I recently had the military arrange for this company to handle the relocation of my household belongings. Having moved 12 times in the past 17 years, I can confidently say this was the smoothest and most impressive move I've ever experienced. My building required a million-dollar insurance policy, which the company promptly provided without delay. For the first time ever, they sent more than two movers to my home--enough crew members to wrap everything with care, supply ample hanger boxes, and make the transition so seamless that it barely felt like I'd left my old place when they set everything up again. They assigned what I believe was their top-tier crew to the job. The team was not only friendly and respectful but also adhered meticulously to every HOA regulation at my new residence. They took extra precautions, covering all carpets along the route up to my eighth-floor unit. The crew came equipped with multiple dollies and specialized box carts, efficiently transporting five or six boxes at a time. Remarkably, my ultra-thin OLED TV survived the move without a single crack or scratch--another first for me. Not a mark was found on any of my furniture either. They were punctual for packing, loading, and delivery, keeping the entire process on schedule. While I can't speak to other reviews, the team that handled my move was, in my view, the company's finest. I also appreciated their thoughtfulness toward my family--I have a baby and a nursing wife, and the crew thoughtfully designated safe zones in the house, leaving those areas undisturbed until the end. This allowed me to sleep in my own bed the night before the move, with the beds packed up conveniently on moving day itself. I sincerely hope they maintain this level of service for all their customers, and I'd love for my exceptional experience to become the standard reflected in reviews for this company. I think this company would be next level if all crew was provided uniforms, gloves handling clothes etc . Last summer as part of my move I requested quotes from 4 companies to pack up everything in our home and assist us moving a few miles away. The companies I contacted either did a Skype walkthrough or came and did a physical inspection of the contents of my home. After reviewing all the quotes had with my interaction with their lead sales person, along with a strong recommendation from a realtor who has been using them for years, I went with Conejo Valley Moving & Storage. They were very accommodating with my situation along with a change in pack and move dates. On the day scheduled, they arrived at 9am, and I went over the details with the team leader, and we left the to do their work. I came back around 3:45 and they were about 80% done at that point and at 4pm, they told me that they were done and they would finish when they came back for the day of the move. That day came, and they arrived on-time with a team of movers and told the that they should be done loading by 2pm. They didn't finish loading until around 4:00 and they left. When I saw the mess they left at my old location and items left I was appalled. They left items that were to be moved, they left a chandelier taped up so it would be out of their way, plus a mess. Once they arrived at our new location after an hour, one of the movers I asked to put his mask on and he told me it was too hot and did I want him to sweat all over my contents? The move in took about 4 hours, and when during the move in I noticed our large marble outdoor table in pieces in the back. They had issues getting some furniture to the second story, and they were too tired to complete getting some of the furniture that that were able to get upstairs, up there. They movers were arguing with each other throughout the move and left a mess of their own after they left. I spoke with the GM and he stated he would meet with my wife the next day at the old house because of a couple of rooms they left there, but he ghosted us and was never to be heard from again. We did speak with one the their corporate employees who did come out to see the mess they left at the new house and the numerous items broken or not moved correctly. He asked me for my paperwork, which I had the original estimate, but no other paperwork was every presented to me from the time they arrived to pack us to the time they left after the move. The corporate representative admitted they did not do the job they were hired for, but they did a horrible job doing it. From there it was a fight to get properly compensated for the items broken and or the new furniture we had to purchase because of their laziness. After 6 months we received a check for not the full value of our issues, but they expected the full amount of their moving estimate. The did not go out of their way to take care of our experience and hid behind their insurance company and the state regulations, but remember I never signed a thing after accepting their proposal. I absolutely recommend Conejo Valley for moving. The reason I give them 5+ rating is their customer service follow up by Daniella who continued working with Mayflower to get us back a refund when Mayflower overcharged us. (Others would have simply stopped responding in this industry but Conejo valley was very honest on their end) We moved interstate from CA to Washington and when I contacted Mayflower they assigned Conejo Valley Moving. They were quick and the move was seamless, the movers at both Los Angeles and Seattle were very good, courteous and friendly. Our items were delivered on time on scheduled date. This is where I give 5+ for Daniella. After we paid for the move, the very next day Mayflower sent us an invoice for approx. $1000 more (for an extra container). As we sold most of the items during the quote survey we did not end up transporting everything but Mayflower headquarters decided to overcharge us. Daniella at Conejo moving continued to work with Mayflower and not only did she correct the overcharge but she helped get us a refund. This is really good customer dedicated company. Predatory business practices at Unigroup and United Van Lines and their local agent, Conejo Valley Moving and Storage/Blue Chip, flows from top down and even reaches to the receptionists answering calls. Do not use United Van Lines or their local agent Conejo Valley Moving and Storage if you value your belongings, your departure home, or your destination home. Our move in June 2022 was one headache after another because we trusted United Van Lines since we have had positive moves with them in the past. Conejo Valley Moving and Storage use their affiliation with United Van Lines to get business, then destroy your belongings, and slap you in the face on their way out. The movers and packers were unprofessional to say the least. Their packing crew only packed our home for a few hours, leaving over 50% unpacked. After multiple discussions with the sales person, one packer showed up on the day of the move who threw items in boxes without any packing materials, resulting in damaged and shattered items. The movers incessantly bickered and argued while disassembling and moving our furniture. Their hostilities got worse as they broke multiple pieces of our furniture. When the disaster that was our move finally came to an end, we were forced to initial and sign a one-page paper with an illegible font size. We objected signing multiple times as we could not read the document. The female mover forcefully stated that she and the two male movers who remained with her would not leave until the document had been signed, pushing the paper over to us and pointing her pen tip to the areas requiring our signature. We had three strangers in our house demanding at 8:00 PM PST to sign a document we cannot read - predatory business practices. They absolutely do not care about the damages they caused. They have a one woman show claims person in Louisiana, but we are sure she is not there. None of our calls to her number connects, and the recording from the phone company states the international call cannot be completed. International? Last we checked, Louisiana hasn't seceded from the Union and become its own country. More likely someone overseas handling their claims with some forwarding call going on. It took this so called company over a week to pick up our certified letter. Calls and emails to the company owner, Dennis Doody, have gone unanswered. It sure looks like he is avoiding contact with clients just like the claims adjuster. We even contacted United Van Lines. They say all the right things but refuse to do anything to remedy the situation they contributed to putting us in. It is apparent Unigroup, United Van Lines, Blue Chip, and Conejo Valley Moving and Storage have complete disregard for their customers and for righting the wrongs they have caused. read more

First off I want to tell everyone NEVER USE A BROKER TO BOOK MOVERS!!! and NEVER USE THIS MOVING COMPANY! I called United Van Lines who turned out to be Blue Chip Moving who ended up contract with Conejo Valley Moving. The original guy at Blue Chip quoted the estimate wrong. I called Conejo Valley 2 days in a row to make sure they understood that I had more boxes then originally said, they knew I had a 3 bedroom home and was also moving my business as well. I was told they were sending a 26 footer and on the day of my move a 10' x 16' shows up, the size for an apartment! They movers decide to stuff it all in this truck and of course it doesn't all fit. I made them call their boss who argued with me over the estimate instead of being accommodating and refused to send a bigger truck and even went so far to lie to me and said he would then tells his movers to put the bed on the outside of truck. Needless to say my stuff still didn't fit causing me to make extra trip back to the house to pick up my stuff. They caused me so much stress and what would of took 1.5 hours to pack the right size truck to 5 hrs because they had to spend so much time configuring how to pack it. I had people waiting in my new location all day. What a "DEBACLE' I do give credit to the movers though for doing the best they could, especially Danny under the circumstances that their boss is an a-hole who told them he didn't have a bigger truck and to just do it. Do not believe them when they tell you that under no circumstance will you pay more for your move than what they quote you. Don Walta told me my quote was guaranteed but they still hit me with extra fees after my move, even though I was under the weight on my quote and should of gotten a refund. If they were honest and said I might have additional fees for packing I wouldn't be mad, but I was guaranteed that price and was overcharged a few hundred dollars. Not worth it to upset a customer who just paid $8200 to make an extra $270. When I need to move again I will be looking elsewhere. Be upfront next time. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would. They hire professionals for your first move, but your drop location will be druggies from the street. They break your items while they're off loading them and then the claims process is a joke. After shopping around amongst the locals, this was by far the lowest price which made me a little suspicious that something was going to go terribly wrong. Nope. Their estimate was right on the money and as promised - their estimate was the highest the price would go. I wasn't charged a dime above it. I can't speak highly enough about the professionalism of this group. We recently moved from two houses into one and they handled the packing and moving for both places with great care. When I got mixed up on the dates, they scrambled and made things happen to fit my schedule, even though it was my error. They gave clear and accurate binding quotes which were very reasonable. I had a great experience with this company for my studio-size move from CA to DC. I worked with Don Walta, who was very kind and patient with me. The movers moved all of my belongings across the country, without breaking or losing anything. The price was competitive (I interviewed a lot of different reps from different companies), and the two guys who loaded my stuff into the container (Peter and Robert) made a miracle happen by squeezing all of my stuff in. I didn't have to leave anything behind--they were that good at fitting everything perfectly within the limited space of the container. I was so impressed, as it was not an easy task. Plus, on the East Coast everything went very smoothly and they brought everything up to my apartment. Since I had a very positive experience, I would recommend this company to anybody. read more

This company was recommended to me, so I didn't shop around. Now, I wish I had. They stacked box upon box. Some were so heavy I could barely take them down to unpack. Once my move was over and I was able to go through things, I realized later that they stole some of my stuff. I had a store bag with brand new towels, wash cloths, etc. for my new home. Saw them put it on the truck, but it never made it to my new house. I had a hand-truck that is also gone missing. They broke a recycle bin and an Oak storage cart. I purchased the extra insurance, however, they wouldn't cover the missing items. They said I had to prove they were on the truck and now missing. How exactly would one do that, after the fact? The broken items cost less to replace than the insurance deductible. All in all, my advice is "beware"! read more

Used them in 2010. They were S....L....O....W....., plus exceeded the not to exceed estimate amount even though I had fewer items than estimated since I got rid of the largest pieces of furniture prior. On top of that only one mover showed up for the first couple hours. When a second came I think he was friends with the other and did not carry anything heavy. The main guy did all the work. Both guys were disappearing most of the time, (they said the bathroom) I thought they had irritable bowel issues, but now I suppose they saw such few things to move and wanted to go past the minimum time. The only reason I give them more than 1 star is because they did not ding things too badly. Bad experience, I'll never use them again. read more

DO NOT USE!! These people are criminals. I trusted this company with 3 moves. They broke a couple of things on the 1st move and the claims dept, who is an outside agent of Mayflower was rude and nasty. Not so nice when your things are broken. But, I used them again. At 2nd time, they overcharged me 860.00. When my things left my apt in Bellevue, Wa everything was in 2 crates. The manager of the Wa location that picked up my load, even verified with me and my boyfriend that my things would be in 2 crates. That they were able to save me money. I even witnessed this. So, between Bellevue and Denver, somehow my couch ended up in a box that cost $860.00. This was on Nov 5, 2021. I paid with my credit card. This is important. I had another move in Jan 2022. Jan 12, 2022, to be exact. Somehow, the payment didn't get processed and my load got delivered. I never received the link for the credit card payment. Remember that $860.00 that they charged me for on Nov 5, 2021. Well, I am now asking why I still haven't received any answers about that. As a matter of fact, to date, the VP has never even returned my call. So, I have my stuff and they didn't send the link for me to send my credit card information to pay and now Don Walta is blowing up my phone. I could even get an answer from him about the $860.00 for a box that no one consulted me on. Would anyone pay 860.00 for a box? Funny, now they are eager to call me. But, they have no interest in discussing the 860.00 cardboard box charge or any of the items that are smashed and broken that were delivered on January 12, 2022. So instead of being an honest and legitimate businessman, what does DON WALTA do - he goes in and runs my credit card from Nov 5, 2021, for this charge in January 2022 without my permission, signature, etc. This is a Federal offense. Merchants ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RETAIN CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO BE USED AT LATER DATES. What is so horrible about this person is that he didn't even give me the opportunity to pay him legitimately. He decided, not even 48 hours later to violate the law, at a local and federal level and commit credit card fraud. Do not do business with these people. The police are involved and investigating this business and the Federal Trade Commission has been notified, as it is highly illegal to keep copies of consumers' credit card information. And, to then just help themselves to it. Unreal ! Now, I can't even pay a bill until the criminal aspect is completed. Which, I just wanted a fair and honest conversation about. First, it takes them 2 days to get certification insurance, so we almost missed moving date... 2nd 3 people just left and quite their job half way through the day, 3rd the guy hands me a paper at the end of the day and says sign or we will have to take everything out of the truck and put it back in the house, and last when they deliver they just simply ignored inventory checked and unboxed and threw stuff all over the place in rush to get out... They did not actually do my move, but here is why I'm writing a review. I had some very specific requests and a very specific timeline that I needed to be followed. Plus, I was making these requests during peak season. I spoke with Joe, who I believe is the owner. He was very upfront with me. He told me he had to check on some things, and that he would get back to me. He got back to me promptly. In response to my requests, he was straightforward and honest that he could not guarantee meeting my timing needs. He did not give me the runaround, and dodge my questions the way all the other movers have. Similarly, he did not put any pressure on me or try to sell himself to me. All of the other movers did that too. I would feel comfortable calling him again in the future. Here is why. Typically a good product or service sells itself, and an inferior product or service needs someone to pitch it to the customer. Great Experience!! I would use them again without a doubt. The move was done on the timeframe specified, under budget, with no lost or broken items and their personnel were a pleasure to work with. The move was a local move (one part of the LA area to another part). The move was arranged long distance. The estimator came in, was personable, professional and courteous. Their estimate was a little more than half what two other moving companies were going to charge. The final bill came in under the estimate. The actual movers, John and Troy, introduced themselves to us and were a pleasure to deal with; they were professional, courteous, personable, careful with all the items to be moved, they worked fast and efficiently, and added some humor at some stressful times. (Moving a parent into a retirement home, no matter how good the home, can be a stressful event and their humor eased some of the tension). I have moved a number of times and a move without problems is a rarity, but from my perspective they took a lot of effort to prevent any problems. Great job!! read more

I contacted Conejo Moving and Storage about 3 weeks prior to our move. Don was wonderful and was able to accommodate us for a quote for a move and storage right away. He came over with his ipad and we walked him through our home and showed him all that was going to be moved and stored. He typed everything in, emailed me a quote and walked me through it all after about 10 minutes. I am a very organized person so was very excited and impressed by their software. I booked them the next day for our move. When they came to move us, they were on time, very nice and super quick. We moved out of a 3 bedroom tri-level town home and they were able to get everything out in about 3 hours. The actual cost was less then the appraisal, which was even more impressive. They were very professional and courteous about everything. They will be storing our "home" for the next few months so once we move into our new home I will do an "update" but for now...I am impressed and would recommend CVM&S for sure! read more

It sounds crazy, but we have had to move 4 times in the last 5 years. A household of 4 people and never less than 2000 sq. feet of stuff! All four times, we used Conejo Valley Moving and Storage. All four times, fantastic! Joe, one of the owners, was the lead on our last move... he was the most professional, easy-to-work-with mover ever. He brought the A team! A smart, fast-moving group of guys who worked hard all day. Tips from someone who does this a lot: 1) Pack well! The more loose, unpacked items you have, the longer it takes. 2) Label every box with the location you want it to go in your new house. Saves time. 3) Try to get wardrobe boxes and load in advance of the morning of move. 4) If you are doing a local move, have clean sheets for all beds ready. It's the thing you do not want to be looking for when you are ready to collapse at the end of the long day. Keep travel toiletries handy too. 5) Cold water and Gatorade goes a long way! Put in fridge or cooler for all to help themselves. 6). Aim for nothing for you to do but provide direction and support for moving team. GOOD LUCK! read more

My loading date was 5/23-5/24 to be delivered 5/25-6/1 received a call from my coordinator on 5/24 telling me that my load would be delivered 5/25 so we loaded everything on the truck with the exception of some clothes hygiene products etc to last for a couple of days .I called my coordinator on the morning of 5/25 to see what time to expect our delivery she told me it was 6/1 i was furious I asked what happened she said what do you mean your contract said delivery was to be 5/25-6/1. I said what about the phone call I received from you telling me since I was the only delivery on the truck it would be there 5/25? She lied to me and said she never told me that. No apology or there was a misunderstanding or anything like that .So here we are in my new home out of state with practically nothing. Even my granddaughter's brithday gifts where on the truck, try telling a 4 year old she won't be geting any presents on her brithday .I talked to Don Walta he said he would try to do something. So then he called and said that 5/31was the best he could do, what can I do I said OK, then he called me and said he made a mistake and delivery was set for 6/1. Me and my family of nine had to go buy enough clothes, hygiene products etc etc to get us through the week. When my goods were finally there, their were some expensive things damaged. I called my coordinator didn't want to but I had to get information about contacting the insurance company to file a claim and she told me she would text and email me the information for the insurance company and if she could do anything to call her. Well, it's been almost 3 weeks andI haven't herd anything yet. I will have to dig through my paper work to find information about the insurance company. The loaders did a fantastic job even though there was not enough of them. Truck driver just dropped off the trailer then showed up the last hour or so and told everyone to hurry up.The unloaders also did a fantastic job they worked extra hard including the truck driver. Used this company for cross country move. Horrible experience. Bashed a hole in the wall while packing that we had to fix so that escrow could close. We had them pack expensive and fragile items. Several irreplaceable items broken or damaged. They even tried to cover up breakage by gluing leg back on to an antique chair so we wouldn't notice. When unloading on the east coast boxes labeled fragile and top load were stacked too high and crushed, breaking items inside. Left items belonging to another customer with us, even after bringing to their attention. Broke furniture when reassembling at destination. Would never use these folks again. read more

What a mistake I made hiring them. When I called them their yelp rating was a 4 but after I had my experience I wondered if I even called the right company. Everything went smoothly until my moving date. They showed up almost an 1.5 hours late and there was no one to answer my calls to give me an ETA. They looked hung over when they finally showed, one guy even had white crust on the edges of his mouth signs of partying. They didn't look like a professional moving company. My neighbors thought I hired them off the street and rented a truck. The truck they used did not say United on it. They forgot my wardrobe boxes as well and to make matter worse, they moved as slow as molasses. The move should have been about 5 hours tops. The last time I moved I used Meathead Movers and it took about 4.5 hours so I have a ball park time figure to work with. I had only been in that home 12 months so it's not like I accumulated a lot of new items to account for the drastic increase in move time. Well this time it took 8.5 hours and that is with me telling them just to leave everything in the garage; otherwise, they would have been working until midnight. They broke items as well. After the move, the head mover wanted me to sign a blank invoice without the total written in because it was his first time doing it and he didn't know how to complete the form. I did not feel comfortable doing that so I told him to have his manager call me. I bought them lunch because I felt bad for them. They didn't seem to take a break and I thought maybe it would give them energy to move faster. It didn't. Well the next morning I find out that they left their trash from the lunch I bought them on the street along with the remains of some of the drinking glasses they broke. Our new neighbors threw the trash onto our driveway out of anger. That is NOT how I wanted to start my relationship with my new neighbors. I called the sales guy Don that I worked with the next morning to complain and their manager called me back. They acted like they were appalled about what took place. When the manager came over the next day to have me sign the invoice they didn't even offer me a discount for what I had to endure. What a terrible way to rectify a situation. I asked for a discount and I got a whole 10%. My advice is go elsewhere, I thought some of the bad complaints on yelp where isolated incidents but I learned the hard way that it is not. read more
