Pasta made perfect aldente highly recommend topped with whipped cheese

I would like to try all pizzas places in town before winter settles in. Heard this place over YouTube, parking is near impossible lots of traffic. We have to wait at least 30 mins to be seated considering we have no reservations. This restaurant is adjacent to another Italian restaurant serving Italian foods. They are the same owners and both places are packed. Their menu is straight forward easy to read not overwhelming. Great pizza except I think this would be my 3rd best pizza I have eaten in my life. The drawback is that their sauce is not as good compared to other places I had tried. Crust is excellent you can't go wrong I recommend ordering the deep fried cheese sticks, Ceasar salad, pasta and the pizza with the white sauce ( haha sorry I forgot the name, you know what I mean). Staffs are friendly and nice but make sure you check the cutlerys I noticed mine still have some leftover cheese from previous diner.

We originally wanted to try Sugo for some pasta but since the wait was so long, we decided to go next door for some pizza. We ended up waiting for about an hour on a Tuesday night, but eventually got a couple seats at the bar. It was pretty loud inside but you could tell this was a favourite spot in the community. At the back of the restaurant you can watch the pizzas cooking in the wood fire oven. The staff were very friendly, I'd say almost all of them spoke to us at some point. The menu was reasonably sized, offering appetizers, pizzas and two pasta options. We opted for the zucchini pizza which was covered in fresh basil and creamy pesto. It was delicious and giant! Easily enough to feed 2-3 people, or 1 if you're starving. Overall we really enjoyed the food and would love to try the Sugo pasta, I just hope it's not another hour long wait.

This pizza was great !! The crust was crispy on the bottom but the dough was still chewy and well cooked. The toppings are fresh and delicious. We come here to wait for our table at Sugo next door. Couldn't ask for more

Conzo's is the sister-restaurant to sugo next door, and is in a much larger space. They even take reservations. however, their resos fill up quick, so be sure to call at least a few days in advance. We ended up not being able to get a reso for Saturday around 6:30pm, so we showed up in-person to get on the waitlist. The host said the wait could be up to 2 hours as they were still waiting on resos. We decided to wait bc there were only a few tables ahead of us and we banked on the fact that some resos would be no-shows. Luckily, that's exactly what happened and we got a table after waiting 30-45 min. They should probably rethink their reservation policy, or not take reso's at all (like sugo). Interesting thing is that the pizza's take ~25-30 min from start to finish which causes the backlog. But the pizza is very good, and definitely holds its own against top NYC pizza joints. Crust has a good thickness to it and the toppings are loaded on. We got the Manlia and the special for the day, clam pizza w a white sauce. both were very good but anything with pepperoni and jalepenos is my favourite. also ordered mozza sticks and meatballs, would probably skip next time, these were ok - the tomato sauce for both were the stars. Like Sugo, service is impeccable, frinedly and fast! they want to turnover the tables asap so they are always on the ball.

BOTTOM LINE: The place to go to when you can't get into Sugo (but also, they're owned by the same peeps, and did I mention that Conzo's pies are really good though?!) :P Judging by the number of reviews for Sugo, I'm clearly way late to the party; however, I think I may have accidentally stumbled way early into the next best thing: their sister restaurant next door. The space is much larger, with mixed bar, table, and high-table seating, and can probably accommodate about 2 to 3 times the customers compared to Sugo. The tables/bar are also much wider than expected (more on that in a moment). The venue has a more "grown-up" resto bar feel, compared the cramped/comfy (take your pick) family diner feel of Sugo. There's a purpose-built pizza oven in the back, and out from this oven comes ginormous pies, which explains why the tables have to be larger than usual to accommodate them. And really, you're probably gonna come here for their pies. They're all priced at $28, and there are (I believe) 6 with red Sugo sauce and 2 with white sauce. The pies themselves are very thin, but the crusts are fairly substantial and chewy, so you get the best of both worlds. I tried the HAWAIIAN PIZZA, and the first thing that struck me was how fresh the ingredients were from the generous garnishing of basil, to their sweet pineapples, fresh cheese, and juicy prosciutto. Did I mention the portions are huge? One pie is enough to feed 3 or maybe 4 people. They have two salads on the menu ($11), a CAESAR and an ARUGULA, and I tried their latter. Again, the portion size was huge, and the additional radicchio, pears, and walnuts (again, all really fresh) made for a very light and flavourful salad. Things I didn't get to try included their two pasta offerings and three meat offerings (a sous vide skirt steak, their INVOLTINI, which I really wanna try, and something else I can't remember). Finally, for drinks, they have some classic cocktails, a handful of reds and whites, two beers on tap (one was a CZECHVAR, and I can't remember the other). I didn't try their desserts, but I understand they serve the same TIRAMISU from Sugo, which apparently is very good.

    Cheese, well done, thin.

Good alternative to North Of Brooklyn (but pricier; $30 16"cheese pie here vs. NOB's $22 18"). Superior compared to Makers. Asked for well done cheese pie (Mozz, Fior di Latte, Grana Padano) for pickup. I love the oil created by the cheeses, they added another layer of flavour but some may find it too rich. The dough was slightly charred and a bit drier (which is fine) compared to NOB's "well done" dough; NOB's dough was slightly superior; Conzo's dough was not as dynamic and airy as NOB's. NOB has the edge with their dough (and it seems more fermented), and better price, giving NOB the edge value-wise. Tasting-wise slight edge to NOB, but Conzo's has a unique take and flavour to their dough & topping combination. Easily 2nd best 'New World' pie in downtown Toronto area; Libretto's NY Cheese pie close 3rd and Chito's an honourable mention.

Delicious food! Originally went to Sugo but there was a 30 minute wait so instead headed over here and was seated right away. Rigatoni was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce was delicious. Pizza was a white based pizza and the toppings were perfect and fresh for a warm day. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive :)

I thought I found my favourite pizza I was wrong . Conzos pizza blew me away. The consistency of the pizza crust is probably the best I've ever had it was so light and airy and crispy. I had leftover pizza and it reheated amazing. They were extremely generous on the toppings and they had the slightest char which made the pepperoni crispy I absolutely love that. Pizza sauce was so delicious and there was the perfect amount of cheese I cannot wait to go back Service was absolutely amazing as well.

Decided to change things up and try a different pie from Conzo's, since all pies are $30! ZUCCHINI slice, which is described as being topped with zucchini, pesto, chili, buffalo mozzarella, whipped ricotta, and basil (packed separately for take out). About 99% of the time, you'll find me with a tomato-based pizza slice in hand, so this was definitely something new for me, but pesto is so delicious and paired amazing with these toppings. Being a meatless pizza, I found this to be a lot less salty and greasy than their "Condo's Pepperoni Mushroom" and "Lil' J's Pie of the Day" (my typical orders) which made it more enjoyable and less heavy on the stomach. The combination of buffalo mozzarella and whipped ricotta made things feel lighter with its creamy texture, while adding so much depth in flavor. The touch of chilli was also really nice for some slight heat. As always, the highlight for me was definitely the crust, as their wood oven create an airy bread-like edge with the perfect chew.

Doesn't mess around here. In my top 3 along with Badiali's and North of Brooklyn for New York/Brooklyn style pizza. But I lived in NYC for years and this stuff beats it by a mile for me. The dough is cooked to perfection. Crispy and light. The sauce is tangy and just the right amount. Cheese and ingredients are top notch. Cocktails are also on point here, as is the pasta. If you're on the wait list next door at Sugo's, try hitting this place instead. You will thank me.

    Pepperoni, olive, jalapeno pizza

Great pizza here. We ordered the zucchini and pepperoni/olive/jalapeño pizza (forgot what it was called but it had those three toppings) along with the pesto dipping sauce. If you can't get a table at sugo, come here instead. There's more seating here and the pizza here is so good! These guys do not skimp on toppings. We had 3 guys at our table and we couldn't even finish 2 pizzas. You will definitely feel full after eating here. Also, on a side note, the pesto dipping sauce paired so well with our pizzas.

Loved this pizza. Assumed greatness being an extension of sugo which we all love. Tre colore was a great pie. If you like thin pizza with quality ingredients, this is going to be the right place for you.

The pizza looks great but is not that good. Way too much sauce that made the pizza soggy.

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

We had 3 good pizzas and salads. We always have good food and service. It is very comfortable.read more
