Their sandwiches are truly the very best. Served up on Turano bread nothing beats a prosciutto and provolone with peppers and oil. I usually see the same friendly faces behind the counter that I did in the mid 90s and they are excellent and fast. I knew it was an Italian deli and grocery so I was hoping they would have summer black truffles like Eataly does. Sadly, they did not so I gandered about. I'm not a deli meat guy but I do love some Italian cured meats. Once I saw the Rosie, I had to give it a shot. it consists of Prosciutto cotto, volpi genoa salami, hot coppa & provalone. What a fantastic combo, it also had lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, and mustard. It was a great cold sandwhich and 6in was only 4.75. That's not a bad deal. The girl cashier turned me on to their cards, every time you buy a sandwich they punch the card. 10 punches gets you $5.00 off. Every time I walk in first I see the crowd. How many tables are there. This place reminds me of North Buena Deli and Wine in terms of it being part grocery store and part dining except this is a bigger space and has more tables. We were on the way to Porto's Peri Peri but the specials menu on the outside window caught our eye. So we decided to stop in to get one sandwich to share and then eat at Porto's. This is more of a no-frills type place whereas North Buena might be in better shape. However, they have a bigger selection of items though. We ordered The Frank hot sandwich, which has toasted ham, salami, capocollo with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, sun-dried tomato, fresh basil & balsamic vinegar. It's available in three different sizes: 6 inches, 8 inches, and 12 inches. The sandwich tasted good and the combination of ingredients worked although I slightly prefer North Buena's Italian sandwich more. Dinner Salad is a combination of seasonal fresh greens topped with carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons and your choice of dressing. Chicken Focaccia Grand Daddy is a roasted chicken breast with a pesto-mayo, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and onion on tomato focaccia. Luckily it came really quick. So they have a great service and the staff seemed friendly and nice. My wife and kids are happy seeing that I bought a food for them. My wife and kids love the salad. My kids don't like the chicken they said that it's not juicy and it is hard. But when we taste it it seemed okay. It has a good seasoning. A wonderful Italian deli. Fresh Italian products, including Anisette toast that is full of flavor. The food takes me back to sitting around with my family. I thought the 8 inch was the perfect amount to feel full but not stuffed. I loved the Italian bread it came on -- it was fresh and crispy yet doughy.
