Came in on a Friday afternoon and it was such a nice day out. They have so many options on the menu but we got their Italian sandwich instead and it was so good. The bread was made fresh and the guy who took our order absolutely amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's like a little store inside and there's seating inside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The do sell wine as well a the tiramisu was so good even though it was in the frozen sections.

    The Frank Sandwich

Got the Frank. Sandwich was amazing. It's warm, meat is excellent. Overall very good sandwich. Recommend the trip.

Did not realized how famous this shop was until after we went there and had a few amazing sandwiches. We were in the area and got hungry for lunch. We did pizza already and also did not want anything fancy. And since we were in Little Italy, Italian sandwiches are a must! Great reviews on Yelp so we had to stop it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon walking in, some seating outside, seatings on the right and then you encountered a small supermarket items in a few aisles and then all the gorgeous to the left, the deli freshly made sandwich counter / open kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order what you want. Suggest you stand back and review and know your order before getting in line. These gentlemen want to get you ordered, make your sandwiches and want you to enjoy it. Very no nonsense process. We got 2 sandwiches and enjoyed it very much! Both large and shared it between the 3 of us. Freshly made when you order. Fast service.

    Proscuitto Sub

Stopped in for a quick lunch sandwich. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill vibes inside, just like an old school deli shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fortunate to not have a busy line and ordered the prosciutto sub with the works. They have fridges set up in the back with cheeses and drinks to grab along with fresh made food in a couple fridge units. The sub was so fresh. Great bread and even better giardiniera. Has some kick to it but not potent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Def stop in for a quick bite they have a decent amount of tables available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We had the Italian sandwich and it was a nice mix of meat and lettuce, tomato and onion and oil and vinegar and pickled peppers and mustard and mayo. The service was very quick and it's a down to earth Italian, grocery and deli. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's in the heart of Little Italy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    12 inch Italian Sub Sub
    Jason S.

Finally made it down to Little Italy this weekend to check out Conte Di Savoia as part of my quest to try all of Chicago's best Italian delis and it did not disappoint! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is huge, with plenty of seating and shelves stocked with classic Italian groceries: meats, cheeses, pasta, and more.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ordering process is simple and exactly what you'd expect from an old-school deli. Even on a Saturday afternoon, they cranked out sandwiches fast, and the staff was super friendly. One of the biggest standouts? The price. For just $10, you get a massive 12-inch Italian sub. I only ate half, it was basically two sandwiches for the price of one. That kind of deal is rare in Chicago. The sandwich itself was delicious. Perfect ratio of meats, cheese, toppings, and a solid drizzle of oil and vinegar. I forgot to ask for mayo (which I usually love on an Italian sub), and honestly, it was still fantastic. Just a heads-up: they keep it classic with lettuce, tomato, and oil/vinegar unless you ask for extras so speak up if you want something specific. Overall, Conte Di Savoia is a gem. Great vibe, unbeatable value, and a damn good sandwich. If you're in Little Italy, this spot is a must.

    Grilled panini (turkey)

So efficient, so delicious! And great price! Highly recommend this spot for lunch especially if you work or are a student nearby. It's an Italian grocery store and deli and serves up delicious cold and hot sandwiches! I recently got a grilled turkey panini with giardiniere and it was *chef's kiss*. Fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted bread, and great flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also nice they have several tables to sit and enjoy your meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The Frank - half of 8"
    Patti L.

This place is my favorite place for sandwiches. The Frank sandwich is the best. Wanted to try a panini but still ended up with my fav Frank sandwich. Beware if you use credit card for payment, there is a service fee on credit card.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Charming old world Italian deli and grocery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Subs are great - some places serve subs that overwhelm the taste of the sub with a lot of bread. At Conte do Savoia, the bread to meat ratio is perfect. The sandwiches come in 6, 8 and 12 inch sizes.Giardeneira is hot and spicy. Very popular lunch spot, but they had five guys working on the orders, so the line moved fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is limited indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A little updated review here. Price has gone up, which is understandable. However, now my usual Italian sandwich is quite different. Now sure if they trained their employees differently now or what, but they put mayo mustard in it and they ask me if I want hot peppers. I got asked if I want everything on it and I said yes, but this is not what I used to get... it tasted like a sub from Subway... umm. Not sure what to do with my life now...

The restaurant is not busy at all. We were seated right away. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered pizza and pasta. Pepperoni and Whipped Ricotta Pizza - cooked perfectly, fresh ingredients and delicious! Served hot! Short Rib Pappardelle - to die for! This is very tasty, the pasta is cooked al dente. The short rib sauce is ssosooo delicious! We sat by the bar overlooking the open kitchen. It was nice to see the chef make the pizza and make the pasta. Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a group or a date. They have a full bar, and also great seating with perfect lighting. This is a new favorite for me in the city.

The ambiance is nice with the restaurant not too dark but still has moody lighting. The entire time we sat down there was a huge group of people waiting for a table, so definitely make a reservation! Caesar salad was interesting, it has chopped celery inside which I didn't realize until I started eating. I don't like celery but my sis does and she liked it in the salad. I came here for a business dinner with about 6 others. The only frustrating part of our experience was we made a reservation online weeks in advance and when we arrived we were told that they basically overbooked every night and when you reserve a seat you're just saying you're coming. So we showed up and were told we were going to wait an hour. It sounds like they are super busy, but there are better ways to ensure the restaurant is selling every available seat rather than offering basically fake reservations that don't mean anything when you get there. Someone in our group complained enough about it that they sat us and did honor the reservation which we appreciated - given that it was a business dinner though, I think it was awkward we had to do that. It just was a LOT of work to organize multiple out of towners getting together and to show up and potentially wait an hour would have been so inconvenient. They really should fix this problem. The reservation issue aside the experience was great. The service is just sort of meh I didn't feel like they were above or beyond and didn't note anything exceptional there. But the food..... the food is the main event for sure. Everything I tried I loved. I had just had Italian the day before so I didn't want anything that felt "too Italian" (lasagna, pasta, pizza, etc) so I got the braised short rib over polenta which was a nice change of pace. It was amazing. Some of the best polenta I've ever had. I am already looking forward to the next time I can go back! The food here is outstanding. If you are able to go, I would highly recommend it.

The octopus surprised me because octopus can be hit or miss for me, but they did it really well! The table bread was also pretty good and cheesy. The Caesar was just fine. Nothing special but not bad (which is good coming from me since I'm not usually big on kale). Of course all of the pastas were yummy. The fusilloni was definitely my favorite from the noodle shape to the sausage and cheese. The ricotta dumplings were suuuuuper cheesy which I really liked (though I could see why others wouldn't) and had a melt in your mouth softness. The rigatoni was tasty, but kinda just tasted like a normal red sauce so would probably try something more interesting next time. We really enjoyed the chicken parm, too. The fritto misto was ok, the breading tasted like it was old or had been sitting out. Not as crispy as we'd hope. To be honest felt like frozen calamari quality. The Alla Vita chopped was pretty standard, kinda reminded me of Olive Garden salad lol. The stars of the meal were the tagliatelle and cappelletti pasta. Both were super flavorful and pasta cooked well. The bone-in ribeye was a little on the sweeter side, definitely lacked a crust and salt. I'd pass on the steak IMO. Our biggest qualm was the timing of the dishes coming out. The pasta came out 30-35 minutes after the appetizer and salad which is fine, but the steak coming out 15 minutes after the pasta kinda ruined it. We'd love to eat the entrees (steak and pasta) together, and not finish our pasta first or let it go cold then eat steak alone.. ya know? We had ordered crispy potatoes but cancelled due to the wait. Ended the night with mango passion fruit sorbet with a prosecco float. Big mistake on the prosecco float haha it was so tarte and bitter, would def recommend trying the sorbet alone! Overall, glad we finally got to try this place. Focus more on the pastas and skip the steak. Very beautiful inside.
