    Pollo Al Pastor

Came here after visiting Old Sturbridge Village and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with interesting designs and decorations. It already gives a great first impression. Service is quick and the restaurant is very clean. The chips and salsa are the usual for what you expect with warm chips and refreshing salsa. The Pollo Al Pastor is a good size with amazing pineapple pico de gallo and nicely marinated chicken. You get only three tortillas so you mostly eat the dish with fork and knife after making tacos.

Food was delicious and came out quickly and hot! Birria tacos are so flavorful. Veggie tacos good too. Generous chips and salsa starter. Service was friendly and we didn't feel rushed. Pulling up, was confused because it's in a strip mall but was very pleasantly surprised. And the ambiance outside on a summer night can't be beat!

"What a great reception, all the people cried Who stole the groom and who stole the bride How did the countess slide underneath the door Why is the wild boy chopping up the floor?" (Richard Thompson) No doubt, our always perceptive Yelpers have figured out the link between Condesa and the lyrics - Condesa = Contessa in Spanish. Condesa has four locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The Sturbridge location is on the extreme left side of a big shopping plaza -look for the Shaw's Market and Ocean State Job Lot. The first thing you'll notice when you walk inside is the Día de (los) Muertos (Day of the Dead) artwork pretty much everywhere on the walls. They have two indoor dining rooms and a covered outdoors dining area, where we had our lunch on a beautiful summer day. Our server Moises was polite and friendly and started us off with a big portion of complimentary ships and salsa. The chips were fresh and still warm and the mildly spiced salsa was excellent. Our lunch was a TACO SALAD ($14) described on the menu as "Grilled chicken, mixed greens, fire roasted corn, Pico de Gallo, cilantro vinaigrette, queso fresco, and tortilla strips". It was served in one of those ubiquitous fried tortilla shells which I would have declined had I known it. I passed on the vinaigrette in favor of that great salsa for my dressing, and declined the queso, and tortilla strips. The grilled chicken was absolutely fantastic. It was pounded so thin, it had ended up being about the same size as the bowl it was served in. And whatever they used to season it was wonderful! Under that blanket of chicken were fresh greens, and a few sprinkles of corn and Pico. Adding their salsa as a dressing made it a winner of a meal. My wife ordered their CHICKEN QUESADILLA ($14). The four big wedges had a generous portion of grilled chicken and cheese, topped with sour cream, queso fresco, and Pico de Gallo. I sampled a forkful and loved the flavor and noticed a pretty generous layer of cheese in with the chicken. My club soda with two lemon wedges was $3. Service from Moises was OK, he was super pleasant when we interacted with us and when we asked for a water and salsa refill. All in all, our $33 after tax-before tip lunch was perfectly fine.

Amazing Mexican food spot. The menu isn't overwhelmingly large with options, which we appreciated. The salsa was refreshing and they gave me extra spicy salsa when I asked. The food was flavorful and came out very quickly. We were very impressed with the decor and service.

Went to Condesa in Sturbridge for a fundraiser supporting the Tantasqua Performing Arts students. We started with chips & salsa, then ordered the street corn -- definitely my favorite dish of the night! My friends had the shrimp tacos and avocado salad, while I went with the enchiladas. We wrapped up the meal by sharing the churros, which came with a delicious blueberry ice cream.

Was in the area with the hubby as he was in town for a work event for the week and we decided to try it out. Despite the location and in a Strip mall this place had a really good vibe & atmosphere, Service was great, Manager was super welcoming, friendly and a constant presence the whole night (In a good way) Food was great, options were plenty, Portions were great. Drinks were great. The Fajitas were fresh, the rice was delish & the Garlic shrimp was super flavorful, will definitely visit again when back in the area! Worth a stop in!

Selfishly I want to keep this to myself. But I do love the food. The restaurant is clean. The service is excellent. I will be back.

Visually this restaurant is very fun and festive with quirky dio de Los muertos art. Very spacious. And there's bar seating. So walking in there's definitely a wow-factor. Service was nice, helpful, and consistent without being overbearing. The food.. was mediocre. It seems like they were trying to elevate dishes with unnecessary ingredients, where it may have been trying to disguise taste. Tamales were dry and had little filling. Red rice was bland. Enchiladas were coated in a strange green sauce that was too pungent.. the only thing we really enjoyed were the chips, salsa & guac. Pricing was about $30 each with tip.

Stumbled upon Condesa as we were near Hartford one day. Let me start of by saying this place is huge, tons of seating everywhere and lot of decor on the walls ect, definitely gives off the Mexican vibes which I like. They start you off with chips and salsa which I repeat should be normalized. Chips were a little thicker almost the size of a Dorito, salsa was delicious, lots of flavor and a good starter. My wife started off with the tortilla soup which I also helped her with, very good. Had small pieces of cheese that went with the soup and was topped with chips, definitely a go to. For my entree I went with the Barbacoa tacos. Also I read from other Yelp review they had a homemade Habanero sauce which they did, let me tell you it had a good kick and excellent flavor, I even took the rest of it home since it was that good. My tacos were good size, slightly fatty pieces from the barbacoa but well seasoned. Could have used some fresh cilantro and maybe a lime to spruce it up. That was my wife's complaint with her pork carnitas as well, she still enjoyed them. Service was good, overall we would return!

The most ridiculous fish tacos I have ever seen. Nothing like they used to be had

Wow talk about 180 degree turn a round for the worse. The salsa used to be decent. Today it is either bottled or canned. The guacamole is also store bought (chunky avocado) with a whipped consistency and zero flavor. The menu changed; losing many tasty dishes. We ordered fried fish tacos that were so small; McDonalds snack wraps would tower over these fish nuggets (see photos). Overall, the experience was underwhelming and would certainly discourage us from ever returning. You can do so much better going to Mexicali.

This place is a hidden gem! First time there on 11/3. The margaritas are excellent! My wife and I both had tacos. I had the El Pastor, and my Wife had the chicken, both very tasty. We have to go back to try all the other items on the menu.

Quite a find on our way back from CNY holiday. Tired and hungry we stumbled across this little…read moretreasure in a strip mall behind where we were getting gas. The place is huge, on point cultural music (albeit loud- I'm old I like quieter) and the queer o meter is a perfect 10. Most excellent. The complimentary chips n salad were delicious. Thin, warm and lightly salted with just enough heat to the salsa and nice flavor. The rest is pretty straightforward- a chicken quesadilla that was jammed with cheese. It oozed out of the sides. And a steak fajita - both were very very good. The fajita had a great flavor, hot and piled high with peppers and onions. The steak slices were tender and delicious too - I will put out there that might be the only "con" it, in my opinion, could've done with 3 or 4 more slices of steak. However there is an epic amount of the peppers and onion which I 100% appreciate. Our waitress was so friendly and top notch. Accommodating and available without hovering. Food was delicious, service wonderful and atmosphere comfortable (sans loud music ha ha) The prices seem to be higher than other Mexican places - ie. The fajita was $21 and usually I'd venture to say that's the shrimp or combo cost, not steak or chicken. So overall they are about $3 higher. In the end I was fine with that bc it's really good and I would go back! Thank you El Patron Corona!! Cheers!

We were in the area and decided to check this place out for lunch. The ambiance is pleasant enough,…read moreand we were greeted nicely and seated immediately. I think this is the third restaurant to open in this specific space, the prior two didn't last very long. And based on our lvisit, I'm uncertain how long this place will be here. We ordered: RANCHO SAMPLER $17.99 Chicken taquitos, cheese quesadillas, Buffalo wings, and cheese mini nachos, with sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, scallions and ranchero cheese. QUESADILLA (with Chicken) $12.99 While we awaited our lunch orders, our very nice waitress brought us warm chips and salsa. These were very good, and probably what we liked most. We thought the sampler was bland, we liked the nachos best, and thought the Buffalo wings were terrible. They tasted burned. They were really dry (check out the photos). We asked for replacement wings and the waitress asked us (in broken English) to return the burned ones. She held out an empty plate and we picked up the burned wings, and gave them to her. About 5 minutes later she returned with wings that were cooked the same as the first batch. Perhaps some people like these types of wings, we certainly didn't. Maybe this place is more of a watering hole? Then again, maybe there are some other dishes that are better than those we tried. I think that question will remain unanswered, as I doubt we will return.
