I have been in CC at least a dozen times and never NOT been greeted or had a friendly conversation with employees. Their accessories are ON POINT and the clothing, while not all elite brands, are current styles and very lightly used if at all. My biggest problem is finding something amazing that is not my size, but that just makes the eventual score that much more delish. The new remodel looks amazing and you can't miss the store front. If you are emotionally attached to your clothes, the consigning process can be difficult because they probably won't take everything, but keep in mind that they know what they need and ultimately it will save you a trip back to pick up unsold items (unless you donate). AND if you are looking for something specific, but it's out of the way, you can always call and they will help over the phone! Plus, their social media is amazing and you can buy to ship. read more

Wow.. I had my own personal shopper and she did excellent! She went right to the 50% off and I walked out of there with 3 blouses for 31.00! And a fine sexy assortment it was. Some days I have to take my relaxation where I can get it, i.e. as in visiting shops like Consign Couture. I saw it almost flash by as I rode the bus, but I grabbed the ringer cord and got off at the next stop and walked back to the store. It was well worth it! Were the sign not in the window of Consign Couture, you might think it was one of the many cute small bungalows seen so often around St. Johns. Inside it's been stripped down in a manner allowing there to be lots of quality items available. Shoes, jewelry (beautiful and handmade), purses, scarves, leggings, and other accessories sort of ring the outside and then there are several racks of clothing running down the middle. The decorating scheme is subtle and allows the items for sale to shine. There's a good mix of gently-used items and new items. Lots of great brand names (Coach, Talbot's, and the like), and everything has been beautifully cared for and is very au courant. There's lots of room to move around and shop, and the clothing is organized and arranged perfectly so there's no question of what you're looking for. Lots of cute jackets and rain coats are available and so perfect for our early springtime. I have a definite shoe fetish and many of the shoes (and boots and athletic shoes - they seem to have them all) made me sigh with happiness (such pretty things). Sizes run from XS up to about size 18. I'm not sure if she was the owner or not, but a quietly friendly woman greeted me when I walked in and went back to her work, and I was sure she would be very approachable to answer any questions. She also called out a farewell greeting when I left. I give high marks for the shop also being wonderfully clean and dust-free; that alone will make me return. Don't let this shop flash by; you must "flash on" it and see what you're missing. This is a definite shiny jewel in the crown of the St. John's vintage/thrift scene. read more

I love this place!!! What a find! I have not been to Buffalo or Red Light in years because their clothes are practically more expensive than buying new. Not to mention the crazy hipsters who look at me like i just don't belong. At Consign Couture I can finally venture back into buying used clothing, in GREAT condition at a reasonable price. I love how the owner, Tamara, goes the extra mile for her customers. She recommended a perfect pair of jeans, and at my size, that's not always easy. She even brings in stylists who can help other fashion-challenged girls put outfits together that look soooo cute!! This shop is the BEST. I think Kari J. must have not looked hard, or asked because they have things above a size Medium! The sales staff is super helpful, and they will even come to your house and take your clothing away! Why on earth would I ever go to Buffalo Exchange or Red Light again? It's not full of old lady clothing, or overpriced crap (Buffalo & Red Light), and there aren't any hipsters giving me the side-eye while I shop because I'm not wearing too tight pants and an ironic shirt from the 90's. I'll keep going back because there are always new things, and it's a super cute space. And you didn't find me in your system because Ginny is what my FRIENDS call me - clearly you are not, nor will you ever be one. I used to come in regularly - then, starting about a month ago, I rolled up just as you were closing and found you just coming out the front door. I smiled and said "Oh, you're closing?" because I'd been trying to get there in time, and you just glared at me and said nothing. No recognition even tho, as I already stated, we have spoken many times and I am a regular customer. So the next time I came by, it was a Sunday late afternoon and I saw you out front. In order to not get burned again, I asked you "Will you be open for awhile?" Unsmiling, you curtly said "I have someone working up front." That was it...no "thanks for coming in", "go right on in", "happy shopping" or any other pleasantry you would expect from a shop owner whose store you have patronized for years. I've spent HUNDREDS of dollars in your store. In fact, it's rare that I get out of there for under $100 per visit. So, after this second nasty encounter, I was truly puzzled and wondered what I had possibly done to offend you. Your staff (Jade) was suddenly chilly to me as well. THEN..the clincher, I found that you had unfollowed me on Instagram even tho I very recently had left positive comments for you. Clearly, it was not my imagination, you DO have a problem with me for some unfathomable reason. So, what's the deal, Tamara? Did you blacklist me for some BS reason or bizarre personal bias? Is it because I moved to St. John's and you just ASSUMED I'm some "asshole out-of-towner" buying up houses and driving people out? Because I assure you, I'm not. First of all, I RENT in a shitty party of STJ, because it's all I can afford. Secondly, I am a fellow female entrepreneur who has struggled greatly with self-employment. I just had the worst year of my life, work-wise. I shopped with you because it was all I could afford. And I shop at all the local STJ businesses, because I want to support other small businesses. What a hypocrite you are to always be posting about how much you struggled in the beginning, and now you are expanding so you feel entitled to be an ahole to people for no reason? Not cool. And don't tell me you want to "chat and work out this misunderstanding." My favorite little shop in Lake Oswego! I came in for the first time a few months ago. Nancy introduced me to a GORGEOUS Chloe bag. She knew their line inside and out and was able to educate me on the quality of this designer. I left the store without buying the bag, but I called less than an hour later to pay for it over the phone. I went to pick it up and when I got home, was pleasantly surprised to see a very sweet hand-written note! That's customer service at its finest. I keep going back just because of the way I'll be treated. Nancy is super cute and friendly, very soft-spoken and kind. She is up-to-date on all the trends and buys a lot of key pieces for the store. The owner Tamara is really fun.. very personable and down to earth and happy to have you in her store. There is another consignment store in L.O. Where the ladies are mean, nasty and snobby and treat you like a peasant. I avoid that store like the plague. This place is night and day. I love that I never get pressured to buy here. They just let you kind of mind your own business and browse, and if you're looking for something specific, they will lead you in that direction. Their inventory is finely curated and VAST. You'll find luxury designers like Prada, D&G, and St. Laurent, cool contemporary brands like Theory, Joie, Rag & Bone, All Saints, Frame and Vince, and more affordable brands like J.Crew, Blank NYC and Marc Fisher. Today I picked up these adorable Isabel Marant booties and the dreamiest Burberry buttery soft winter coat! I died and went to heaven. Check out their new little designer room in the back... They have a beautiful pair of Chloe cognac booties that were too small for me. They also have some activewear (think LuLulemon), and local and handmade jewelry. Whether you are on a budget or have big bucks to spend, you absolutely must try this place. Five stars all around! read more

I'm so glad I happened across this little consignment store in St. Johns. The outside doesn't do it justice. But, go in and you will find helpful sales staff, a nicely edited selection, and good prices. I actually didn't find anything to buy on my first visit after having just bought my sister a birthday present down the street, but I had a hard time justifying not returning what I just bought her for getting a few pieces in this shop instead. The sales person went out of her way to help me. It was so unbelievably refreshing. She even emailed me afterward after I told her I was looking for patterned leggings. Very cute little shop. The owner greeted me, took my 2 items for consignment, and was very sweet and pleasant. I walked around for a few minutes to look at dresses (as I need sometime for a wedding coming up). There was a good, varied selection of mostly higher end labels, Betsy Johnson, Diane Von Fusterberg etc. The items were in very good to new condition. I also saw one one or two dresses that were from Target though. Keep in mind the store is billed as a "couture," consignment shop. It's not a thrift store. So you will be disappointed if you go there expected thrift store quality and prices. I didn't end up buy anything my first time there, want to see if my items will sell first, but I'll most likely be back to shop in the future. Favorite place to shop and I recommend it to all my friends. Before I found Consign Couture I didn't like shopping at consignment shops. This store and the owner completely changed my mind. I've found great brands that are in excellent condition: J Crew sweaters, Theory pants, BCBGMaxazria clutch, and vintage jewelry. I get compliments all the time on my purchases. If you are familiar with retail prices of name brands, you know that you are getting a great deal. There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already. I've never had much success with consignment shops or really enjoyed picking through clothes and such. But here, I feel like I'm picking items from a giant closet with my name on it. I never walk out empty handed. It just so happens now that just about all my favorite clothing pieces came from CC. I also love the ambiance and vision of the shop. I feel relaxed and want to shop around and it's a great environment. I love that they do different special events and seem to always be working on something new and exciting. It's safe to say this is my latest obsession. read more

I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. I went in for the first time today and I was pretty underwhelmed. The two store clerks didn't bother to greet me even once in the 20 minutes I spent in the nearly-empty store. For the store name, there were no courture items whatsoever. The clothing and accessories were on the way to becoming outdated and the brands were mostly Banana Republic and J Crew types. There was a bucket of purses in the corner that had 10 year old Coach shoulder bags for $60. Judging by service and selection, I won't recommend buying or consigning here.. Better things can be found at Buffalo Exchange or Plato's closet. read more

Consign Couture is one of my absolute favorite boutiques in Portland! I have been consigning with them for about 2 years now, and continue to return even though I have moved out of the St.John's neighborhood. If I did live in the neighborhood I would be in there daily checking out the new selection to make sure I got all the cute stuff before other people. ;) They do a great job of updating their facebook and instagram with new items so you know when to go in and nab a beautiful piece. I love the decor in the shop, the helpful, unpretentious shop girls, and the locally made jewelry. I got a crystal necklace that would sell on etsy for $50-$75 or more for $28 and I plan on returning for lots more jewelry. As a consignor, I feel they are generally good about accepting items in good condition and that are brand name and in style. They are definitely better than Buffalo Exchange. Then I can use my store credit on new pieces. So maybe they aren't as cheap as Crossroads/Buffalo, but it doesn't feel like a hipster threw up all over the place in there ; ) and they have nicer quality pieces that are more curated so you don't have to dig as much. I am usually amazed at what I find in there and amazed that certain pieces don't sell faster. Oh, and they carry a line of (new) camisoles and leggings that are the most amazing fabric and fit and so comfortable. So basically, from the jewelry to the basics, I love everything about this place. Parking is on the street and is not ideal, but they are right next to the farmer's market, beer bus, and a couple of food carts so might as well make a day of it. read more

The owner, Tamara, is dedicated to her customers and consignors; she brings in high-quality pieces and offers them at reasonable prices. She takes care of her consignors and is fair. I have consigned with Couture Consignment. When I went to pick up my first check it wasn't at the store even though my account showed that payment had been processed. Considering that the store is out of the way for me it was frustrating to make the effort for nothing. I probably won't consign here again. Addendum: Tamara who is the store owner called me right away. She was very apologetic. Her bookkeeper sent my check to a different client. She's going to have the check mailed to me. Visited the shop in LO for the first time about a week ago. I first stopped in when I went on the Wine Walk, and thought they had such stylish clothes. I went there last week looking for a dress for a date night. After browsing for awhile, Nancy approached me and began to help. She selected some tops that would coordinate a skirt I really liked. She helped me for sometime, but as I began to make a decision and ask a few questions, Nancy became more distant. She went to the counter and started texting someone on her phone. When I went to ask her a question, she said "hold on one minute while I finish this text." Pretty sure that's not something you say to a customer. She ended up finishing her text and helped me complete my order. Honestly I did really like the top I ended up with (changed my mind on the skirt), but was definitely turned off by her customer service. It felt a bit as thought I was just not up to par for Lake Oswego, even though I live here. I also want to mention that there was another shopper in the store at the same time, that was definitely offered better service than myself. She was drinking wine and eating snacks, neither of which I was offered. I would probably go back, mostly because they do have nice designer clothes at reasonable prices, but if the service is the same or worse, I likely will not return after that. read more
