Aye- i wanted to like this place because it is close to home. I'm sorry to write this but this meal was bad. Came tonight at 840. Empty lobby yet was told a 15-20 min wait. We sat down to wait and 30 seconds later our table was ready-hmmm. Ordered two blood orange margaritas-absolutely no booze or flavor. Ordered cheese dip and guacamole. The cheese dip came hot and it was good-piping hot. And then we waited and waited and waited. Where's the guacamole? Our meal comes out and then the guacamole- we ordered another cheese dip and a sangria. The second cheese dip was cold. I gave the sangria to my husband-one of the worst I've had. My husbands tacos were chopped up pieces of steak that represented dried jerky. I got the chicken tacos that were meh....no flavor. Waited for a water for 10 minutes. The best thing on the dish was the rice. I guess I will continue traveling to providence for better Mexican. read more

Hands down the best Mexican Restaurant in the area. Guacamole is always fresh, all the usuals are too notch (burritos, tacos, tamales). The steak fajita is amazing, so flavorful. Every time we have gone to Condesa, we have had the best experience. The portions are a great size, the prices are very reasonable, and the food and service are spectacular. went for dinner and there were a few things we did not like. First they are making the guacamole in the area right where you come in. when its busy people are hanging in this area and some coughing etc. which is not sanitary. next the tables on the bar side are so close that when the server is at the next table his butt is right in your face while you are eating. my meal was so soggy and salty I hardly ate any of it . the server came over and asked if I wanted to take it home and I told him I did not like it. you think they would have asked if I wanted something else. he just took the plate away. wont be visiting again. wasted 80.00.im from east Greenwich,ri not CA. read more

Great handling of a busy night error! On May 5th, probably their busiest night of the year, I ordered food online several hours in advance. I requested one pickup time, and got an email confirmation for a different time. Shortly before my requested time, I called to see what time was correct - turns out they were running extremely far behind, at 7pm only starting to fulfill orders that were supposed to be picked up at 5:30pm. That was too much, I didn't want to wait an extra 1.5-2 hours so I told them I wouldn't take my order. They apologized profusely and promised a phone call either later that night or the next day to issue a refund. As promised, they called later that night and told me their website crashed and the online orders didn't come through until basically the end of the night. Not sure if it was true, given the kitchen delay mentioned before, but regardless they called - apologized - and issued my refund. A few days later they called again, apologized again, and offered a discount on a future order. I wasn't expecting, or anticipating anything. I'm not surprised some smaller websites couldn't handle high volume, but given the current need for curbside and takeout, it's what everyone uses - no wonder their site crashed on such a crazy busy night. I am very impressed with the handling of the issue, and the extra methods and actions they took to make it right. We may not have been able to enjoy their food on May 5th, but now, because of their respectful handling methods, we'll definitely be enjoying it soon! read more

Not a great experience. I was completely ignored at the bar for a good 10 min until a man who I think was the manager came to serve me. They serve chips with 4 sauces which is nice but they put the sauces in a relish type tray. Each dish has a very small amount of sauce to the point that you can't dip a chip because the container is too small and there is so little sauce in it. I asked for more of a certain salsa and was brought the same container with a tiny bit of sauce on the bottom. I didn't forget to mention the chips were all smashed as they were obviously from the bottom of a bag. Fajitas were not on the menu which I thought was odd but they accommodated. I also asked for a side of guacamole. When they arrived there was no guacamole but after I asked again they brought a small side. Halfway through the meal, the bartender asked if he could take my margarita glass. I explained it was still half full and he argued with me telling me there was nothing left???? Let me be the judge. Then he asked to remove the water glass and I explained I was still drinking from it. Very odd. They give you three very tiny and not so good fajita shells. Not enough for the dinner. I got the bill and they charged $4 for guacamole. I assumed I would be charged but $4 seems a bit steep. I don't think I will be back although it was busy. I miss Agaves. read more

First time here tonight and I'm kicking myself for not trying it earlier! Me and my wife sat outside on the patio, we where greeted by a very sweet and enthusiastic server, she brought over chips and four different sauces (they give them out for free...awesome because I was starving) she took the time to explain each one because I have never been here before. She took our drink orders and our app and entrees at the same time. We had the chicken quesadilla as our app. It was huge, plated beautifully, and CRAZY GOOD! Buttery crispy crust, cheese perfectly melted, AWESOME pico di gallo! Chicken wasn't dry at all. I won't bore anybody reading this with our entree story but they where also VERY GOOD! By the time we where done a different server came to our table to ask if we were ready for the check. We asked if half credit half cash was okay? He replied "no...that's not ok. With a big smile" just made me like this place more! The staff is fun and work while having it. Our original server came back with the food we took home and wished us a good night. Awesome restaurant! Definitely coming back soon. read more

Called to make a 7:30 pm reservation and was confirmed over the phone. Friends got there early and was told everything was set. By 8:00 pm we still were not seated. I was under the impression they actually don't take reservations - not really sure what was going on, but no one checked in with us either. Quite frustrating! We visited this restaurant for the first time tonight. We were not disappointed. The food was tasty, fresh and just the right amount of spice. We started off with the complementary chips and salsa. We were a bit disappointed in the quantity of the salsas, but what we had was good. We then ordered the calamari, a bit spicy, but delicious. I also ordered the shrimp tacos and found them to be light and fresh. Delicious! My husband ordered molcajeta, a combo of beef, chicken chiorizo and shrimp, also very good. Was there with my husband last weekend. Parking was great as there is only one more restaurant in that plaza. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait which was fine. They did seem pretty busy. The lobby area seemed cramped but the inside was nice. The guacamole bar at the entrance was a concern with all the germs there! Maybe they can just move it to people's tables and have it done there if they order it? Once we were seated, the wait staff was wonderful. The hot chips with the different salsas were a nice touch. We had guacamole (fresh, spiced just right), quesadilla appetizer, tacos barbacoa and al pastor, enchiladas suizas and enchiladas mole. All cooked perfectly, great portions, spiced exactly as I would expect true Mexican food. Delicious Margaritas, classic Sangria and the biggest Modela I've ever seen! Our service was impeccable - our waiter was not only friendly, timely and helpful with menu choices, he was quite handsome and charming. (My daughter in law and I appreciated that!) Went here for the first time today and loved everything from the food, service and atmosphere! I got the chicken tortilla soup and the tamales which were extremely flavorful/yummy. My boyfriend got a michelada and Mexican burger and didn't leave a bite behind he loved it as well. We were served chips with 3 different salsas and beans when we were seated, our favorite was the mild salsa. Our waiter and busser were kind, warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. The owner came out to ask how everything was and really cared about his restaurant and customers. Outdoor and indoor seating is offered.
