Our office decided to get spoiled today 07/10 at 11:30am and get some cookd. Off the bat we were told that they were understaffed today. Which we understood and were happy to wait as long as it took. We've ate here before and we've been happy in the past but we definitely caught them on an awful day....Super unfortunate because we as an office looked forward to eating all together. Our food was super rushed. Fries,Lettuce, sauces all over the place on the to go plate. The chicken was super dry on the chicken bird sandwich. The artichoke dip had No cheese. The buffalo chicken sandwich was dry, weird splatter of buffalo sauce everywhere and the lettuce was old. The presentation overall was lacking. The staff were nice. But I just wished that with us saying we were happy to wait the cooks would take time and relax while preparing it. Again this place has done us good in the past. But we weren't able to go back and let know of this issue because we're on the clock. Voicing it here so that this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future...tell the cooks it's okay to take their time on things! We get it! Thank you. read more

Went to lunch today for half off pizza, it was busy and getting a pizza did take over a hour which we felt was a long time for pizza. Our server Nicole was super friendly took great care of us and she let us know right away about the delays and offered us drinks, appetizers, and I got the Zumpa soup she recommended, which was really good. We will be back just maybe not on Sunday the half price might not be worth the savings for the wait. read more

No more. I have tried here now over five times with either my self and a friend, taking my family and even entering multiple friends and family. Each time my food was incorrect and or a number of friends and family were. Tonight was the last time to give it a chance. Server was polite and quick. Food, wife and I are gluten free for medical reasons. We ordered their gluten free pizzas: wife's was a BBQ Chicken and mine was sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, basil and green onion. My boys (no gluten issues) order a cheese burger, and two make your own pizzas. Wife's pizza which is supposed to be a gluten free pizza had bread chicken and a non gluten free crust pizza. I had a non gluten free crust pizza. Our server did apologize and felt sorry. Yet, still charged full price. It takes about an hour or so for us to feel it. We feel it, and are not feeling well. This has happened to multiple times there. We will not be back and will not be recommending the restaurant. We want to, as we want to support local businesses and see them succeed. But, to many times we have been burned. Update... 2023-01-17. Bryan, the owner of the restaurant reached out to me by phone. Very apologetic and is wanting to make it right. A local business owner that truly cares and desires/strives to do his best. I cannot ask for more from the owner, apologized, tying his hardest and wanting another chance. Stopped in here on our way to Genoa. Had good service and good food. Very nice vibe, clean place. Lots of options on their menu. I got the chicken and rice bowl, I really enjoyed it. We ate here about a week ago. Not many choices on a Sunday evening in this quaint town. After viewing the very large menu, we opted for two OG burgers, with salad instead of fries. I opted for lettuce wrapped which was described in the menu being serviced on crispy lettuce . When I took it back to my hotel room I opened the box to laugh at the sad one piece of lettuce per side it was "wrapped" in. We also asked for the pickle fries to try which apparently weren't available. Unfortunately I was advised this place has a habit of being out of things. I asked for extra napkins to go with my to go order and was given some black cocktail napkins and no plasticware for our salads. Staff was nice anyways . The cookd "special" sauce has too much Mayo in it. I didn't care for it. Overall my take on this place is the menu is overly descriptive compared to what you really get. Meh. We popped in after the candy dance. I will start off saying the Tumbleweed drinks are awesome. They are very similar to the Wet Woodys at the water bar but less expensive. The rest of the food was mediocre at best and the service was slooooooooow. The loaded tots were way greasy. The BBQ Chicken pizza was not great. I had the spicy Turkey sandwich and a side salad. The salad was warm and the sandwich was ok. I wanted to like this place. The inside is weird. You walk into this large open area and are greeted at a large reception area. The carpet is torn off the floor to your left. There is a glassed off atrium with tables inside but no one sitting in the glass box. There are also two non gender bathrooms, but they are on opposite sides of the place. The building is huge. It looks like meeting space upstairs. read more

We traveled from California to Nevada looking for a place to eat with our kids and adults. We were a party of about six. We first tried the chicken wings teriyaki very salty. We couldn't eat them and had to send them back. Then we asked for the chicken wings with the sauce on the side and we asked for buffalo, but the sauce was on top and waiting for our entrées which we had got chicken Alfredo, chicken and waffles a burger, a corn dog and also two tri-tip sandwiches we saw a lady chef in the back Place oil on her hand and stir the pasta with her hand unfortunately, at that point we had already ordered our chicken Alfredo After seeing that, my daughter was an unable to finish her food so we were just waiting for the food when the food arrived. The flavors were off and they just all around every dish wasn't at its best. The chef(s) know what they are doing! Salmon was perfect. Marinated steak was unique and delicious. Unexpectedly the green beans were the BEST I have ever tasted with just the right texture and butter/fresh garlic. I think our waiter's name was Dave and he was first rate. Very friendly. We went to get lunch here on a Tuesday around 12:15 p.m. They did not appear to be extremely busy. We ordered a Margarita pizza and added chicken breast. The menu description says it has basil and tomatoes as the main toppings. The tomatoes were scarce and we had to send the pizza back to get basil put on it. The crust is super processed tasting. It also took us 40 minutes to get the pizza. There was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant and a bartender who seemed to be taking orders as well. Overall, it was a very underwhelming meal. The pizza was pretty meh and the service was not that great.....I could see the waitress explaining to the prep cook in the back what needed to go on the pizza when it was taken back to her and the cook appeared unconcerned, argumentative and slow moving. I wanted to like this restaurant, but I won't ever go back as there are WAY better choices with better service and much better food. read more

We ate here for the first time tonight. My friends had the chili verde and they loved it. I tried a bite of the chili verde sauce and thought it was really good. I will definitely try that in the future. I had a small ( personal) pepperoni pizza. I thought it was delicious. They also have good ranch dressing. I do like Cook'd but my only issue is the food is inconsistent. Sometimes we go and it is amazing, sometimes it is "meh". It does have a nice atmosphere and is the place we always take guests from out of town. It's nice to have dinner or lunch and then retire to the bar for some video poker and a drink or three. For the price I would expect more consistency and would go back more often. Get that nailed down and you'll have a more consistent customer. read more

He's witty, fast & will consistently surprise me with delicious drinks, since I never know what to order with my meal. Ask him for a "Smoke On The Valley!" First time here and the food was delicious! I loved that they have seating at the bar, table seating near the bar, and then seating completely away from the bar. We received excellent customer service and will definitely be back for another burger. My husband got the spicy burger and I got the Tahoe burger. The only reason for 4 stars is because our appetizer came out waaaaay after our food. They said they make it in their pizza oven and since Sundays were half off pizza day their pizza oven was a little backed up. Otherwise great place and can't believe we hadn't tried it till now! It's always nice to check out a new place to eat in Gardnerville! It is starting to get more interesting restaurants to open up. Cook'd seems to be one of those places. We arrived at the front entry and waited for a few minutes before deciding to move to the noise coming from the back. Asked if we should sit wherever and were instructed in the affirmative. The back part of the restaurant was almost full but we found a nice table to sit at. Waited again for a few minutes before we had our drink order taken and receiving our menus. The menu is what I would call American/Italian. Heavy on burgers, pizza, and various pasta dishes. One of my dining companions had the spaghetti and meatballs. He said it was O.K. but the marinara was a little heavy on the oregano and the meatballs were a little tough probably because they were not made with any breadcrumbs. Another dining companion had the ravioli and they looked really good and she said they were really good. I had the Artichoke Chicken and it was good, the best way to describe it would be a creamy artichoke dip spread on a grilled chicken breast and baked with a slice of provolone on top. My only complaint was part of the chicken breast was too thin and as a result was tough. The chicken came with a side of garlic and butter linguine which was flavorful but arrived a bit less than warm. My only suggestion would be the option of a small salad or cup of one of the soups included with the entree and a basket of bread with butter to go with the dinner. Overall it was a good experience and we're excited to have another option here for dinner. read more

Lunch was great, the Patty Melt could have used more caramelized onions but the taste and texture was very good. Fries were the "breaded lightly" kind and they were good.
