This little tiny, tucked out of the way cafe is kinda cool. There's only a half dozen tables in it. The staff are laid back, polite and friendly. The menu is all about comfortable food. The breakfast menu concentrates on eggs, pancakes etc. They offer about 6 different versions of eggs Benedict. I recommend the Lulu Benedict. It's spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado on English muffins with poached eggs (2) on top and a delicious hollandaise sauce with a large hash brown on the side. Prices are very reasonable. To find a restaurant that has all parts of their service dialed in during the eve-changing posr Covid landscape of CA is amazing. We had our daughter and pups and sat out front but they have a beautiful back patio we will aim at next time. I had the LuLu Beny and added Ham so it turned in to a classic beny plus mush, tomato and spinach and my wife had the calufornia turkey sandwich with a ranch salad. Arrghhhh, I REALLY wanted to love this place but alas, I could not. One morning, my husband and I wanted to try someplace new for breakfast. We've done all the cafes in Oceanside where we live and were in Vista for some errands, so I Yelped for something close by and found Connie's. I was excited based on the stellar reviews. Located in a parking lot caddy-corner to RBV, Connie's is tucked away next to a martial arts studio. There isn't a whole lot of seating and there was a small group of people waiting outside for a table, which we took as a good sign. We quickly scored an outside table and ordered - a classic eggs benedict for me, and an all-American style plate for my husband of sausage, eggs, toast and fruit. Almost every time I try a new breakfast joint, I order the eggs benedict - it's like a test. If they can make an excellent eggs benny with perfectly soft boiled eggs smothered in creamy, tangy hollandaise, they pass with flying colors in my book. That's what I was hoping for. Instead my eggs arrived slightly undercooked - I found extra runny whites mixing with my yolks, and the hollandaise was just awful. What I assume was the grease from the Canadian bacon mixed with the sad hollandaise turned the English muffin at the bottom of the pile into mush. I ate half of one of the benny's and left the rest of the plate untouched. Waste of money. My husband's breakfast was better received than mine - the sausage was pretty good, over hard eggs done well, and the rye toast that was suggested by our server was delicious. On the plus side, our server was SO sweet. She was definitely the highlight of our visit, despite sharing the busy breakfast rush with just one other server she truly made an effort to make us feel welcomed in our brief interactions. Maybe we'll come back for another visit and try something totally different suggested by other Yelpers - but I certainly won't go for the eggs benedict again, that's one mistake I'm not willing to waste more money on. read more

Hubby and I rated it the same (phone app not letting me add a 1/2 a star more) It would've been perfect if it opened earlier-opens at 8:00am. Happy to meet Connie! The first time I came here I ordered a simple cheese omelette to-go. More recently I took the time to come in and sit down for a leisurely brunch and I am so glad that I did. This time around I chose the Lulu's Benedict and could lot have been more pleased. The yolks were perfectly poached, all the veggies were well seasoned and fresh and I must admit, this may have been the best hollandaise I've ever tasted. It had the perfect ratio of butter, lemon and cayenne and was creamy and unbelievably decadent. It's a small place (less than 10 tables indoors), Connie greeted us with a smile and were quickly seated and drinks ordered.
