Very cute restaurant with yummy food! I had the fajita quesadilla and liked that it had bell peppers and onions in it. Great and friendly service.

My family has been here twice, once on a Thursday and once on a Friday night. We are still grieving for the loss of our departed On The Border in Auburn Hills and have been looking for a replacement, and we thought (we thought) this was the one. Overall, the place is super clean. They've done a super slick, very funny trick where they play videos of some guy touring several countries eating local cuisine so that viewers/customers are hungry from watching by the time their food arrives, which I think is actually ingenious. The first time we came, the food was great. It was sparsely populated (as one might expect on a weekday night). I got the fajitas and my dad got a spicy burrito of some variety (sorry I can't be more specific, I don't remember :'] ) Service was fast and polite, and parking, though limited out front for the several businesses that share that mall space, was not a problem. The following time we came, my dad and I were raving about the food the whole ride there, so the expectations were high. The parking lot was full so we parked on the street (which I imagine is a problem for the people that live there). Of course, it being a Friday night, the place was full--good! I enjoy seeing little restaurants busy. There was no line and we were seated within three minutes by friendly waitstaff. It took a very long time to get our drink orders in--again, busy--and in the meantime, we got to see a sideshow of the manager arguing with several patrons about their bill. At Los Gallos, they use a digital billing system, and it was my understanding (chronic eavesdropper) that these people believed they were overcharged for items listed differently on the menu. The manager was very kind and polite and handled it with grace. Anyway, three of my four family members' food came out cold, but both times my fajitas came out the fastest of any place I'd been to. *Lots* of oil at the bottom but I appreciate the sizzle too, I guess, and we all had leftovers so it didn't matter that it came out cold because we had to reheat it anyways. I don't know that any of my family members will be back, but I am likely to.

Dinner for me! My friend had my rice n beans. I didn't want the tortillas, but they did come with this meal.

This restaurant is a newer restaurant in Clawson that I've been curious about! I went here last night with friends and we all liked our meals but no one loved their meals. My one friend liked 2/3 tacos she ordered but wasn't impressed with the 3rd. I ordered their chicken fajitas and they were slightly above average. There wasn't tons of chicken but the fajitas had a good flavor. I definitely would come back here, and it would be great if they were to get some sort of a liquor license too. Check them out! Husband and I were in the area and needed to eat. After reading the reviews, we settled on this place. We were sat right away and the wait staff quickly brought us water and chips and salsa. Food was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the carnitas. I enjoy that they have numerous styles of tacos available. Next time, I want to try the mexicano style tacos. I enjoyed the decor.

What a refreshing place. You are welcome the moment you come in and comfortable all the time you're there. The late staff was extremely nice, and knowledgeable. The restaurant is brand new so it's very very clean and it looks like it might be set up later for a bar, which would be a bonus with margaritas! We had the enchilada special which was a phenomenal deal and tasty. You could tell that the beans were homemade and the sauce had cooked for a long time to develop its robust flavor. Kudos to the staff and best wishes on your future in Clawson

New Mexican in former sushi restaurant - Sozai. Very inviting small tables and galley style seating. Food was "meh". Had the Gallo Burrito which was served "wet" style with queso cheese. Flavor was decent but wasn't anything I would go back for at $17.

A cut above with very flavorful birria and salsas. The dining room looked fresh and fun.

However, almost every single time I go to this place, I always get sick a week or less after. At first I didn't think much of it, and then it kept happening, and now it's not a coincidence anymore. I don't know what kind of germs go into making the food, and trust me I get it. I've worked in kitchens that have gotten away with a TON of stuff that the customers would revolt at if ever heard. But personally, it does make me quite nauseous thinking about how many plates have been served (not just mine) with dirty gloves. Something my grandma used to say was if you find one cockroach, thats an isolated incident. If you find one cockroach, and then found another, there's probably a lot more that you don't see. Just a thought. 2/5

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.

Let's just say they definitely improved ! We got an order of chips and their seasonal salsa, which was roasted red pepper, and it was very flavorful and delicious. I got a hot honey burrito with beans and rice and my gf got birria tacos. Also not pictured is a marg. Hot honey burrito was a lot of food! The rice is okay, a little bland and clumps together, unlike traditional Mexican fluffy rice. Refried beans are fine. Burrito is very filled and was super sweet from the hot honey which made it a bit hard to finish, but definitely enough food, and I probably could have eaten half. Birria tacos were delish and the consumé was super rich. Margs come in different flavors but they all kinda taste the same to me so far, and they're strong. Maybe a bit too strong? Depends what your goal is with them. Service was good, a little slow for us being at the bar, but nothing to be concerned about. Trivia was fun and we'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu. Great job on menu revamp!

I had the birria tacos and I thought they were really good! The meat was super tender and the consommé was really flavorful and well seasoned, I've had some other places that were pretty watery. We decided to meet an old friend and this was the place she chose. When I say old, I do mean elderly. I haven't known her that long. She is very sweet though, but I digress. Other tables had a dedicated server. We did not. We had the bartender. That was weird. She came and took our order, she brought us our food, but if you needed absolutely anything - you had to go to the bar, wait for her to stop making drinks and then ask for your napkins, drink refill, or boba tea, and in my case it was all 3. And no- despite it being on the specials sign, they don't have boba tea. I was not offered an alternative. I'm so glad I stood there waiting at the bar while my friends ate. This is probably the worst service I've ever encountered. It's probably not even her fault. Who in their right mind would schedule like that? I'm betting someone called out. That didn't make it better. It definitely does not make me want to go back. She poured water on my Mexican pizza after she sat the pizza down for me. She didn't offer to grab me a new one. She just said "oh sorry" and quickly walked back to the bar. I sat there dumbfounded. My friends had a lot to say. I ate the part that wasn't wet. Man... What a disappointment. I can honestly say Taco Bell Mexican pizza is better. I wish we went anywhere else. Amy got sour cream on her food and she had initially asked for none. The bartender took it back and they did not make her new food. They scraped off the sour cream. Just perplexing. And such a bummer. Well, happy birthday to us I guess!
