I have been to Contos numerous times. The food is good and service is usually great. This is directed to the Front Desk Staff. It wasn't to busy at all. Plenty of people to help myself and others on the front of the house side of things. I had a to go order for my son and I. An appetizer and a kids butter noodles and one of their creamy feta dressings TO GO. I saw food in the window between the front and the kitchen. I heard the cook even call out my last name it was ready. I guess the gossip was good for them not to hear the cook for my order. I asked if that was mine and the look I got from this barley out of high school employee was daggers. In a hurry to feed my 8 year almost (tmro ;-) old mini me I left without checking my order. They effed up the dressing and when I got home (3-4 minutes away) my food was cold. Especially today when it's still mid 80's. To the front staff at Contos / Hostesses / To Go prepares. Won't make it far in life learning easy hospitality skills and just simple kindness. I was in the business for years as a bus boy waiter and bartender. Sometimes you got to bite your lip and say "This to shall pass" your job will end at the end of the day while others deal with stress and what not for months on end at times. I want to make sure this isn't towards the cooks and most of the staff at Contos!!! Love your pizza read more

We came on a night that had over an hour wait for pizza but was told it would be 20 minutes or so. The manager was kind and noticed the long wait that was difficult since I had my 6 year old with me. When they brought out my pizza they made sure to bring out a gift card with it as well since the wait was much longer than expected. That overall shows their customer service. Now the PIZZA was worth the wait. It was amazing. We ordered both the cheese pizza and the Conto's Supreme. It was piping hot, the amount of sauce was perfect, the cheese melted just like how we liked it. So many meats and veggies and I love that they use feta cheese. It's definitely our favorite pizza place. It's a little on the pricey side but you are getting what you paid for. Amazing food and service. read more

I love this pizza.....and I usually easy thin crust pizza. The crust is flavorful and perfectly chewy. The cheese is real and abundant. The toppings are fresh. I really,really like thus pizza. They have all kinds of pasta and salad options also. Maybe someday I will try them. read more

Our power was out and we were starving so we hit up Contos for the first time to try them out. The place was packed and we waited a while for a table but I'd say it was worth it. They had quite a few menu items to choose from so whether you wanted pizza, pasta, salad or a sandwich, Contos has you covered! I was surprised to see a full bar in the place but I'm definitely not complaining. My husband and I got deep fried ravioli's, salads and a pizza to share. Everything we ordered was delicious. I was very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere and it wasn't because I was buzzed off wine! I will be back for sure to try some of their other items and who knows....maybe I'll get a meatball sandwich next time! Yum! read more

I went with 3 friends and two of us were sick shortly after. We figured it was the Greek salad, since we both had one and were both very ill after. We notified the restaurant, to warn them that they might not want to serve it until they figure out what the problem is, but instead just took our info and said they'd contact us back if they got more complaints. How many people actually call back a restaurant when they get sick? As for the food, it was okay. It was a suburban pizza house that considers a house salad as - iceberg lettuce, lots of shredded mozzarella cheese, and croutons (not even carrots, cucumbers, or tomatoes!). I ordered the Beef Gyro and Greek salad meal, I drank water, and ordered baklava for dessert and with tax and tip my meal came to $20!!! I can get 3 gyros in Seattle for that price and almost guarantee I would NOT be sick later. To summarize, food was overpriced, the meal made me sick (literally), and the management was lazy about remedying the situation - at least offer a refund or pull the food. Let's just say - I will not be re-visiting them any time soon or ever. read more

Ok, I will first say that I make the best spaghetti sauce (and yes, I'm humble too.) I'm very hesitant to order spaghetti in restaurants because it just leaves me wanting to come home and have some GOOD spaghetti. However... Contos makes some awesome spaghetti! Don't order it if you don't like cheese though, or be sure to ask them to leave it off or something. It's super delicious! Actually, everything I've had there is top notch. It doesn't look like it from the outside, but it's actually a nice restaurant inside. You can dress casual, but it would be a good place to go for an anniversary or birthday as well. They have a full bar, and while I haven't ordered any cocktails there yet, they have some that look interesting. I have ordered: gyro, fettucini, various appetizers, spaghetti, and ravioli. None have disappointed me or my husband. I had to choose between the $ and the $$ option here, but they really span both of them. You can get sandwiches in the $ range, or pastas in the $$ range. I haven't tried their pizzas, but they look good. Oh, and unlike the previous reviewer, I LOVE that they use iceberg lettuce for their salads instead of "weeds!" Friendly staff, excellent food. What more could you ask for? The pizza is crazy good. If you love extra cheese on your pizza, they have you covered. I can't recall ever seeing a pizza with this much cheese. It's a favorite for my husband for sure. We also had the spaghetti, HUGE portion and the sauce some awesome. It's more like a Bolognese, which I love. After both of my kids had their portion, there was still plenty for lunch the next day. It also came with a side salad that consisted of lettuce, cheese and croutons with your dressing of choice. So of course my kids loved it! The garlic bread was great too! Also had a hot sub. I ordered their chicken Gyro with feta. It was exceptional. The chicken was fresh and juicy. Everything tasted fresh. As newER Lake stevens residents, this is our favorite place. Just moved to the area neighbor told us about this place. AMAZING service. I was so please after a horrible experience with a pub very near to here. Our server was spot on very polite and personable. I believe her name was Kate. She's awesome! I ordered a cold cut sam and husband ordered a pizza. The sam was HUGE and amazing! The pizza was addicting. HUGE portions and a great price. Contos is an awesome restaurant if you're looking for Italian food. They're a great place to take a group of family or friends, have a quiet dinner for just the two of you, or if you're thinking about picking up some yummy food on your way home from work (I've done this many nights!) I have tried multiple dishes here, and everything I've had has been wonderful. However, like Megan P., I seem to have gotten stuck on one dish :) They actually served it as a special one time, so it's not on their menu...But I LOVE their Burnt Butter Pasta (Pasta, w/ Burnt Butter and Myzithra Cheese - Similar to Old Spaghetti Factory's classic dish), and they're happy to make it any time I go! Their service is usually fast, although there have been a couple times when they're busy, or maybe understaffed during a weeknight when I've had to wait, but I've always had a pleasant experience. My take-out experiences have been great too! :) They have printed take-out menus by the register (I suggest picking one up!), and it's never taken them more than 15-20 minutes to make my order. You can also get a pop/soda "to go" if you're interested! :) I give them 5 stars for having great service, yummy food, a take-out option and great decor for eating in :) read more

My friend and I walked in a few nights ago at 8:57 and the restaurant closes at 10. We asked for a table and the hostess says she needs to ask her manager a question. She comes back a few minutes later and says they stop seating people at 9 and we could only order takeout. I've worked in a restaurant and I get that serving people later in the evening isn't fun but to not seat someone an hour before closing is ridiculous. I hate eating here simply because I cannot stop. Their portions are huge especially for dinner and I go home feeling very full. They have amazing food all around. Pasta, salads, pizza, sandwiches, ect. I definitely recommend the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer. Great drinks too! read more

The food is SO YUMMY! The only downside to Contos is that you have to plan ahead if you want to eat there, because it is almost always packed. Their food is well worth the planning and/or wait though! The staff is always great too. Contos is a Lake Stevens treasure. read more

I'm not a huge Italian food person. It's not my favorite cuisine. That said, - this place is incredible! We've gone many times over the past few years and every single thing I've had has been delcious! The service is always very good as well. This past week, I took my Mom there and we each had a little personal pizza and the pizza is just amazing! I've also had the fried raviolis which are to die for and the Mizithra pasta which is quite good. I LOVE the little dinner salad with cheese mounded on top!! And the dressing is great too! The kids love it here too. Last summer, my brother was visiting and he had the lasagna and loved it so much, he made us go back 3 nights later before he left town. We also took family from Bothell here and they loved it so much they said they will drive up to go here! The dining room is pretty small - so go early or at off times. By doing that, we've never had a problem getting in. Here's a tip: You pay up at the counter! I've been confused by that the first few times because they don't tell you. But, really, this deserves the 5 stars! It's our go-to Italian place! read more

While visiting my son and nephew in Lake Stevens, I asked for a restaurant recommendation and Contos' Pizza was at the top of their list. The restaurant was busy (Sunday night), but we were seated promptly. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I'm told this is a family-owned operation, which I consider reassuring. I ordered chicken parmigiana, my son chose veal parmigiana and my nephew's choice disappeared before I could identify it. I enjoyed my dinner, and I look forward to another. read more

I really like the pizza at this place. The cheese is always melted really nice (which is an underappreciated art!) and overall very tasty. The service is usually pretty good, everyone is very nice, and things are usually cooked thoroughly (another underappreciated art!). Ambience in this place is nice, it's a cozy place sort of tucked away in Frontier Village and it's a nice place. If you're getting takeout, stick to pizza or the baked spaghetti. I've ordered a couple pasta dishes to go and they're incredibly oversauced. They usually take care of business if you're eating in house but the to go orders, not so much. I have been eating at Contos for over 19 years and over the years have seen the protein portions get smaller and smaller as the price goes up. On Sat I ordered the chicken Caprese sandwich for $14.99. In the description it says grilled chicken breast not very thin slices of chicken breast. So thin the cheese was thicker then the chicken. You could not taste and chicken on the sandwich. My guess it was no more then 1-2 ounces of chicken. I have to say the fries were really good. I do not recommend getting a sandwich from Contos. A very disappointed long time customer. read more

This WAS my favorite pizza place. But on a recent visit we walked in at 9:15 pm . Hours on the door are until 10 pm. When we were told we stop seating at 9 but you can order carry out. I said no thank you, you just lost a customer. In my opinion if a restaurant has their hours listed at 10 pm, we should be able to sit down and eat until 10 pm. I understand the bad ettiqute of showing up 5 minutes before closing but come on 45 minutes???!! Ridiculous. The door and the website should say open until 9 pm with take out available until 10. I will never set foot in the restaurant again. Guess Christanos in Marysville has taken over the top spot for pizza. :( read more

DANGER! I don't feel safe eating Contos' food. In recent visits, masks were worn UNDER noses by the owner, servers and cooks. Not just that a mask slipped a little----purposefully worn completely under noses. Called owner---full of excuses. Argues with science. Said the masks slip because women have small heads, and when they tip their heads, their masks fall down-----give me a break. Said cooks can't wear masks properly because it's too hot. Wanted to know how I didn't know his cook didn't have an underlying condition, and had to cook with the mask down? Really? This is just gaslighting. A sign out front tells customers the restaurant "recommends wearing a mask". Recommend? How about over 200,000 dead? How about MILLIONS who have gotten Covid? How about requiring people follow the damn law? I shared that the server I asked to put her mask up over her nose, did so---but didn't wash her hands after touching the front of her mask, and then went straight to touching the to-go bags. The owner told me to be quiet and listen, and said it was okay to not return. Rude, full of excuses following his "feels", not science or the law. Let's hope no one in there has Covid, because, if so, they are breathing it all over the food, boxes and bags. This has been a favorite restaurant----no more. I see I'm not the only one---Izzy posted in August-- I typically LOVE Contos and when I went in for take out yesterday I was surprised to see every single cook or person in the kitchen with their mask below their nose or sliding down their face with their mouth uncovered. My food was great but I was not impressed with the mask wearing. I work in healthcare and understand how annoying they are to wear but if not worn properly there is no point. I can't say I will give them my business until the covid era is over. :/ So if you care about the mask wearing and the cleanliness of the kitchen I'd skip Contos for a bit. read more

This was an interesting experience. We had heard good things about Contos Pizza, and read some review in here(Yelp). I'd just have to say that the best thing about our visit was the service. Starting with the ambiance unfortunately, things got a bit weird. Loud jazzy elevator music doesn't fit very well for an Italian restaurant. On the culinary side, the quality of the food was chef boyardee-esque at best. Most of the food had way too much cheese. The smothering of the food with cheese made it thick, greasy, and hard to eat. We will not be coming back any time soon. read more
