Went here for the first time last Sunday for an early dinner. We were one of three tables in the dining area. I appreciated how quiet it was and how nicely spaced out the tables were. I hate when I feel like other diners are sitting right on top of you. The menu was great, lots to choose from. My husband got a steak and I did a burger. Both were perfectly done and we got them with fries which were delicious! The wait staff was friendly and quick with drinks and refills. They weren't overwhelming with questions and pushiness. There was music playing lightly, it was a nice touch and the right volume. It was also a great playlist or whatever it was... Classic rock! We will definitely return and look forward to trying more off of the menu! read more

Was at brunch this past Sunday, I was very disappointed, the omelet and beef carving station were on a small table and you had to wait in line since the same person was serving both, the only lunch item was scalloped potatoes and the beef which you couldn't get to without quite a long wait, they did have salad but the dressings were not marked as to what they were, most of the food they had was not marked as to what it was...........definitely not worth $19.95. The only dessert item was chocolate chip cookies and what looked like cut up fruit from a can, chocolate which was not hot with marshmallows and bread cubes..... I should have stayed home! read more

We have been here previously and had a nice time. However, we arrive today for a family dinner to celebrate a late Christmas as my son who is in the Navy was home on leave. My father was in town from Massachusetts and we took him here to have a nice dinner. We order and find out after they have no steak. We re-order,now an hour later, and select a chicken dish. Waitress returns to tell us they have no chicken either. Talk to the the owner Tom and he says sorry this is unexplainable but didn't seem to be that upset Maybe he was several wines deep at the time. We left the poor waitresses a $20 tip as she was in tears. Will not return. Terrible that this had to happen. read more

Tried this place out last night and was pleasantly surprised. There was a nice ambiance with the enclosed patio seating and candles. Wine was reasonably priced and the menu had a lot to choose from. They had a lobster florentine filet special that night and it was amazing. Worth every penny the $26 price. I'm definitely going to have to try that recipe myself. read more

I went there for the first time yesterday. I didn't sit in the rest. side, only the bar side. The bartender was very sweet and the capt and cokes are only $3.75. There were football games on the tv's and nascar, and the special was Mussels for $1.75. We ordered them expecting not so much do to the price, but they were EXCELLENT!!!!! I'll def be going back there. I saw the menu and yes the food seems a little pricey, but if it's worth it to find something clever and unusual to eat, I'm in!!! read more

Went for the easter sunday all you can eat buffet for 25 dollars per person. The food was all cold and I found a very large hair embedded into one of the shrimp. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is outdated, overpriced, and has awful food. Stay away! read more

We are here for my boyfriends birthday- decided to splurge a little on the filet-it was delicious and our server Julie was great! They sang happy birthday even though we didn't order dessert- the steaks were done perfectly and we enjoyed everything! Can't wait to try the brunch sometime! read more

Pretty good food. I ordered a Haddock Melt and it was delicious. I lived in Florida for 13 years and this fish sandwich is comparable to some down there. I was pleasantly surprised. Good food... Good prices. Ill be ordering again and be giving the blue crab a try. read more

This was our second trip...we had carry-out this time. The second time around was not as stellar of an experience. We ordered a Surf & Turf, Broiled Seafood Platter, and Crab Dip. First, I had to pick up the order in an extremely smokey part of the restaurant (the Pub)...Secondly, I realized when I got home they missed the cheesy scalloped potatoes and it was way too far of a drive to go and pick them up...Third, the crab cake had a ton of cartilage in it-- I eat crabcakes regularly that have the jumbo lump crab just like this one and there is NEVER that much extra stuff in those cakes- I think they did an absolutely poor job of cleaning the meat. Lastly, the brussel sprouts tasted like they were out of a can and not fresh-- I have never had "fresh" ones like these before. Our bill for two of us was nearly $90 for carry-out, I have no problem paying that for an exceptional meal...this one was not. A few good notes-- the food was hot when we arrived home, the chocolate raspberry butter is awesome and they gave us an extra one because I asked....the steak was cooked to perfection as was the lobster tail. The crab dip was delicious, just as before. Honestly, I am not sure if we will go back again--there are some good things, but I think there are so many other restaurants that do it right for that price...we don't have to take the risk with this one. read more

What a great find! My husband and I are avid cooks and are always on the lookout for restaurants that meet our expectations! This place more than exceeded our expectations! We visited for lunch and were pleasantly surprised on their lunch specials! We ordered eggplant parmesean and a crab cake. My husband is Italian and very particular about his Italian food! The parmesean was delicious! The garlic bread was to die for! The crab cake was made with fresh crabmeat and no filler. So good! The salad had fresh croutons! My health condition limits my food choices. This place is very clean eating, I had no reactions due to my food intolerances. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The staff was personable! The portions were very generous! We will be returning to the Conewago Inn and recommending it to our family and friends! We have found a new date place. read more

my wife and i had a wonderful experience. we came not knowing what to expect. we went in the bar entrance and quickly realized that we were not in the dining part of the inn. we went back out and found the front door, which i don't think you are really suppose to use but we got in and got a table. we sat on the sun porch. it was very bright and warm for a mid april day. our waiter was great! we felt very welcomed and he did a great job throughout the meal. the prices are on the high side but you really do get good portions. we weren't in the mood for a huge meal so we ordered three different appetizers and dessert. we tried their wings, crab dip, and fresh made deep fried mozzarella. they also brought out some rolls with their house made black raspberry chocolate butter. the wings were very good. they made their own blue cheese but i didn't really care for it. the flavor reminded me of tarter sauce. the crab dip was outstanding. there was a large pile of crab meat setting right on top of the dip. the rolls that came with it were soft and warm and very but i don't remember if they said they made them fresh. the mozzarella was probably the thing we enjoyed the most. you can't beat fresh made mozzarella. when it came time for dessert they brought the ones they had available to the table. once they informed us that they made them all in house we were sold. my wife got the creme brulee and i had the peanut butter pie. both were out of this world. at one point during the night one of the owners came to our table to greet us and talk to us. she was very pleasant and friendly. while enjoying our dinner we suddenly heard some singing over to our left. the owners were singing to someone for their birthday. it was so light hearted and fun. it really made the past feel homey and like everyone knew one another. we will keep this place in our mind for our next special night read more

This place truly is a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough! My husband and I came here for the second time ever last week, and just as I remembered it.... beautiful as ever inside, and amazing food & service. First thing that really stuck out to me was how knowledgeable our server (Jena) was, she was extremely helpful and took the time to answer each of our questions in depth. She was able to describe the entrees in the most detailed manner, she had both of our mouths watering. So, needless to say it BLEW MY MIND when she informed us later in our meal that she'd only been working there for such a brief amount of time! The food was delicious, I got the broiled crab cake and it was simply perfect. My husband got a filet mignon and that too was just mouth watering and grilled to perfection. Dessert was icing on the cake, literally. I don't believe we could have had any better of an evening and we will be back! My friend worked as a bartender here and she was the best bartender there! They got rid of her because she couldn't work 4 days on,4 days off! She is a single mom with a teenager and this schedule will not work for her!! This is how they treat their employees! I will never step foot in there again! My husband and I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and we're looking for a place to call our regular for special times out. This will not be the place. For appetizers, I ordered the fried mozzarella and my husband got the crab dip. The mozzarella basically had no flavor and one of the pieces was still a bit frozen in the middle. The marinara sauce was strangely sweet, so I wouldn't order this again. My husband did like the crab dip though. I ordered a broiled crab cake for dinner along with a baked potato and the asian green beans. The potato was fine though a little overcooked, and I could barely eat the beans. I like soy sauce, but these were served in such a thick reduction that it was totally overpowering. I kept scraping off the sauce so that I could eat some of the veggies. The crab cake wasn't good at all. I'm from Baltimore, so maybe my standards are too high, but there just wasn't much flavor. I actually had to put a little salt on it. There were big pieces of lump crab meat, but it seemed like there was no binder at all. The result was an incredibly wet and creamy cake. It seemed like it was totally mayonnaise and not much else. Where I come from, crab cakes have mayo, mustard, a little bit of cracker crumbs, and of course Old Bay seasoning. I didn't taste or see any Old Bay, and that's just not a crab cake to me. My husband ordered the crab stuffed trio, and since everything is stuffed with the same crab as the crab cake, he had the same issue. Way too wet and no flavor. His fish was good, but the lobster tail was totally undercooked. The chef recooked it and sent him a second one since he messed up the first time. He ordered the rice and scalloped potatoes, and said that the rice was fine, but the potatoes were very greasy, so he didn't eat them. Finding the right door to enter through was a challenge, but since the restaurant was practically empty, we had our choice of seats. We ended up on the porch with a couple of tables with incredibly loud people who apparently thought we wanted to hear every bit of their conversation. I had high hopes for this restaurant based on previous reviews, but I doubt that we'll go back. Maybe for the breakfast buffet, but that's probably it. So our search for a consistently good steak and seafood restaurant continues. read more

come on now....i use to go there for years and really liked the place. i suggest you never never never order anything that is not on the seafood menu. we went and ordered a non seafood plate from the specials and it was not good at all. the staff use to be freindly and now this time they acted like we were a bother to them. they take care of the customers who are their regulars and seem to not pay much attention to the customer that they dont know on a first name basis which i find very rude. when she ask how the dinner was and we told her that we didnt care for the slection she recommends from the specials she had no comment didnt ask why just sat the bill on our table and walked away. i have never been treated in this manner at any rest. i ask to speak to the ower or manager and was told he was not in. we paid and left and will never be back again! read more
