    Contenders or Pretenders? I was in the market for a new nail salon because my previous pedicure extraordinaire was retiring. I visited yelp... per usual... and found this place ( I dare not say the name again in fear of flashbacks) I'd given them a call to see if the accepted walk-ins and the woman I'd spoken with ,overall pleasant , asked me to come in at 2. She called me back a few minutes later and asked if I could come in at 4 instead. I told her that was fine and decided to grab some lunch... Now here comes the foolery ! I pull up to a Strip Mall type location were the parking would be considered risky. Not because of the neighborhood but because of pot holes, no clear parking lanes, and over width of parking lot . You could easily loose a bumper if your not careful. I walked in at exactly my appointment time and was admittedly greeted by name. I played " any, many ' miney, moe" with the seating based on the cleanliness and proceed to scope out the place. Did it need updates for sure but that wasn't a deterrent, I can't imagine how much it cost to replace something every time a client scrapes or nicks something . My concern was dust and dirt and the missing nail license( yes I look for those) the shop didn't quite meet my standards and I wasn't sure if it was because there is a lot of black and white in the salon or if they just didn't make cleaning a priority. After about 5 minutes of scanning the room , buzzing from the nail drill I look at my watch. Nothing... no one coming from the back, no plastic being added to the pedicure bowl or water being ran. 4:10 comes and the phone rings" I hear " ok, ok, how long?" And the phone hangs up. The nail tech turns to me and bodily says " your nail tech is in traffic, she said she'll be here in 30 minutes, ok? ." Some many things ran through my head in that moment... but all I could was say " that's not ok" walked out. What a big waste of my time and the boldness the request more time. So if you can look past the potential of car damages, cleanliness issues, and if you have unlimited time, this salon might contend for your business. As for me and my toes , no thanks ! One last thing- where did all those stars come from? There is no way that many people have little to no standards..N/M ... contend at your own risk

    I really liked the care the nail tech took when fixing my broken nail. She really took her time and was receptive to my concerns. I had broken the nail while I was lifting a pallet of water and not only had it lifted but also torn the nail it had been attached to. I appreciate that they tried to color match, but the only shiny they had was a gold glitter and the paint that they did after removing the gel-x nail was really messy and I had to ask them to file some of the nail corners down. She recommended not to get an extension and let it heal and I strongly agreed that was the priority. They only take appointments but it seems like they have a nice small community vibe, greeting their regulars by name when they walked in.

    Cristal was so kind and professional. She carefully prepped my nails and applied a full set of acrylics that look absolutely stunning and natural. The salon was clean, the staff was professional, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of work. If you're a nail biter and want beautiful nails natural, I highly recommend giving them a try!

    I am very pleased with my Mani/Pedi every time I come. Fabiola does excellent work with care and kindness. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Monique the owner is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to the services that you are provided. Thanks, ladies for the excellent customer service.

    Today was my first time at this parlor. I scheduled an appointment which started exactly on time. I got a basic mani and gel polish and it came out great. I unfortunately didn't get the nail tech's name but she was kind and thorough. I usually get really anxious going to nail salons because the nail techs often talk your ear off but I was so comfortable here. Will come again!

    Best mani & pedi I've ever had! Came as a walk in & was squeezed in. Small & cute, vibe was 10/10. Definitely my new nail parlor :)

    I am happy to report that this place is a little gem. The owner and staff are always friendly. My wife has been coming here before meeting me. My wife is a regular. I've been there a lot few times. I had my nails manicured for my wedding. I felt so cared for. I recommend giving this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Creativity and cutting edge skills.

    I made a 12:30 appointment for Saturday. I called the location to let them know I was going to be 5-8 minutes late. I arrived exactly at 12:38 and was told to have a seat, Tameka would be with me as soon as she was done. I was a little surprised, I kind of assumed the technician would be waiting on me since I had to schedule an appointment. I was seated at exactly 1pm. They could have told me to take my time when I called, I was rushing for no reason at all. While I waited for my pedicure, I had time to look around. The place is pretty cute all decorated with black, white and silver. The pedicure location is raised up and requires taking 3 steps. They have regular sofa like chairs to sit in. Honestly the chairs were not very comfortable for me. I did ask Tameka if appointments usually run behind and she stated they are short staffed today. I suppose I will come back at least one more time to test out the wait. I love to support black owned businesses. I appreciate the online booking of services, I'd just like to see my appointment time honored. During my pedicure I found myself constantly swatting little gnats away. They would land on my leg and zip past my face. I suppose this was because the front door was open. This is the second place I have visited where the pedicures are done on completely dry feet. Interesting technique used here. Pretty decent pedicure, I felt the massage portion was pretty short ... maybe 3 minutes. I did add extra massage but from the shop talk it seemed like the ladies were ready to go home so I didn't push the issue. I did ask if I received the callus treatment since the package description includes it. Tameka said she decided to not do it because she was able to scrub my dead skin away. I was kind of surprised because the scrubbing was rather gentle and was brief. I was also not offered the complementary glass of wine. So basically there were a couple discrepancies from what I received and what I thought I would receive. I do prefer places with a massage chair and that give a certain amount of time for the massage (like 15 minutes). For the $60 price tag I thought the service would have been a bit longer. Service completed at exactly 1:50pm. My previous pedicure was so old, only 4 toes sort of had gel on them. I was still charged the full gel removal fee, not a big deal. The gel polish fee was another $10. I selected the top notch pedicure option, I guess I expected a bit more for an $80 nail service but I suppose prices are super expensive everywhere. Tameka was nice. We shared some moments of conversation. I'm glad she didn't force the conversation as I prefer to use my time as I wish. I usually space out or do something on my phone. I'd probably visit again in the future. 11/17- The owner, Monique, called me the day after my review went live. She was extremely rude in her tone. She basically reiterated her written response. At the time, I had not even seen her response. When I arrived to the nail parlor, Monique said, "Have a seat, Tameka will be with you when she's done." There was no interaction between us after that. The owner felt like I was badmouthing her business with my 4/5 star review. She even pulled the "black card" several times. The owner said I could have shared my concerns when I checked out. What the owner failed to see is that they did not provide a warm and inviting environment. I felt like they were all in a hurry to get to their Saturday plans. The owner also said they probably didn't offer me wine because they didn't want me to wait anymore so I can just go back, have my wine and leave. She also said they would offer a manicure service since I didn't like the pedicure. I don't know the purpose of the call. I was only able to say, "Hello, this is her" followed by "No thank you, have a nice day." Her tone was so foul and abrasive, I'm still upset about the call more than a day later. So no, I will never return to this location. I like to support black business but I mostly like to go places that have good customer service.

    I've been in search of a local nail salon. I am pretty sure I found my forever nail salon!! Not only did Aly nail what I wanted, but she was so sweet with the warmest smile! Monique is an absolute gem! It was my 1st time there, but they made me feel like I've been a client for years! Definitely will see you beautiful ladies in 2 weeks! Thanks for a fabulous experience!

A practical tip: bring cash, as Zelle payments incur an extra $10 surcharge. I come in after driving almost 2 hours because this particular nail tech doesn't accept appointments EVEN though they have a website for it. I EVEN CALL!! The nail tech is working on one of the workers (IN THE SALON) hands and the front desk is saying that she can't do my nails because she has two people she needs to do. I said I don't believe that because she's sitting there doing one of her coworkers nails. When I say that she starts getting up to go to them lol. If she needed to do two other people's nails then why is she not doing their nails?? JUST UNPROFESSIONAL. I've spent thousands of dollars at this establishment over the years and just to be disrespected like that was honestly the last straw. Then they talk about you in their language. So today, January 21, this lady has been doing my nails for about almost 2 years now since my first nail tech Frank is sick and has been sick for months and my previous nail tech as well, Liz moved to Florida. I needed someone that does designs and they said Lisa was the next best person so I decided to go with her. Today I came in for a polkadot French tip/refill and as she was doing my nails, her next appointment came in. She told the front desk to tell the lady that it will take her another 20 minutes because she still has to do the polkadot designs. This is at 12:10 PM. Mind you I came in at 11 to get started on my nails. Lisa then starts rushing on my nails messes up a FEW polkadots and uses the nail file and messed up another nail. She expected me to pay $100 of rushed work and walk away. She then started to call me names and say I'm very picky and that she doesn't want to do my nails anymore and that no one at the establishment wants to do my nails. I have been going there for over seven years. I've only had about two or three nail techs and they have all left the establishment. She is very rude and will do sloppy work when she is feeling rushed and will tell you that you are too picky. I save lives for a living and all you have to do is do my nails correctly and I'm picky? It's such an insult. Especially after giving these people hundreds /thousands of dollars over the years. I highly suggest you guys start reconsidering coming to this establishment because it has greatly changed over the years. The only person that I trust on the nail side is Natalie. She does amazing pedicures and she will always make sure that it is done to your liking. I'm actually grateful she banned me from her booking list because I don't have to deal with her nasty attitude anymore.
