This is a legitimate review! Ed and his son Jeremy have done a couple of jobs for me since I bought a pretty beat up foreclosure a couple of years ago including a new water softener install. About 8 months later noticed the water just wasn't soft and contacted Ed and said while it was nothing urgent, please stop by take a look whenever you can make it. He said he would stop by to have a look, but it floored me when they showed up 10 minutes later. I held the flashlight while these guys went through checking every concievable issue and I can tell you it was impressive. It was a strange problem with the line from the brine tank to the unit but they stayed with it and did everything possible to troubleshoot and solve it, including time and effort to pick up a new head unit to replace the original one. While it's not clear what caused the problem with that supply hose, I offered to pay for a service call. Ed would hear nothing of it. In fact Ed even ended even buying the original head unit because he didn't want to return it since it wasn't the problem. All of this on the day before Christmas Eve when I know they were very busy. These guys are professional and as honest as it gets. I will only call Ed and Jeremy for plumbing help. They are simply the best and they are local to South Elgin. These guys were great. By chance they were scheduled to replace my water heater during the polar vortex. I figured they'd want to reschedule but they came out and took care of the installation no problem. They were extremely conscientious, courteous, and quick, bringing several aspects of the water heater up to code that weren't properly done when the house was first built. Not only this, they helped me scrape ice out from under my garage door to help keep a pipe from freezing in my garage, checked that my furnace vent wasn't blocked with snow, and gave me several other pieces of advice on how to care for my home during extreme cold (which, as a relatively new homeowner, I definitely appreciated). We've used Convenient Plumbing for years, for smaller jobs and a large one (roughing in plumbing in basement last fall) and they've always done a spectacular job. When roughing the plumbing the inspector even told me we'll literally never have plumbing concerns in our basement because of how great of a job they did! Ed & Jeremy are extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous and very responsive. We had a clogged drain in our upstairs bathroom. I sent out a message for quotes on Tuesday night, and Wednesday morning Ed gave me a call and came over within 30 minutes. He and his son took care of the clog and were out in an hour. They also took the time to secure our pedestal sink which was wobbly from before. Very conscientious in their approach. We have used Convenient Pluming on several different occasions for to rod a drain, replacement outside faucets and most recently replacing a shower tub faucet. They are always professional and very neat. I find them to be honest and they go above and beyond.
