You can find this place by looking for the big cow outside the front entrance. COWS is a local ice cream shop using PEI milk, and they've been making ice cream for over 40 years. Since we had kids, we were stuck with chocolate ice cream, but it was a great texture, not too sweet. 2 scoops is only $2 more than 1 scoop, so you have to get a double! The waffle cones are also made in house. You can get pints to go (freezer bags available), and the store also has lots of cows merchandise, which is fun!

The cinnamon rolls were quite dry and not enough ooey gooey cinnamon, butter and sugar filling. The frosting doesn't quite melt either. It was only when you got to the center was when the cinnamon rolls were soft with filling. The other parts are just dry and flavorless. The long John was also underwhelming. They used the same frosting as the cinnamon rolls inside the long John. I guess I'm used to more of a custard filling. Sadly, I'm still in search of a great cinnamon roll in Whistler.

Although they are famous for their cinnamon buns we opted to try their crêpes and got one each from their sweet and savoury options: "Breakfast" savory crepe which includes egg, Black Forest ham, mozzarella and balsamic glaze. I dunno but it was a bit too salty for my taste. "NSB" for the sweet crepe: Nutella, strawberry, banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Now this was yummy! The shop itself has tons of options and is fun to visit, but I wish the flavors I tried had a stronger, more distinct taste.

The gelato was so creamy and smooth. Every spoonful was better than the last. The branding was fun and had a chicness to it. My favorite touch to the gelato cup was the wafer that had their logo branded onto it. What a smart marketing moment in my opinion. Service was respectable and approachable. I ordered the dark chocolate, one of their vegan flavors, since I cannot digest dairy well. It looked so dark, rich, and lovely being scooped into the cup. But the taste, well, it was cloyingly sweet. So sweet that I could not finish it. I had my hubs taste it and he said, it tastes like frozen chocolate syrup. He was spot on. It's too bad because I've had vegan chocolate gelato and sorbetto at other shops and it's been good, but Motoretta's version just did not hit the mark. Still, I am giving them three stars because the shop was bright, cheery, and clean, and my hubs liked his blood orange sorbetto and black sesame gelato.

I ordered a cone with salted caramel and coconut and while I enjoyed both, the salted caramel was pretty much perfect. The coconut was a little on the fruity side, but it grew on me as I made my way through it. The initial bites could have just been a bit odd due to the transition of coming off salted caramel. We walked back to our hotel in the cold and rain, which is not ideal gelato eating weather, but it tasted great enough that we were happy anyway.
