We recently had a Reverse Osmosis system installed in our office. No microplastics (bottled water) being served to our employees and clients! My brand new dishwasher wouldn't drain. I tried all of the solutions online, watched some YouTube videos and got to "it's time to call a plumber". Appliance manufacturer talked me through all troubleshooting and said, there is nothing wrong with the dishwasher, a reputable plumber can fix this. Based on the information on their website, I contacted Residential Plumbing Services. They came out less than 24 hours later. When Ken arrived, I told him my old dishwasher didn't drain either. He looked under my kitchen sink, turned the dishwasher on and off a few times, and in less than 3 minutes said "looks like it's plumbed correctly". I told him that I had gone through basic trouble shooting, reminded him that my old dishwasher didn't drain either (shouldn't that have been a clue the problem isn't the dishwasher???) and told him I read other possible causes online. He actually asked me what it said online! I read the possible causes to him. Things I don't have tools or expertise to fix myself, but that should have been familiar to a plumber. He was having none of it. "We don't fix that, it looks like it's plumbed correctly." Terrible experience and total waste of time. read more

We had a sewage backup in our basement - awful! We have used RP for years and they really came through this time. Robby came out and spent a lot of time investigating the problem with a camera and diagnostic equipment. He showed us everything live on camera and we had a terrible pipeline break. Robby got it working well enough to use for 2 days. He came back with Nate and replaced the pipe and redid the basement floor. They were clean, professional and on time. I had the team replace 3 water heaters in my home. Of the 3, one wasn't working right after a couple months and we even lost all water in the faucets that are serviced from that one. We asked Residential to come back out and look. They charged me $200 to come out and only said that the water wasn't working and it was unrelated to their fix. They wanted to charge me more money to fix it. We had 0 issues with water pressure for years before they put in the water heater and the issue was directly related to the faucets connected to the new water heater, other faucets were fine. So I said I would wait until the owner of their company got back from vacation so I can talk to him. In few days, the water just started working in those faucets. Probably something related to them soldering the water lines because they had to rework the water lines to install the new tanks. So I called them back out again to look as the water heater wasn't working as hot as it could be and make sure everything ok. They charged me another $230 to come out and told me that it would be another $350 to fix it. What? So since I paid them thousands of dollars to install the units, then one stops working within a few months, they want to charge me in total with the visits almost another $1000 in total fees to fix it the way it was supposed to work in the first place? They do not guarantee their work and I am extremely upset that they are charging me all this money for something they clearly did. Never had issues ever in the house before until after they came. I'm considering small claims court. read more

More great experiences with Residential Plumbing! Since the original review, we had a new backup sump pump system installed that we couldn't be happier with! It's a huge improvement over the old one which was self installed. The installation itself was quick, and the finished product is awesome. Recently we had an old shutoff valve for our washing machine spring a serious leak. The company was able to get someone out the very next day who very quickly replaced both old gate valves for us! Per usual they were super responsive and professional, did great work, and with very fair pricing. This is seriously a great company to do business with! read more

Asked how much it costs to replace a spigot outside. Would not quote me a price or estimate at all. Was told there was a $89 charge and they would tell me when they show up. When I asked their hourly rate, they said they couldn't disclose that information. I wouldn't recommend doing business with a company that isn't transparent with their prices read more

The name Residential Plumbing is perfect for this company. I recently moved into a home that needed lots of TLC. Nate came out towards the end of my "updating" and really helped me out. He replaced a bad front spigot/valve, ran a new spigot/valve to the back of our home (never there before), and cut out an old water softener, as well as rerouted the piping as discussed in that "spaghetti mess" area. He also installed a new shut off valve on the water meter. Nate also recommended that I call the water department for a new meter that is 40+ years old. They were grateful and have a program in place to do just that. I have used other plumbing companies in the past, very many times. I hope I get Nate again next time I call Residential Plumbing. Overdue review...Ken came to our rescue. I sent an email inquiry in the middle of the night paranoid about a possible gas leak and that my house was going to explode...post a laundry room remodel. Until you are faced with a clogged kitchen sink you don't realize just how important it is for your sink and disposal to work properly. When our sink was clogged it was a terrible inconvenience. I do not recommend Residential Plumbing due to my bad experience. I told Residential Plumbing the repeated problems in my house like toilet tissue overflowed from the drain hole and water sipped through the floor of the washer/dryer room where the house's main sewer line is. Residential Plumbing owner Ken came to my property and checked showers, toilets and vanity sinks multiple times and found no problems. He charged me $120 without fixing any thing or recommending any fixes. He did not even mention to me the possibility of having a sewer issue. As a home owner I am not knowledgeable enough to know the difference between plumbing issues and sewer issues until I found another plumber who performed diagnostic checks and actually found/fixed the sewer problem. I am actually disappointed at Residential Plumbing for only performing superficial checks and charged me for doing absolutely nothing. read more

I should have written a review for Residential Plumbing when I first used them. I called originally because of the GREAT reviews I saw on the internet...I moved into my house which had HOT water going to my toilet in the half bathroom....he came and fixed that minimal time and quite affordable....then I had a leak in my basement...Ken came by and saw that my bathtub was plugged which was causing the leak...he cleaned the clog and all was well.....then my pipe from my sump pump to the outside froze this winter and another leak was happening in my basement...This time Bob M from Residential Plumbing came out and found out that the leak was caused by the sump pump line which froze....in sub zero temps... he rerouted the sump pump line to above ground and there have been no problems....today I asked for them to come back and re-route the sump pump to the original under ground pipe...Bob M came back and checked to see if my request could work and everything checked out ok..so he installed a t-pipe with a dry fit so if the line freezes again underground...I can still use the above ground pipe---I have a Plan B....I love this company--affordable, always answers phone...something that I find rare now-a-days. I was having constant issues with my water heater with other "professionals" not being able to assess the issue and come to a resolution for the problem on why it kept tripping after usage and not refilling with hot water. Ken had the tools and proper knowledge to come in and get the job done. His pricing is a little high just for his time on the clock plus there is a 4% fee if you use your debit/credit card. He is friendly if you get him to service you on a good day...otherwise he may seem a little introverted and unfriendly in and out to get his job done. Avoid at all costs. The job was originally quoted at $500 for four parts, and two visits, which seemed reasonable. Once the job was started it was determined that only two parts needed to be replaced, and plumber was done in less than two hours. The invoice was submitted to us for $395. I asked for a breakdown of parts costs, # of hours and cost/hour, and I was refused twice on this information. The parts online totaled $40, and adding in $60 for the trip charge, they are trying to charge $300 for less than two hours of labor. I had a follow-up conversation which netted nothing. Again, avoid. read more
