I was done paying. Don't insult my intelligence. Not to mention the tacos taste nothing like they did last night and I ordered them verbatim from a screenshot of the order I had last night. The waitress from last night 12/6 with red hair and sort of a mullet and glasses was very pleasant. Took my order in front of me and had the handheld ready to pay. Not sure what this waitresses problem was but, I doubt I'll be back to this location. This is why people working these jobs don't get tips anymore. Pitchers were discounted from $33 to $25, but what they don't tell you is that adding any sort of flavor adds an extra $3 charge. We got the Three Buds full size to share ($23) Plenty of chips and dip to share. The queso and guacamole were good, but the house salsa is underwhelming and lacking flavor. We started with nachos and has a sampling of guacamole, queso and chorizo queso (my fave). had gotten the Seasonal Taco (Sriracha Butter Chicken) and the Braised & Confused. I ordered both with the regular gluten free shell. Both were delicious. The only downside was that the tacos shell broke and I had filling everywhere!
